A solid bit of backstory, so far. With disturbing parallels to both the 1930s and to right now... which I shan't say any more about because this is not a place for political discussion. I mention it merely to note this is resonating with me. Your definition and Mr. Furman's both work if one assumes a Cybertronian cycle is 60 Earth hours, you know. "Cycle" would be the Cybertronian term for one planetary rotation, much as "day" means that in English. If we then suppose the Cybertronians used the term both as a specific unit of time, and to refer to one rotation of whatever planet they were on, we get a decacycle being 21 Earth cycles. Yay problem even more solved! Also, yay Krank and Stax!
Ah, internet. The best mass-propaganda tool ever! Far from the only one, but the easiest to reach out to a large, passive audience with. Yes, Sunstorm really doesn't get it, does he? I love having him around! I don't view this as satire. South Park is an excellent example of (crude) satire. Satire ridicules. Good (a highly subjective term) satire ridicules with the overt aim of changing behaviour (which makes it a form of propaganda). This update isn't ridiculing, at least not in my mind. I'm making social commentary. Thanks! The undertones in this chapter are my favorite part, and I'm glad someone is enjoying them! Ouch, my head hurts now! Great points though. And to increase the pain, "cycle" could also be the Cybertronian term for a single solar year! They are awesome little toys, and thoroughly enjoyed their cameos. I love backstory: it gives me a chance to showcase all the awesome MPs that didn't exist when I started my comic. And there are more to come...
Dude, just got caught up on Retribution, amazing story you've made. How do you you build your sets, I'd like to do the same for my shelves to make them distinctly less shelf like.
lol! Glad you're enjoying my commentary. Thanks for the compliment! It's nice to hear that people still enjoy this little tale. As for the sets, the panels are based upon samples others have created, though I have made a few of my own based on said samples. You can find links to them at on my site | Bad news: I was in a car accident a few months ago. I'm not badly hurt, but damaged enough that things like working at a computer are difficult (and fieldwork is a no-go). I'll post when I can but there is, sadly, no timeline to my return. It's not all bad news though. I'm also getting married in about 6 weeks, so that too is keeping me from my comic (not that I mind!)
congrats on the wedding mate. Sorry to hear about the accident just before your wedding. Think of it this way, if you use up all your bad luck before the wedding then the day should go smoothly (and there are far worce things that can happen before a wedding, trust me I know, so I hope that's the worst of it) that's pretty much what happened at mine. the day ran without too many major problems. Weddings are chaostic on the run up so take your time and most of all, enjoy the day. The best advice I can give you is keep a level head. Something will go wrong, be it big or small, the best thing to do is not panic (even when others around you are). On the day the smallest of hiccups may seem larger problems than what they really are. We had a problem with the wedding cake (a friend of ours was going to make one specially for us but the day before she split from her husband, a quick trip and we got a cake, it wasn't what we expected but it was a cake). Stay calm, keep a level head. Problems very rarely get solved when you panic.
damn... this is AMAZING! i just finished chapter 16! i cant wait to read more! --- on other news sorry about your accident and congratulations on your marriage!
I finally caught up on the website! Damn, this is an amazing comic! I cannot wait to see more! Also congrats on getting wedded! Hope you two live a long and happy life together.
Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone! The wedding was just a few days ago and went absolutely perfect. We did it all ourselves, including cooking for the reception we hosted in our home. Our families both pitched in immensely during the final week, which was a humbling and amazing present. Mr and Dr. StarFire_MK2 couldn't be happier! And now, I'm happily eating leftovers and having a few drinks as I continue to work on Retribution. I'm loving this flashback chapter, but the flashback panels take forever to produce. I spent 2 days on a single panel. Two. Days. Updates are coming soon!
Congrats on getting hitched, and best wishes for the future! I just got all caught up, and I love the new chapter, which spotlights so many reasons that I try to avoid social media whenever possible... Great story as always, and loving the effects!
I wish you the best of luck on the marriage, and I am sure you will recover from your accident well, looking forward to more of the comic.
Thanks for the well-wishes! My new bride and I are very happy, and she's encouraging me to get back to work on this comic. In fact, Dr. StarFire_MK2 specializes in the ideology of conflict and she helped refine a few word choices in this latest section, as well as made Sunstorm a more active participant thus far. I'm glad people are enjoying this chapter, it is one of my favorites, too!
