Thanks for the comments. Glad to entertain, even if it's with just random short updates.

I'm a ghost, I can explain things myself .

Just playing with some spaceship ideas. Started with the most basic ways of doing things I could think of. Now to ponder how to make a planet that doesn't look too cartoony.

If you're wondering, that model was of the Republic ship seen at the beginning of Episode I. I intend for the ship in that picture to the The Ark. I have the same style of ship in another 2 paint schemes to be other Autobot vessels. Grey for the standard military and red for the Elite Guard.

Well, the Titanium Ark uses the exact same mold as a Star Wars ship so yeah.

It's a g-g-ghost!

Now you can have hilarious Ghost Dad antics. Or something else entirely.

Good space shot! One thing you can do to make a planet is shoot a model or even a ball bearing, or start with a cartoon shot, then desaturate it slightly, add some airbrushed haze, and blur it slightly. Takes away a lot of the toony-ness, but leaves just enough to look well with toys.

The best thing to do, maybe, is look through NASA photos and copy what you see...but then you may run into the peculiar trouble that reality often looks fake.

Update, 11/22/09: "Through the Heart."

Ghosts are awesome (not countin J-Horror kid ones XD, I mean the traditional ones about bein' somethin' else than just douches) and that ship frame is awesome.

I'll keep watchin' how this goes. ^^

This is what I thought looked a bit too cartoony:

This was trying the desaturation and blurring:

the one at the bottum is quite good, as for the top one i think if you add shading to it it'll look less cartoony as you say

Blurring edges can also help on some parts, like planet edges. Refer to planetary photo's for reference.

I really love seein' more effort at creatin' vaster worlds than just your own room in any funnies (as I've attempted with varying succeess ^^; )
