Consider the mystery solved. That indentation on the so-called 'mouthplate' is actually his mouth, which opens much like the fish on Spongebob. Or at least that's what I tell myself to explain such a mystery.
You'd think Sharkticon would have a whelk's chance in a supernova of getting the Matrix and becoming a Prime, since.....you know...he's a Decepticon. Yeah, me too.
