Is it still broken, SD? I can see it on my end. Please let me know; I may have to get a mod to look into this. I've had a few complaints before from one or two people who couldn't see an image that I could. Yeah, I'm not quite happy with the smoke either. I'll play with it for future updates, although since the next installment is ready to go I'm going to leave them as is. I'll try do a tutorial soon. I'm using photoshop, and a nifty little program called lsmaker, which was designed to add lightsaber fx to video. It makes adding lasers fx a 2-second job, and since I'm lazy, that's what I went for with Skywarp's lasers. Sunstreaker's were photoshopped. 1 or 2 of the explosion elements were also created via lsmaker, but 99% of all this comic uses photoshop. Soon, I promise... I've been off sick for the last few days, which has allowed me to catch up on my story! New sections have been written, and I'm nearly done photoshopping the next 2 updates as well Thanks for all the feedback, too--I've tried new smoke effects in the update which follows this one.
Awesome visuals! The image composition works REALLY well. And a nice use of Sunstreaker's bio motto as well. Though from the look of things, his smugness will be short lived...
Update 2 of 2 for Sept 03. I hope this makes up for what has been a fairly dialogue-heavy, action-light story thus far. Next week we finally meet the Decepticon's newest recruit!
Great effects and great story. Excellent stuff! By the way youre BT Prowl's arms seem a lot whiter than mine. Did you paint them or are mine yellowing?
The vendetta...is on. Good stuff! You really get a sense of Sunstreaker's sense of loss and concern for his brother, and the bits of skywarp lying in the grass were a nice touch. Did you actually take Skywarp and Sideswipe apart to get those shots? Oh, and Sunstreaker's HUD?
Guilt and anger... always a good motivation for some character drama. Let's hope it doesn't cause Sunstreaker to make another mistake.
I painted the head, arms and thighs of my Prowl. He's a KO, and was quite yellow to start. Yup. Well, kind of. Sideswipe has been in pieces for years, ever since I decided I wanted to make him into Sunstreaker. I ignored all my years of paint experience and didn't prime him (he's still yellow actually--I photoshopped the red), and totally botched a leg mod for him. He's been in pieces ever since. This was my way of explaining his absence. The Skywarp on the ground was a repaint I did of the original MP Starscream, and things likewise went awry...like my breaking his arm trying to remove a pin I should never have touched, and the infamous wing-flange flaw snapped his wing off.
