Photoshop 6, and it turns out there's a tool called, 'move tool(v)' that, interestingly enough, moves stuff...I'm an idiot! I've only figured out how to move one bit at a time, but its something. How do you make an all white background to put the text into? I've had PS6 for several years, just never used it since I had photodeluxe that I knew how to use for the basic redeye and cropping type stuff...whew lots of curve to learn here that's for sure.

Yeah, Slumblebee can handle his end of the business...

:music  aaaaand, we have a winner!!! Jack Handey FTW :rock
BTW: nothing to do with D.H. Lawrence at all.

Well You've got your image as the "background" layer and then the text should automatically be separate layers per quote. Just place the text where you want it first, then click on the background layer in the layer window and add a new transparent layer. Then you can just use the rectangle/rounded rectangle/oval tool to draw boxes behind your text.

Hey I just did that after I posted this last one, and used the second pic to try it on, and man that is sooo much better than the makeshift funky way I was trying to do it, Thanks Buddy!! My wife was saying she was having a hard time seeing the punctuation, and now this solves that problem too...Woot!

Next question, how do you make your white text bubble indicators/arrows...?

Well I use a graphics tablet so I just select the brush tool and draw it freehand, it allows pressure sensitivity so I can make it sort of get thinner as it gets to their mouth by not pressing as hard. Without a tablet just use the line tool in the same layer as the text boxes you can set up a "bezier curve" line by changing the line tool, that will let you at least make it curved if you want.

Ripclaw, If you "dunno myself" of your location, how do you expect other TFwer's to go to lunch with you :p

G13...you don't have to squat, I've got a guest bedroom :ev:

Thanks for comments guys. Please feel free to give me tips, ShadowDragon's text bubbles tip will improve these a ton, so any other ideas you guys have, let me know cuz when I say I don't know how to use photoshop, I'm really not kidding. But I sure am having fun, I should've taken the plunge long ago...

Edit: SD..ah a tablet huh, what's a good one to get, cuz I saw two at Best Buy the other day, one was like $60 and the other was at least twice as much, that would be something to look into getting with my newly acquired birthday money hehehe.

I was just teasing bro. I've met a few other board members in my area, but only to go on hunting trips, but those are fun too! Are there just not any people in your area? Come on out to Utah and tell you what, I'll buy you lunch too! Open invite...

I got the intuos 3 from BB, the $199 version. The Bamboo & Bamboo fun should be okay for light work, you just lose tilt sensitivity and I believe it doesn't have quite as many levels of pressure sensitivity. Just make sure it's a waacom.

But you'll make Gary "Optimus Primal/AEC Prime" Chalk cry. :(

Prime + vox-helmet = a pretty fair bobblehead, by the look of things. Is that actually
    resting on Leader Prime somehow?

Is this a good time to mention how I make speech bubbles?

Letter in GIMP on blank white background, save as BMP.
Open in Paint, draw borders to fit. Bucket-fill around in useless color (pink is good)

Open unlettered comic panel in Paint. Cut and paste balloons from other image.
Set useless color to background, pick "paste without background" (lower icon), drag balloons around until they're where I like 'em. Add leaders using Paint.

(I prefer opaque bubbles myself. I'm trying to go for a cheesy old comic style.)

Part of my problem is I feel like I'm letting folks down if I don't update on a regular basis. Yet I was starting to run into the dilemia of where to go with certain storylines and the more comics I read I would absorb those ideas. So taking a break to focus on another project has been good for clearing my head. :)

    Lunch on Otispq! Woot! :lol

Good comic you have going here too. :D

    SD: Waacom, Check!

AB: yes, the helmet chin is resting into the groove between Prime's kneecap thingys (protrusions?) and the back of it I sneeked onto the window ledge..hehehe.
Thanks for your bubble tips, Unfortunately I don't use Gimp, but maybe I can figure out how to do it in photoshop.

TC: I laughed at your "guffaw". Sounds like something my dad would say, and that's a compliment cuz I love & respect the man. He'd also say you guys are my cronies, and that's cool too.

DA: I apologize that I haven't read your funnies yet, I'm still slogging through Shanes "uber-thousands long" Comic, I keep telling myself to only read the actual strips, but I can't help myself and I read the comments too. But I'll get to it asap!

Everyone: Lunch on Otispq...otay. You make it to Utah and let me know and it's on. I set my own work hours so it's no problemo to make it happen.
