It got way away from them. Marvel didn't expect Transformers to take off like it did! :)

Anyone curious about the backstory as to why my toys are alive can follow this link & read the conspiracy.

I've probably mentioned some of it already, & it has been alluded to in the comic.

Once again, sorry about the late reply. I meant to reply yesterday, but shopping my last update took WAY longer than I had planned.

Well. It's working. Don't stop now. lol

Man I would really be out of space right now if i still had all my childhood toys. I had quite the tmnt collection, alot of real ghosbusters-including ecto one and the firehouse. I still have a ton now. Obviously, more tfs than anyone could ever need lol. Let's see- a tote full of megazords, a tote of the old star wars action fleet vehicles, a box of gundams, a tote of legos, tons uon tons of alien and predator stuff, my terminator figures, a shelf full of star wars titanium series ships...a tote of random action figures-mostly old power rangers, old marvel figures from the 90s...and pretty much all the first movie x-men guys. Then all my "Role playing" stuff. A box of morphers. We had a star wars themed-wedding, so at the time of my wedding, I had at least one of every deluxe lightsaber released at that point. and then four of the master replica sabers. Then in the years I didn;'t have internet I was into homemade prop building. So I have two full size proton packs I built, a ghost trap, a pke meter....and a bunch of hommade lightsaber hilts. Yeah-I have a ton of stuff lol

Oh man, I remember seeing that thing in the catalogs. I only ever had a few of the smaller m-tron stuff. I had a bunch of the blacktron stuff when they remade them into white suits with that weird neon green B on the chest. A few of the old space police stuff. But most of my legos back then were City sets. My brothers had a lot of the pirate stuff.

Yeah. Some of the new star wars stuff looks fantastic. I just can't affor legos these days. I would have to basically quit tfs and only be a lego collector. I couldn't do both. All my star wars stuff was the very first ones. The first x-wing and a-wing and snowspeeder. I got some of the attack of the clones sets. Then i kinda stoped, as I moved out of the parents and left the legos to my siblings. Funny that I have mos of them back now.
Yeah, I've seen pics of that thing. It does look amazing though.
Yeah. I never understood why that thing wasn't featured more in the prequels. Instead we got that other walker that doesn't fit into the design lineage at all. I forget what it's called-the 6 legged one. I know they tanks have been featured in the clone wars....but I'm waaay behind on that series. I only saw the beginning part that was released in theaters.

    That is pretty cool actually.
Awesome-you learn something new every day. I don't know much about that kind of stuff-I'm horrible with math.

    Yeah, that's for sure.

Well, still it worked. And just another reason why beast wars is awesome.

I bet he can. From the interveiws I have seen of him, he is pretty talented. In a similar vein, there was story from the first movie when peter cullen was auditioning. the scene he had to read was between Ironhide and prime. They had someone reading Ih's lines to the actors for the conversation. Peter just did the whole conversation buy himself-since he voiced em both in g1. I can't remember where I read that at, but i would love to see a video of it!
That;'s what i am hoping. From the interviews on beast machines, it sounded like most of them were there at the same time

    I know. lol

Hmm maybee that's why. I never go to best buy unless i can't find something I'm looking for anyplace else. For one best buy is an hur away from me, and secondly, I hate how there employes get up in youir face all the time. "can I help you can I help you?" nonstop lol If I wanted their help, I would go find them. I know how to find what I am looking for. Just one of my pet peeves.
Oh I see. For some reason I thought season one was longer than that. I really hope they do some cool extras though. Heck, I'd even take toy commercials from back then.

I wouldn't say they replicated it perfectly....but decent. The weird wire looking things on his arms just rotate to the inside of his arms and don't do anything to hide themselves. And the orange is just horrid. All that said, it was tons better than the first one.

Yeah, but in this case, you could do almost anything with his powers and it will still be believable.

Yeah, that's the same reason I want megs. Sentinal I just don't know. I want him, as its a cool design...but leaders are a definite no-go right now. Maybee the leader will get a clearance deal come x-mas time or something. Either way, I'm holding off on him for now.

Nice new sig by the way! I like it. I still can't quite make out who the blacked-out guys are though.

Sorry for the delay the last few updates. I finally got most of my new anime watched, & family dropping by unannounced has died off a bit, so I'll be starting shooting the next update after posting this & checking a few more threads (Warring at Play updated today, FINALLY, & I still need to comment on it. As I said earlier, it's back to Wheeljack's group. ^_~

I know how long 'shopping stuff like that can take... Just look at my last update! :lol

Unless my condition deteriorates further, to where I can't even do the comic intermittently, I have no intention of stopping, at least not before some sort of plot resolution... & considering how things keep getting away from me...

I forgot to include that I have all the original Zords to form the original Ultrazord, Megatigerzord or Megathunderzord (I prefer the Megatigerzord, but it's too big to store in that form & some of the connection bits of the Black Lionzord are broke, so it's loose on the Tigerzord's back), & the Ninja Ultrazord (Ninja Falconzord + Titanus): basically all the "Deluxe" -- larger ones at any rate -- Zords through the first movie that can combine to form each Megazord, except for Tor; & I think at one point I had the larger, original Rangers... The Zords are still together (give or take stickers peeling, dust & the tip of the Dragonzord's tail), but I have no clue where the Ranger figures are (probably consigned to toyboxes somewhere). I wanted the Shogunzords & ZeoZords, but never got them... & I didn't really want any after Turbo... The Lightspeed Rescue Zords did interest me, though...

& I also have a Lego container... One similar to Scrooge McDuck's money bin... Most, less the street plates & any bricks in constructs, of a Truck Stop set is also in the bin... (I built walls, making the 2 Star Wars "Rebel Bases" I have one, on the 2 street plates, to make-shift a proper hanger & control room not long after getting the set w/ the 2nd base) I think the Y-wing came w/ hanger bits, & the B-Wing came w/ a small control room w/ doors I think belong on Hoth, but I could have those backwards or be wrong entirely... The Truck Stop I think is the ONLY actual set in pieces, the rest are assembled or modified.

I haven't kitbashed anything... & I only have a single Gundam, I think Master Grade, which I got shortly after I was hurt.

I got a T-I-N-Y (comparted to the Multi-core Magnetizer at least), one man M-Tron crane (I think it did come w/ 2 figures, but only 1 could be on it w/o standing in the back area), which once the dog chewed up part of the crane neck, I redesigned it based on the Multicore Magnetizer (Brickapedia says it's Megacore, but I clearly recall Multicore, & one is up on Amazon for $450  ) -- including a fold-out, hidden crane arm -- & that could be it for M-tron. The redesign looks WAY cooler than the original lay out.  I have a Blacktron ship: I think it's called the Renegade (which is the one I repurposed for the Batwing, easily), which could be one of the earliest Blacktron sets... I also have a "white-suit" Blacktron set w/ detaching pilot pods, which I was given to me by a cousin when he broke it, since I had the skills to rebuild it (to some extent at least), even w/o a pic to go from, so I don't know what it's called... it does have a jetpack, though...

I also have an Ice Planet Rocket transport ship, which I forget the name of... Could be the Deep Freeze Defender, which sounds right, but I'd have to track down either the remains of the box or the instruction manual (I should still have ALL the instructions, somewhere...). That ship came w/ a rare female character, which I think someone stole from me. :cry  I also have a Spyrius Rocket Base.

    *edit*
I found out I had 3 M-Tron sets (or, more accutately, I was bought one, giving my brother's & given my cousion's)
I found a pic on the Lego Wikia that has I guess ALL the M-Tron sets, but my 3 are on the same level (the small ship in the upper left corner, the larger ship in the middle w/ "helicopter blades" & the larger one w/ wheels, that ISN'T the Multicore Magnetizer):
The Multi/ Mega Core Magnetizer's page says it went by both names.

Here're links to the 3 M-Tron sets I had: Vector Detector, my brothers; Celestrial Forager, the one I reconfigured to be similar to the Multicore Magnetizer, bought for me; & the Particle Ionizer (I had to reconstruct the Particle Ionizer, which is why my cousin gave it to me... It was easier to reconstruct than the Blacktron set I was also given -- Probably had it's box to go by).

I also was right about the Deep Freeze Defender's name.
The Space Police sets I had were: the Rebel Hunter & Galactic Mediator (which is practically a flying fortress). While I was on the Lego Wikia, I looked up the Blacktron ship I was given: Aerial Intruder

Might as well include links to pics for the other sets I mentioned: Spyrius Lunar Launch Site & original generation Blacktron Renegade, where you can see why I chose to reconfigure some of it into a Batwing (I was right about it's name as well).

I still want that Multicore Magnetizer! I got the big sets for Space Police & Ice Planet (as well as the old Blacktron), why didn't my parents get me that one? @.@ *end edit*

I wonder what kind of Transformer I could make if I took apart ALL my Star Wars Lego sets for it? I know it'd be close to fully posable...

You should see it's MASSIVE box... I've seen it at Toys R Us... There's AT LEAST 2 versions of the Star Destroyer now, & the Republic Blockade Runner & a few others...

The 6 legged one is the AT-TE... There's also a modified one w/ an open back that's a troop carrier... Think there might be one for the Turbo Clone Tank too, but I'm not sure...

I only got the first 2 mini-series for Clone Wars on DVD. I don't have cable, so I can't watch the current series, & I don't have money to track down what's been released on DVD... Have you seen stuff for the New Lego Star Wars game? It's for Clone Wars!

    I was a math wiz.

I wonder how hard it would be to either make or 'shop Megatrons Diagnostic Drone?

Why would Peter Cullen, having already been Optimus & Ironhide, & others, have to reaudition for his own iconic role? You'd think Hasbro would've just said "if you can still do the voice, the roles yours." But, yeah, I don't think anyone could do Ironhide well enough for Peter Cullen to interact w/ like that. :lol

I might have to check out the Beast Machines commentaries... I don't normally bother w/ them, since I used to have other, more interesting things to do.

There're several Best Buys essentially 20 min. in any direction from me, & more 10 - 20 min. past some of them... & anytime I need help (usually to send someone to the back, to find out why the computer says its in stock, but it isn't on a shelf), I have to track them down myself... Never around when I need help...

Nope, Beast Wars in total was only 52 eps. Granted, they crammed A TON into those 52 eps., including more charactrer development than all of G1!!

Considering that his limbs transformed into energy, were retracted, then new arms extended out, I can't see how even future tech is going to be able to replicate his Beast Machines transformation anywhere close to perfectly...

    Well, anything elemental, at least...

By Chirstmas, he'll be triple on E-bay, unless Hasbro keeps the shelves full of him... & when was the last time a "wanted" item was kept on the shelves for ANY length of time? Instead we keep getting wave after wave of the Twins! :banghead:

That's the POINT of them being small & blacked out... You're not supposed to be able to work out who they are... Though, I am surprised you can't... But it's better if you don't know. ;)  Neither have appeared just yet... Though I might accelerate my plans on the one near Starscream... & thanks. I figured since the vote's been over for a while, I could stop promoting Rattrap (even though he lost in the prelims :cry )/ Beast Wars (aka Waspinator) & go back to promoting my comic.

I've posted the thought process about why everyone is where they are for the Sig in the Federation of Funnies Creators Group... Why haven't you joined that yet?

Yeah. I bet. Doing flying stuff just takes so long. But in the end, it's usually worth it.

    Good to know.

I never had tigerzord or Dragonzord....I did want them bad though. I stupidly traded away my original zords a long time ago. Lucky they had that 2010 release. Still Irks me they didn't do a dragonzord to go with it. Which makes no sense, because that thing would have sold like hotcakes.
The shogunzords are more brick than your typical zord, but they are one opf my favorite mecha designs ever. That thing just looked cool. I had the zeo zords at one point- but they were traded away. I still have red battlezord, pyramidas, and super zeo megazord though.
They were a fun system. Giant train that opens to have the other zords in it. Supertrain is just impressivly huge, and the normal light-speed megazord had a cool formation sequence.

II think that is right about the y-wing and b-wing. I remember seeing them in a lego catalog. I probably still have that catalog around here somewhere, now that I think of it.

I only have a few of the cheaper models. I suck at painting, so my whole box of gundams are the little three inch figures that were everywhere when gundam wing was aired over here.

Is that the one where the pilot pods were neon green window bits that were octagon shaped? I had a ship like that....but the memories are blurry. I never really got any of the nice big sets when i was a kid. The biggest thing I got was a town set that came with a pickup with a lightbar, 2 cycle cops, some roadblocks, and a flatbed semi truck carrying the space shuttle orbiter. I was stoked when i got that for x-mas one year!

Ah. That pic brins memories back. I know I had that vector detector, and the little dune buggy rover thing near the top right in that pic. I had two of an even smaller m-tron ship. They were very tiny-like little space jetskis with wings. I know it was like the cheapest price point.
Man those are some huge ships! As soon as i saw the pics I instantly remembered seeing them and trying to make something similar from the parts i had. The space police one was the newer era than the sets I had. I had the older space police-where the vehicles were blue and black. The mini figs were the ones with the diagonal zipper, with one side white and the other a black usually. Although I did have red and blue ones too. I did have a bunch of the old-old space mini figures. The ones that were all one solid color with just that planet logo in the center of the chest.

That blacktron ship is way bigger than the one i had. The one i had only had one pod centered in the front. I would have to say you were luckier than me on the lego front.

I remember that blacktron ship. I didn't have it, but my cousin did.

    Haha- I bet.

Also- How did I not know about this lego wiki? lol I'm gonna be on it all night now.

I bet. There is a lot of potential there. The question is-Would it be an original design, or an existing character?

I have seen that blockade runner.

That's right. I don't know how I forgot what it was called.

Yeah I seen that. I didn't even know it was coming out, then one day I saw a poster for it at wal mart. I will eventually get it, but I'm waiting a bit for the price to drop. I refuse to pay full retail for any game these days.

It would probably be pretty easy to make him. But of course, he flies all the time, so either way you have to shop him in.

The usual mike Bay. Hasbro didn't have any control over that aspect-they gave it all to bay and his team in the beginning. If it wasn't for fan outcry, peter would never even have gotten to audition in the first place!

I would say just watch the David Kay interveiws. The commentaries are just the writers basically talking about how great they are for writing such an "epic tale" for a kids cartoon. I mean, it was interesting to hear why some of the decisions were made on the show, but the writer brings up the phrase "novel for television" like every five minutes or so.

Weird. I can't even walk from one section to the next without two or three employees bugging me when I'm there.

Man, that is still so shocking to me. It sure seems like it was a longer tale. Man I love that show.

True, but the giant air attack one got pretty close. I would like to see them take a serious crack at it with modern engineering.

Yeah, but that still covers a ton of different powers.

Well, if it goes like the last two years, leaders are both plentiful, and half-off on black friday week. At least in my area. When ROTf hit I got leader prime the first day. I didn't get jet fire or megaton until the holiday season.

Well, I'm pretty sure i know who the one by starscream is now....but I still have a small amount of doubt.
    I forgot-again.

Just so you know, I have proof I haven't been idle this whole time. I have been working on a graphic for the inside of Wheeljack's lab, & ultimately something I can tweak to use for AEG HQ once they get established on Planet Arus. Remember, this is a test mockup, I forgot to use guide lines & have thought of a better way to redo it:

This mock up uses 6 of the stips used for Teletraan-1's top to make the walls & roof, but I think when I redo it I can get by w/ 4... I tried duplicating the floor layer to get the roof layer (each w/ 1/2 the walls), & though I got it to line up decently, I know I can do better...

Wheeljack's lab won't have Teletraan, but I might experiment w/ taking parts of Teletraan & reconfiguring them to make a different comptuer set up for him. ^_~

If anyone knows who made this (I got links from the Warring at Play thread), let me know so I can give him credit. It was intended to be printed out & to make a physical Teletraan for display, but I don't have a working printer; but I can use the HUGE HD files digitally...

Additionally, this morning I shot the first scene of the update, the approach to Wheeljack's lab. I still need to 'shop it & shoot more, but I have started... Though, due to having to manufacture backgrounds for it & make props, I can't provide an estimate for when the update will be done...

Before I start replying, I forgot to tell you that even if you are timed out after using the Quote function to reply to stuff before you finish & submit it, I discovered by chance that everything is kept when you log back in (not sure if there's a time limit on that, as I never close the browser when I'm replying & time out).

Now, my replies: as you can see at the top of this post, I have a LOT to do THIS Update as well...

I absolutely HATE leaving things unfinished, even if it's OK &/ or I'm forced to...

Technically, like TransMetal Optimus & the Legos mentioned earlier, my Dragonzord & White Tigerzords were my younger brother's, & I got them when he "out grew" them. That's likely why the tip of Dragonzord's tail is missing... I wonder if I could use the Dragonzord as a funtional Trypticon?

However, the Christmas I got the Original Zords, dad had them combined into Ultrazord configuration when we got up... A bit impressive that he could do it, well kinda...

I know the Shugunzords were bricks, & rather strange (being humanoid zords, that's bound to happen), but I always thought it was cool that they could still combine w/ the Falconzord.

I always thought it was interesting that the Green flying Zord manually lifted the Blue & Red Zords into position, rather than the usual "they can fly to combine, though they otherwise can't".

Well, my set up is almost passable for a proper Rebel Base... Not necessarily Hoth's, but you can tell it's a base... ^_^

I never tried painting a figure, so I don't know how good I would've been, but since the accident I know I shouldn't even bother trying... Was always good w/ getting the stickers precisely placed, though... Too bad I wasn't the only who applied stickers to my toys; when I was still too small to, my dad took a shot at it w/ mixed results.

Answered the question before it was asked JUST in time! I noticed you were on IMMEDIATELY after adding in the edits of links to Lego sets, when you weren't when I started. :lol

My parents put Christmas on Credit Cards, & are paying for it now... :banghead:  I refuse to pay someone for quick access to my money...

The Galactic Mediator is the one that had the Giant Robot "also possible", which used NEARLY EVERY PIECE (my verison did use every piece), & it's the one I learned I completely memorized my sets by accident when I went back to rebuild the ship, w/o instructions.

The Deep Freeze Defender's "garage door" on top of the back section slides down & hits a lever to raise a scout ship as it is opened... I had the lever over one connector off from where it should've been, so the ship hit the door before it was opened, jamming it: I disassembled the entire rear of the ship, moved the assembly & reassembled it from memory... Not sure if that was before or after changing the robot back into the Galactic Mediator... & now my memory is shot. :cry  My old memories are usable, but possibly fragmented, but forming new memories is a crapshoot.

I'd forgotten about it till I decided to look up the Multicore Magnetizer again... Not sure how long ago I learned it existed.

Nearly everything has some kind of wiki these days... Just go to Google & type in something & "wiki" & it will bring it up, usually...

Hadn't decided that bit, since I don't want to take apart my Star Wars sets... Once I had a poor, tiny G1 Optimus made of small, normal bricks, & once I had simple Aerialbots that could combine made, in Voltron-esk coloring; they were very simple, made soley w/ several 4x2 thick bricks &, I think, 3 thick 2x2s each, but they were better than Op...

Especially since you said that in response to me NAMING IT! @.@

It's on my "get ASAP" list, along w/ 16 or so other games & either a Wii or the new, backwards compatabe, Console Nintendo is developing (seemingly composed every bit of cutting edge tech that's in development), w/ specs that exceed the current HD Gen consoles. I've said Sony & Microsoft would regret awakening the Sleeping Dragon that was Nintendo, & now the Dragon has awakened & is working on a 1 Gig (RAM?) system, more powerful than it's competators! Nintendo seems to miss their hardcore fans. ^_^

Making is one thing, making him look right, consitantly, is another...

At least Bay isn't a complete moron...

I could see them saying that for Beast Wars, but it doesn't quite work for Beast Machines...

Because it was so good, & had so much going on, it seemed to last longer... Remember, most of the show, Megatron & Tarantulas were competing for who was the better Chestmaster/ had the better Xanatos Gambit, adding levels to episodes not seen since Gargoyles.

I want TFs that transform like their animation models... Since Beast Wars, excluding the Maximals in Beast Machines, Hasbro had been doing well, till the movies... & even a few movie toys are close... Namely RotF Prime, but a few others might be... I expect Leader Sentinel to be close, as well...

I got my RotF Optimus & Jetfire for $35 each, after I got hurt... Not sure when...

To complicate things more, the only 'shopping to him was to cut him out, shrink him & black him out. He was transformed completely correctly, w/ nothing being hid. So, what's there was what the camera caught. :p  I'd've thought the other shadowy silhouette would've been the one that was easier to identify...

That looks pretty darn good. This is going to be sweet.

    That would be cool.

Hmmm... I can't remember who made it now, but I seem to remember it showing up in the radicons section first.
    No worries, take your time.

Yeah, I discovered it when firefox randomly crashed one time.

Yeah, but it looks like the end product will so worth it.

    Yeah, me too.

He'd make a decent stand-in. Of course then the question will be how huge do you make him?

That is kind of awesome. We were limited on that front. One year, we only got to ask for stuff under a certain price. The thunderaord assault team was above it, so me and my brother each got a red dragon. It took me years to finally complete the thunder megazord.

Yeah. Plus they just looked cool.

Yeah, it was a different take on it, and I liked it a lot.

Yeah. That happened to me a few times, with a lot of zords being traded to me by friends.

Yeah, that was pure luck. for some reason I went back to the thread while in the middle of responding and saw the pic.

    Yeah. Me too.
That's still pretty intense. I could only remember smaller, basic assemblies. Bigger things I had to go back to the instructions for.

    .
Yeah. I guess I should have known that something as big as lego would have a wiki. I just never thought of it for some reason.

Haha. I understand not wanting to take the star wars sets apart. Of course, on the other hand. Imagine what would be possible lol

On of those moments my brain shut down. Even I was typing it, I was like "come on-you know this!"

That sounds amazing! I did not know they were working on a new system. But then, I don't play, or pay attention to the video game front nearly as much as I used to.

True, but it would be worth it. It's rare enough you see stuff from beast machines in fan comics right now, much less such a charecter like him. With no toy at all!

Yeah, but if the fans hadn't raised a fuss, he wouldn't even have considered cullen!

Lol they said it in like every interview and commentary on that set.

This is all true. Another factor for me was I have seen season three plenty, But I haven't seen season one since it was on tv. Man, I can't believe it's really been over a decade since then!

Yeah, leader sentinal looks pretty close to me. To bad that Megatron design isn't getting the leader treatment. Oh well, at least the voyager looks pretty good. Unlike sentinal's voyager.

Like I said, I am pretty sure as to the one by screamer. The other has me completely stumped.

I figured I needed to do Wheeljack's Lab on Cybertron Justice. Now making props to fit w/ it for his experiments is going to be nearly as challenging as making the walls for his Lab! I also have the added challenge of getting everything to line up properly...

Well, if I'm designing Wheeljack's Lab, I've got to work up some kind interface for him to use...

All I know is Pol uses some of them, & the link took me to a site off TFW.

    Same to you...

I hope so... The Lab approach was a pain to 'shop in the walls, but it looks right. ^_^

Too big to bother including him at this point... But he'd only have 2 modes, instead of 3 & to me that's a draw back: dragon mode & base mode, no battle station...

As we got older & money got tighter, eventually they set an amount, & they'd buy stuff off our lists till they reached that year's limit... By then I was into games, so I got smaller & smaller numbers of items, usually ending up w/ a game or 2 & some TFs, or Lego sets (during Energon, when the TFs weren't that appealing). I also had more accurate lists, including how much each thing was & the best store to get them from.

But they look cooler w/ the Falconzord's machine guns extending from their chest...

It was a realistic take on it... All things considered...

My dad got the stickers for the Zords right... Some TFs just had TINY stickers that require precise positioning.

Like I said, just in time... When I reply, since I can't remember what I said that you reply to due to the head injury, I have to go back & forth checking... At least it's immediately below the reply field, & refreshes when you preview your reply ^_^ (just scroll down some, & you'll find the last 10 posts, w/o Sigs & avatars, but including in post pics, etc.)... It's convenient...

Then we have stuff like the PSN & Best Buy Hacks... I know how all this tech works, give or take, as well as how Hackers work (before my accident at least, had I wanted to, I could've learned how to Hack w/o much trouble, if not taught myself), so on top of not wanting to pay interest to use MY money, my information wouldn't be safe, & you already know how I am Red Alert about that...

Well, it wasn't intentional; God just gave me a highly advanced memory, ^_^ that has now been taken from me... :banghead:  :cry

Oh, I have a fairly good idea what's possible... If I wanted to, I could use parts of the Turbo Clone Tank, The Twilight & others to build MP Op the trailer he deserves (there should be enough panels amoung what I have available to do so), including the Battle Station & Roller)... Oh, slag! Now I want to build that. :banghead:  I shouldn't've described it... ~,~,'

You'll find out soon enough if I do or not. :p  :ev:

*edit*I was wrong about the piece count on my Lego Millenium Falcon, it's 659 pieces, not 935. @.@ I could've sworn it was over 900... I know there is a set out w/ 985...

Anyway, I looked into if the Twilight & Turbo Clone Tank had enough panels to make the trailer, & they don't... Which means if I do break down & try to build a proper trailer for MP-01 (w/o gaps), I'd have to dismantle the Millenium Falcon as well, to have the all the panels I'd need to make the trailer long enough. I just don't know if I want to take apart my 3 biggest, most complex sets to build the trailer... Though, if I decide to, I'd have a lot of Technic bits to use for Wheeljack's experiments... Decisions, decisions...*end edit*

    :banghead:

It's supposed to be revealed at E3. It's currently going by "Project Cafe" & the Stream.

If I did use him, I'd probably build him out of Legos, so he'd be consistant & camera angles wouldn't be an issue.

Like I said, "At least Bay isn't a complete moron... ", implying that he is a moron on some level...

Over a decade? Try 15th Anniversary!

There's no way to know if Leader Sentinel is close to his CG or not till we see him transform in the movie... Pretty sure we never saw him transform in any trailers... & I thought there was going to be a Leader Megs?

It's supposed to be the other way around... :banghead:

High production values further delay update 18: Wheeljack's Lab

I must apologize, but due to the production values of this update, it's likely going to be longer than I had initially hoped it'd take to make. ^_~ I've decided to do an Omake to make up for it; kinda like the "Dead Polenicus Day", but not quite... Unfortunately, because of the content of the Omake, I won't be able to post the link to it until after the following update (all will make sense once you see the Omake), as it relates to events in those updates, & I refuse to spoil what I'm up to. :ev:

I will say part of the delay, & the Omake, will be work on proper equipment for Wheeljack's lab. I've realized that the straws I used last time will clash w/ the Cybertronian background. Not to say there won't be a straw construct here or there, but I want some stuff w/ moving parts... It's Wheeljack's primary Lab slag it!, & I intend to get as much right as I can. [IMG]

I hope this suffices as it's going to delay my acutal current update further, but I think everyone will be pleased, so long as it comes out how I know I could do it before my accident. :confused2

    If you can't wait...
there are clues, in locations I have control over, to help you track down where it's being posted... But reading it early will spoiler reveals & such... Seek it out at your own Risk...
I will not provide any hints in this thread, nor the link, until update 19 is posted. :ev:

Still working on props/ set, but it's moving faster than I thought it would. So, if I'm lucky, I may be able to get the next update done & posted sometime next week, if not sooner.

Also, my first post now has a Direct Link to the rules for using Vector Prime (it now automatically links to the usage section UNDER the Update! Meaning, it no longer links to the top of the post, where another link is... That link has been left regardless...).

For those interested, I experimented w/ the anchor tags for use w/ the Omake in the other thread, & TFW's BBS Code anchor tags create links usable w/in whole threads. Further experimentation shows that not only are the links usable in any thread w/in TFW2005, but they're usable on ANY SITE! I can even E-mail or text someone one of these ahchor links & direct them to specific parts of my posts here.

Once update 19 is posted, at the bottom (most likely) will be direct links to the Omake panels (they're spread out some in that thread).

If you would like to learn about Anchor tags, you can check out the forum rules at the bottom of this, & most others, page, scroll down & click on BBS Code (or here -- you may need to click the icon to make the menu show), then either scroll down or click on aanchor & aname in the table of contents/ index (they're near each other on the page, both visible on that screen when aanchor is near the top of a full screen). One creates the link, the other the jump spot for the link to take you to.

If anyone would need me to explain, if you want to use them, let me know & I'll try to do so more than I did here.

I have no doubt that you can pull it off.

    True.

Yeah. I just can't seem to remember now.

Yeah. This not being able to work on it is driving me nuts though...things are about to start rolling for the "season finale"

    Yeah, it looks good.

This is true. But I would still love to see it.

Ours just gave up and gave us cash as we hit middle school and older. Tehre was a kbtoys withing walking distance from where we lived so x-mas break was like a shopping spree those years.

Yeah. I never had the falconzord. One of my friends did, so i did get to have it combine with my ninja megazord a few times. But I moved by the time I had a shogunzord. So I have never seen it in person sadly.

Yeah. It was also when the effects getting pretty good. I liked it a lot. Far better than older formations, but it was before they went cheesy cgi with the zord formations. Also fun to recreate with the toy lol

Except for the re-issue g1 bots I have, none of my bots needed stickers by the time I was back into it.

    Nice.

Yeah. Then You see stuff like this whole recent credit card accounts being compromised thing. Makes me glad I don't have those anymore.

    Yeah. that sucks.

Lol that's the thing with legos...once you start thinking about how to make something, it infects your brain in a way. Of course, if you did build it-it would be awesome and amazing. But After a while you would want the sw ships back...then all the parts would be mixed. tough call.

You'll find out soon enough if I do or not. :p  :ev:
That is a hard call. I don't know if I could bring myself to take apart the falcon.

Nice. It's time for a new console i think. The three out there are starting to get dated. I wonder if sony and x box will just rip it off once it comes out...like they did with the wii.

Yeah. Should be pretty easy to make him. He would make a great addition.

    lol. yeah.

Yeah- I miss spoke I meant over a decade since it was on tv. I caught most of it in re-runs during 1999-2000...So I tend to forget it was actually out before that.

I was just going by the renders. Movie transformations are hard to nail down. Look at optimus he never transforms the same way twice. When he drives into mission city in the first film-the sleeper on his cab kind of breaks apart and gets "sucked into him" Then in rotf in the hanger, the sleeper folds out behind him and somehow becomes his legs like the 2007 voyager toy.

    Lol...I just can't tell.

I tracked down his info on the site I pulled the pics from... Had to backtrack through Pol's thread to find the post w/ the link...

You could always drag it out in small bits, as it seems you've been doing...

What do you mean "it looks good?" I haven't posted the lab approach yet! I shot & 'shopped it, but have to build some of Wheeljack's contraptions before I can shoot the rest. As I've posted, I hope to have Update 18: Wheeljack's Lab posted sometime this week. ^_^ High Production values takes it's payment out of production time.

    We'll see...

I've asked for cash, but my parents like the tradition of waking up to us opening gifts... I get gift cards now that everyone's gone... Sometimes; I tell them get me Best Buy cards, so I can get anime. I wasn't into the movie lines enough to warrant Walmart cards.

Even though I don't have the Shogunzords, I can tell you you're missing out... because I know I am missing out. It took me a while to find out what the connection tabs/ slot on the Ninja-Falconzord were for... I never saw the Shogunzords in the stores, or I'd've gotten them...

It's kinda messed up that the formations obviously using the toys (or substancially better versions) look better than the CG ones. @.@ I didn't care for the CG formation of the Ninja Megazord in the movie that much...

Yeah, it's been a while since I've had to bother w/ stickers too... Well, I think my MP Beta has stickers, but due to my condition making precision movements iffy, if not non-existant, I haven't tried (got it after I got hurt).

That was included in the PSN & Best Buy hack statements... Sony eventually admitted credit card info was stolen, after Congress got on them about it... :banghead:

Oh, no. I've thought about dismantling them a number of times, & never did. I have a firm grasp on my impulses, & only give into them if I want to. I don't have to DO anything.

& when I have broken constructs down in the past, I link identical pieces together (in a mannor where they're easy to pull apart... found via trial & error...), so they're easier to find. Though I've never mixed sets before, though it would be grounds for pause (882+801+569 = 2342 pieces!), because of my experience w/ Legos, mixing them isn't grounds for not trying... It's more my not wanting to dismantle my biggest, most complex & probably coolest sets...

Compared the the 1/2 Technic Twilight, the Falcon is nothing. & a good 1/2 of what I did putting The Twilight together was Technic pieces being used to reenforce it. It is H-E-A-V-Y, especially considering it's HALLOW, & is held up by little Technic landing gear. It needs the reenforcement not to collapse under it's own weight. The Twilight isn't meant to be taken apart; but I'd have to to have all the Technic bits I'd need for all the moving parts for the trailer: both side walls, which would have to be loooonng (if I did it, I'd do it right!); the ramp, which I'd want to swing open as doors as well; the Combat Deck's Drone, w/ it's grabber claw, on a swival base, & needs to be capable or raising & lowering... There' a LOT of moving stuff on that trailer I'd be obligated to try to replicate. & I've never tried to build a Technic custom w/ moving parts before, which is what his trailer would be.

A while back, Nintendo had said they had planned for the Wii to last 10 years; but it looks like they're missing their Hardcore base.

& considering Nintendo is packing "Project Cafe" w/ what looks to be every bit of In-development Tech they can find, I'd say it's a safe bet their competitors, if we can still call them that, will try to copy stuff at the very least...

Yeah, but to do him right, I'd still have to take something apart to have the right parts...

Well, Beast Wars started in 1996.

Hot Rod didn't transform the same way twice in the '86 TFTM...

& they did manage to make RotF Leader Prime...

Cool comic so far bro. I have a few quips about it though. Photos are kind of blurry, so it's hard to see what's going on. Second, every picture is so heavy with special effects, it makes it even harder for me to see what's going on. When is the next chapter coming?

I have a new lamp I'm testing, to see how best to position it to get better quality. My old lamp's light blew, & I was given a bulb for this lamp as a replacement, but it doesn't seem to be as bright, & it isn't as maneuverable, which restricts things as well. But, this lamp is mine, so I have unlimited access to it, unlike the other lamp.

I'm currently working on props for the next update. I want to do Wheeljack's Lab on Cybertron right, which requires making some contraptions, w/ moving parts, for him & stuff... If you mean the actual next Chapter, it will take a minimum of 4 updates to get everyone to Planet Arus, where chapter 4 is set to start.

I hope to have the next update posted either sometime this week, or if the contraptions aren't ready yet, next Monday I'll post as much as I can w/ Wheeljack's group heading to the Lab, then show something w/ another group. I'd rather do the whole of the actual Lab at this point, though, & I want to do it right.

Work on the props is moving faster than expected, so hopefully they'll be done soon...

I'm also working on an Omake (it means extra in Japanese,), w/ a couple characters outside the comic (kinda like how Dead Polenicus Day depicted his toys as actors) as a thank you for my readers' patience, but because it covers something not shown until Update 19 (20 if I can't do the actual Lab portion), it won't be posted until after that update. I'm debating just linking to it, or actually posting the panels after the update notes...

Glad you like it so far.

Many of the pics are blurry due to my having to use my cell to take them, & a head injury messing up my motor skills, so I can't always hold the camera phone still. I use the clearest pics I get.

Another reason for the varying pic quality is I don't have consistant lighting. When I have access to a brighter light, pic quality imporves greatly, across all issues.

Well, not every panel has special effects, first. Second, in the panels w/ special effects, they're the focus of those panels. I try to color code the weapons fire (purple for Decepticon weapons, for instance... But remember, Jazz now has 2 Decepticon weapons), etc. & some have overlapping transparent images to represent transformations. When there's a special thing that needs to be paid close attention to (haven't had many yet), those events cover multiple panels, like w/ Bludgeon reactivating after his battle w/ Drift.

The last few panels, w/ Rhinox's group opening fire, they're under heavy attack, & if you were there w/ a camera, you really wouldn't be able to see much... the focus on those panels IS all the weapons fire. I specifically spent extra time working up graphics for Rhinox's Chainguns of Doom, including the pile of spent shells, which was the real focus of the last panel.

Because of my head injury, I have to limit how many panels I work on for each update. So, I try to stay between 25 & 30 panels...

Another reason for the delay in the update is working out how to show a massive battle in 30 panels... I don't want too many effects obscurring any important strategies. I'm aware of the effects issue, & am using it either purposefullly (like Jetstorm's massive Vehicon assault), or to save panel count (specifically one panel transformations).

I have now completed the construction of my props. There will be a TV series reference among them... Let's see Who can point it out first.

Unfortunately, I'm too tired to start shooting now, & will be busy when I get up later today, so I probably won't be able to start shooting the update 'til sometime Saturday... But I can do the whole Lab bit, & already have 1/5 'shopped from earlier.

    Update 18: Wheeljack's Lab

    I'll keep the preamble brief:

Sorry this took so long, but you'll see why it did once you start reading... & will understand fully in update 19. :ev:

There is a link to an audio file near the end (between panels). Click it to hear the sound effect spelt out... You may need to play it 3 or 4 times to get the full effect. :)

*edit* The link doesn't seem to want to work sometimes... I'll keep on it for a bit, but I think the URL changes. */edit*

    The much delayed:

Note 1: For those who don't know, the Tardis is the Doctor's, from Doctor Who, Time/ space ship. Wheeljack will explain why it's called a Tardis when he get's asked. ^_^

Note 2: It's a pain in the butt to create Cybertronian backgrounds, so don't expect me to do so too often. Once we get to Arus, it's back to furniture landscapes...

Note 3: In addition to the props for this update & the next, I also made one for a future update, but I don't know when it will come into play.

Note 4: Let me know how I did on the Tardis Control Console & the dematerialization, Doctor Who fans...

Note 5: Mandingo Rex (TFormers s/n) made the Teletraan Diorama print out, which I used digitally to create the backgrounds for this update, which will be used again to create the AEG HQ that will be set up on Arus. His TFormers profile page | Where I found the print out files

Very cool, KP. The wait was worth it. Its kinda typical that one of Wheeljack's inventions would fail and cause some troubles for others. Poor WJ could he ever get a break and for once his inventions would work out great without a hitch.

Dang. I can definitely see why this update was delayed, because of all the backgrounds and effects.

I've never seen Doctor Who, so I'm afraid I can't help you in regards to how well you've done the effects for the Tardis and such.

But overall, not a bad update. Can't wait to see what happens next. :popcorn

Technically, the device working on Optimus hasn't failed... yet... It has lost containment, however. :ev:  It's effects are unknown (to you & to him) at this time. For all you know, I could very easily have it return Optimus to his normal size, despite the interference... :ev:  & Wheeljack's TARDIS isn't failing, it's working, just at a time when it shouldn't be able to, & at the worst possible moment... At least the Decepticons don't have it. [IMG]

The question is, how will the Matter TransMogrifier's loss of containment, mixed w/ the dematerialization &/ or time travel of the Tardis effect the outcome?
