I wouldn't be opposed to reading a written version of what you had planned for this to end.

worked for Battlefudge (due to him selling half of his cast and not having the budget for the concluding arc), so if you have to, we have no problem with extra reading. (or you could go the route that Grimlock_13 is doing, getting some of the archives/ commentaries done while gearing up for the next arc)

More than an overview than anything else, but this should at least give an ending of sorts to everything. My thanks to everyone who followed this comic as I was making it, and to any and everyone who takes the time to read the wall of text below. I had a lot of fun making it and hope that in the future I'll find the time to make another only this time I'll try and keep my story ideas a little more managable for myself...

    ---

    Previously in Falldown’s Transformer Photocomic...

Starscream, exiled for his disobedience threatening the uneasy situation between the Autobots and Decepticons, was invited by Astrotrain to join a group calling themselves the True Decepticons. Lead by Lugnut this faction’s goal was to live up to Megatron’s ideal of peace through tyranny, and ultimately to track down their absent commander. Starscream was given a new body – one of the conditions of his exile being the disabling of his old bodies weapon systems – and placed in command of the True Decepticons aerial forces.

The True Decepticons made themselves known to the main collection of figures, inviting all the Decepticons except Nemesis Prime to join Lugnut. Only Soundwave and his troops as well as a handful of other Decepticons declined Lugnut’s offer. This gave a large boost in numbers to the True Decepticons while greatly reducing the number of Transformers in the main collection.

While the True Decepticons new recruits were being assigned to their new roles other developments were occurring at their hidden base. Swindle had been able to purchase combiner components as well as a sophisticated AI from a group of small multiversal traders. The combiner technology was used to give the Combaticons the ability to form Bruticus, while the AI was utilized to upgrade Lugnut’s small army of Animated Seeker drones.

To keep tabs on the movements of the other toys in the collection Starscream had Skywarp warping in and out of rooms to do reconnaissance. When Skywarp was discovered by Air Raid he used his warping abilities to shoot the Autobot down, then warp back to the True Decepticon’s hidden base...

    How events were to follow...

Doing his regular clean up duties Wreck-Gar stumbles upon the body of Air Raid. Sending one of the WALL-E he purchased from Sideways (yes, that Sideways. He sometimes does honest work!) ahead to notify one of the Ratchet’s he carries Air Raid’s body back to the Autobots. Meeting him at the door Ratchet is quick to determine that nothing can be done for Air Raid. It is obvious he’s been shot but he’ll need time to try and determine who could have done it.

At the True Decepticon’s base Starscream is furious at Skywarp for engaging the Autobots without his orders. It now falls to him to inform Lugnut, and Starscream is unsure how he’ll take the news. Ultimately Lugnut is unconcerned. The AI for the Seeker drones seems to be functioning perfectly, and Bruticus has been performing exceptionally in his combat trials. They’re ready to make their move.

Ratchet informs Optimus, Nemesis, Ultra Magnus and Ricochet of his findings. Scans revealed residual Decepticon energy signatures on Air Raid’s body. As Nemesis is able to account for the whereabouts of the few remaining Decepticons allied with the Autobots that only leaves one of Lugnut’s group as the attacker. Optimus doesn’t want to assume the entirety of the True Decepticons are to blame, but word comes in from scouts that the True Decepticons are massing in the laundry and have erected fortifications.

Ratchet is told to ready the other medics while the others discuss how they’re going to deal with this situation. They rule out sending a group to negotiate, the unprovoked attack on Air Raid leading them to conclude they’d be shot on sight. They’re still uncertain of the True Decepticons motivations, although their apparent devotion to Megatron’s ideals leaves them with two likely possibilities – conquering the collection and obtaining the Autobot Matrix.

Ultimately they decide the safest thing to do is to evacuate the civilian toys to the farthest part of the house and ready their own fortifications. While the other leaders go about coordinating these efforts Optimus Prime seeks out Wheeljack. Handing him the Matrix he tells him to go with the civilian toys and to keep it safe. Wheeljack tries to protest but Optimus is adamant and he eventually relents.

The actions of the Autobots and their allies does not go unnoticed by the True Decepticons, but Lugnut is not concerned. He had always anticipated resistance. He tells his lieutenants not to act hastily, that their victory is a sure thing.

It’s night-time when the True Decepticons attack. The Transformers are backed up by the Star Wars miniatures of the New Republic formed after the fall of the Empire, SG-1, the Ninja Turtles, and superhero Mighty Muggs. The attack comes from the air, and the Transformers are quick to scramble their fliers under the command of Sunstorm.

The Autobots and their allies fight valiantly through the night, facing off with wave after seemingly endless wave of attackers. By the end of the night there are very few injuries and no fatalities. They’re tired, a little low on ammo, but have come through the attack relatively unscathed.

From their fortifications in the laundry Lugnut laughs at the Autobots. How foolish they all are. They’ve only been fighting his drones, wasting their energy, and now he’s ready for the real assault. He orders his troops in.

The second assault hits the tired Autobots hard, taking out many of them before they’re able to respond. Decepticon forces on the ground march seemingly uncontested through the battlefield while Starscream’s fliers rain destruction from the air. Optimus Primal is able to rally the remaining forces behind him – including Cheetor and Arcee – halting the ground troops advance.

But none of the Autobot’s expected the Decepticons to have a combiner amongst their number. The Combaticons form Bruticus, and their advance begins again. Back at the Autobots main base Ultra Magnus – the only figure in the collection with any experience fighting combiners* – rushes out to join the battle.

The fight between Magnus and Bruticus is intense. Magnus’ size and knowledge of Combiner weak points allows him to do severe damage to Bruticus, but the ferocity of Bruticus’ attacks are equally damaging to Magnus. Bruticus ultimately falls when Magnus is able to disconnect Swindle and Blast Off from the main Gestalt and kill them. But the remaining three Combaticons are able to overpower the crippled Magnus and take him out.

The True Decepticons are able to fight their way through to the Autobots main base. There is a tense standoff between Lugnut and his lieutenants and Optimus and the other high ranking members of the collection. But Lugnut issues Optimus a challenge. To fight him one on one, as cliché as it is, to determine which side has won. Optimus agrees.

The two seem evenly matched, with the fight going back and forward between the two as to who seems to have the upper hand. It is only when Lugnut is able to knock Optimus off his feet, then delivering a POKE to his chest, that the fight is finally decided. But Optimus is defiant even in death.

“You may have defeated me,” he taunts, “but you will never get your hands on the Matrix.”

“The Matrix?” The very thought makes Lugnut laugh. “You thought this was about the Matrix? What would I want with that useless Autobot trinket?”

Optimus’ last moments are to see Lugnut claim his real prize – the teleporter discovered by SG-1 and being worked on by Wheeljack. With Optimus dead Lugnut turns his attention to Nemesis Prime. He tells him the Autobots and other toys are to lay down their weapons, but will otherwise be left unharmed. He doesn’t care what they do so long as they stay out of his way, and this room in particular. With that the survivors are escorted out.

Weeks pass, with the True Decepticons trying and failing to get the teleporter working while the Autobot’s and other toys try to rebuild their lives. A small group of Transformers, under Nemesis Prime, are working on establishing a resistance but things are progressing slowly as they have no way of gathering weapons or other resources. Wheeljack has passed the Matrix to Ricochet, the highest ranking surviving Autobot, but he has not taken the title of Prime for himself.

Lugnut reprimands Skorponok and Starscream for their inability to get the teleporter working. They point out that the system designed to interface with the device makes no sense to them, and they’ve only begun to scratch the surface with regards to deciphering it. Starscream comments that he recognises the unusual code as Wheeljack’s and that only a madbot such as him would have any hope of working it.

Lugnut sends troops out to search for Wheeljack, but keeps Starscream and Skorponok working. They can’t be certain Wheeljack wasn’t a casualty of the fighting weeks earlier and if they can’t figure out his code they’ll have to start working on the device from scratch. Lugnut then goes off to speak with Astrotrain in private.

The True Decepticons search the house for Wheeljack, bullying any other civilians they encounter. Nemesis Prime and his group move to challenge them but they threaten to begin killing civilians randomly if Wheeljack doesn’t show himself. Wheeljack, unwilling to see anyone die for him, turns himself in.

With word of Wheeljack being brought in Starscream seeks Lugnut to tell him the good news. He overhears Lugnut and Astrotrain talking about other preparations, some plan it seems none of the other lieutenants are aware of, so hangs back to eavesdrop. He’s noticed before any solid details are revealed, and quickly informs Lugnut of his news so as not to arouse any suspicions.

With Wheeljack helping them the three of them are able to get the teleporter working properly. The multiversal targeting system is properly calibrated and a program written to begin scanning the multiverse for Megatron’s. When Lugnut has found the universe he believes the true, glorious Megatron inhabits he gathers the few troops he feels are truly loyal to his side. He then turns to Astrotrain to ask if everything is ready.

“The bombs are in place,” Astrotrain replies, “All who know of your plan, that you were ever here, will perish.”

Starscream is horrified. It is revealed he knew that Lugnut planned to leave this universe to seek Megatron, but that rule over it had been promised to Starscream for his loyalty.

“You will rule as promised. If you survive.”

Starscream, enraged, throws himself at Lugnut. And even though his actions are as selfish as ever – Starscream only caring he’s once again been denied power – he does probably the only good deed he’s ever done. Firing upon the teleporter targeting system with his null rays he scrambles to device, then with himself and Lugnut inside the ring activates the teleporter.

The two appear in a barren wasteland. There is no technology, no life of any kind in sight. They are trapped, alone. Both still fuelled by rage they set upon each other in a vicious, pointless brawl.

Back in the main house those True Decepticons that were to be abandoned by Lugnut turn on the small group he was to take with him. Before they can act out Galvatron stands before them, saying if they turn on their fellow Decepticons they’re no better than Lugnut. Lost, unsure of their place now, the majority turn themselves over to the other toys.

They are surprised to be met with very little hostility. Things are far from perfect, but if the Decepticons were able to integrate once before Nemesis Prime and Ricochet feel they can do so again. Some of the Decepticons have to be imprisoned, all others are put to work as punishment for their actions, but most find the work gives them purpose. In the end there would be no Autobots or Decepticons, just the toys of the collection.

    ---

*For those who might not remember, Ultra Magnus had been part of an earlier collection of figures. He was put into stasis when it was feared the conflict between those Autobots and Decepticons and gotten out of hand, and that if there were any Transformers present in the collection there would always be war. He was revived by the Lego Men when their rule failed and they moved on.

Wow, that was pretty interesting. Shame we will never see the rest of the story in comic form.

I can only hope that you will return to making comics again.

You know, this was one of the 1st transformers funnies I read back in 2007.
It's sad to see it had to end this way.
Also, after reading one of the comics, it raised a question I was hoping some of the older members could answer:What was the nature of the Sage vs. spoon rivalry?
