No self nominations- I think its fair to do this cause then everyone would be nominating themselves. In my opinon those who truly earned it don't need to vote themselves 2. NEVERMIND. Every nomination sumbitted will count if it follows the other rules!! 3. Nomination must be from 2010- Meaning the start date does not matter as long as it is from 2010 it can be nominated. With the exception of best new comic it obivously be from 2010. 4. Past winners CAN be nominated- I originally said past winners can't but I decided to chamge that they can be thrown in the ring. 5. Great list. I'd suggest editing your post to make it clear that the submissions must be from 2010. Several nominations from the 2009 awards were actually from other years.
I'd put best expressions and/or body language too, as that can be achieved by figures by surprisingly limited articulation too. Those are arts in themselves, ya know? And besides, it was started out rather late on and it was the first of its kind, so yeah.
Just to be clear. Voting starts Jan 1 2011? Also would it have to be new categories? If not I have a couple to throw at you: Best effects. Funniest under-used character. Best character development. Are any of those good?
That sounds cool I might toss it in I want 15 minor it seems nice. So I think it will end up in there. Yeah that is true but it was still kind of odd it dissapeared so late in the game but oh well this one I'll try not to let it have the same fate.
January 1st people will submit nominees and then on January 4th the voting thread starts up. And a comic needs two nominations in order to get into the voting stage so that way ones that don't neccesarily belong don't get in. Those three are fantastic. Could of sworn I put effects in there. Oh well thanks for that man.
You would have to check with Zherbus+ of course, but I think one factor in the collapse of the last awards was that so few people actually followed directions and provided the links themselves (in other words, people either didn't read the instructions or simply didn't care). It resulted in a huge amount of word for him. I would have thrown up my hands much sooner, had I been running it...
True and just to make something clear I am NOT attacking the guy at all! Or saying he is a bum or anything like that!

Good question I say that for the best serious,funny,and new yes but when it comes to the best overall of the three no because will just use the one from the winner.
This thread needs to be stickied fast, last thing you want is people finding out halfway through the awards that this is happening Also I hope this thread gets a bit of a discussion going with plenty people so we can really make this a group effort instead of shoveling all the work onto one guy. Not saying that happened last year, I don't know, but I don't want Ironhide2005 having to spend hours finding links Oh! and one thing I personally think really needs to happen, we need trophy's! I don't care if there is only one with different titles, or custom ones for each category, but it needs to happen! It kinda happened last time but not for each award, and it wasn't really an official thing.
You should also have Best Story (for stories that have a beginning and an end in the same year) and Best Ongoing Storyline, for multi-year tales. And IMO you should allow comics that have won before to be nominated again...else it won't truly reflect the Funnies. --Moony
Draeck, that's an awesome idea! Following from that, I'd suggest the trophy for each category be based on the comic or character portayal that first won it in 2009. For instance, Draeck won last year for Best Fight Scene with Lockdown vs Jazz. How about making the Best Fight Scene trophy based on a simple shot of jazz and lockdown standing side-by-side in some dramatic fashion? Or is that too much? What do you all think?
It came to a halt because people were done voting. Slim down the categories this year. Last years, we had plenty and went too far beyond what was wanted.
