Anyone have suggestions for laptops? All I know is I don't want Apple or HP (the one I currently have).
Well, that sucks about needing a new laptop. I currently use a Compaq laptop, so... I suggest trying out a Compaq.
Well, that is just great. I just finished reading this and then it has to go on hiatus. But, still very funny and I love that Shinken Red is Barry the Chopper
good laptop brands that are reliable (at least in this corner of the planet) - asus - acer - toshiba - lenovo - dell and avoid compaq at all costs... because that's no more than a "rebranded" HP... (since compaq belongs to HP so...)
Oh don't worry, you won't be waiting too long. I have acquired a new laptop! Went with the one bolded. Really cheap too.
It's not THAT bad. Just rapid bob your head up and down while wearing #D glasses and everything should look fine. Seriously, though, stinks to hear that happened, but good to hear you got a new one!
Okay people, just a quick update on things. I got the new laptop Friday night and things have been going GREAT with it. But you may be wondering where updates have been since I've got a brand new laptop. Funny thing is, the laptop didn't come with Microsoft Office. I guess they don't normally come with it, actually. I couldn't open any of the dialogue documents to make the comics even if I wanted to. But rather than spend hundreds of dollars getting all the Office stuff, I waited until today when I'm back at school and could buy it all for just $15 through our campus bookstore. So I've only now had a chance to start transferring everything over to the new laptop. Two and a Half Robots and Into the Shadows are both safely transferred. I like that I started with the two comics I'm NOT currently working on. But expect some Forced Peace updates soon, hopefully. And with Thanksgiving break next week, maybe some Sharkticomics updates too.
Yeah, that's one con in buying a laptop... at least with the ones I bought, they only allowed you to use the Microsoft Office programs like Word and Powerpoint for about 30 days then you have to buy a product key to get the full version. =/ But glad that you're working on transferring things from the old to the new laptop, and I'm definitely looking forward to new updates of both Forced Peace and the main Sharkticomics.
Why anyone still buys MS office is beyond me anyway. *shrug* Apache OpenOffice - The Free and Open Productivity Suite
You raise an excellent point. But by the same token, I'm currently using OpenOffice for all my Office needs, since my new computer doesn't have MSO either (and that's on top of being a sucky computer too...) and I'm not a huge fan of it. I guess I'm just so used to the layout and such with MSO that it was too big of a jump to OO.
Sing-a-long time! Comic #602 CLICK FOR SONG The next update will come when I decide to get Shadow Prime out of the Shadow Commander outfit.
