Well, knew it was going to end this way. Shockwave was pretty much a goner the moment Big Grim showed up. Epic ending for ole' Cyclops here.
"T'is but a scratch!" Beating someone to death with their own soul. It's Dinobot for "I don't like you." Hey now, would Silverstreak do that to Mir...y'know what, yeah, forget I said that. From Grimlock's point of view, killing Shockwave was totally kosher. In fact, he would have felt he'd betrayed Slag, Snarl, Swoop and Sludge had he NOT done it. However, he is very much aware that Prime and a lot of the Autobots will certainly not see it that way. He's totally expecting to face some serious music for what he's just done, but for him that's just another occupational hazard for living by a code he swore his life to. It also worth pointing out that Grimlock in OOTDL has a deep, DEEP respect for Prime (backstory coming later down the line to shed a little light on Prime and Grimlock's past), which is why he'll go to the stockade on Prime's word, rather than just tell him to frag off. Prowl, however, would have totally gotten told to frag off. As for Twitter...Grimlock might well mention this incident at some point... (Oh, and great DOTM reference!) Me Grimlock could, but it would result in universe exploding. Which would be awesome. But Me sort of like universe. All my stuff is there. Out Of The Dead Land still has some tale left to tell. We're in Season 3 and I reckon we'll be about 6-7 seasons for the whole thing. I'm currently averaging about 1 season every two years....I need to speed this up! As for Swindle and Dead End, they were indeed last seen plummeting off a cliff. We didn't actually see the impact or the bodies, but a fall like that must have killed them, right? Me Grimlock know no other way. And if there is other way, Me Grimlock really bad at learning it. Me Grimlock categorise them by colour, size and sparkley-ness. Sometimes Me use them as lamps, or glow-sticks for one of Blaster's rave-parties. It funny, people get really prissy when you start waving the souls of fallen foes around on the dance floor. I forsee you might well be right. Sort of Altered Carbon style? Or as Prime did in the IDW Furman run? That would be cool, actually. Science Fiction does certainly hold that out as a good escape option. However... ...yep. In this case, Shockwave is gone. Spark and mind, all gone. That's an interesting point, isn't it. It's probably not just Optimus as well. It's the kind of issue that might cause quite an argument between quite a number of the Autobots... Me Grimlock enjoy revenge. Hot? Cold? Me say it best served with total fear and shattering pain. But then, Me something of a sentimental old thing. Thanks AMG. How the Autobots deal with Grimlock is going to be something of a story point going forward. It will have implications... Thanks dude. But Shockwave doesn't known anyone called Richard.... Me Grimlock say: It not so much one-upping as trying to teach by example. Movie Prime still too fluffy and cute for my liking, Me trying to teach him bloodlust. Pretty much. The next season is all about getting the My Little Ponies invited around for a tea party. Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Twilight Sparkle have been SO looking forward to it, and apparently Wheeljack has found a way to distill energon into cake and sweets, so everyone can have a great time! Wheeljack assures me that there is no truth to the rumour that energon cakes have the same effect on ponies as concentrated LSD. None at all. Sunstreaker assures me that if Wheeljack is wrong, he's got more than enough softcore antipersonnel rounds the armoury to cope. Can't have powerful magical wildlife trippin' balls in the Autobot base. No way. Ain't right. Me Grimlock always like to set new challenges for creative maiming. Me once set myself goal of beating Starscream to death with his own spine. But Me look, and look, and could never find the damn thing... Also, Me Grimlock say Me Grimlock like you. You have firm grasp of reality. Prime his own worst enemy sometimes, but Me Grimlock tell him time and again and he never listen. Sometimes, better to not let him make the mistakes he might regret, hmm? Thanks dude. Life is up and down right now, got my new job and my new home, which is cool. Also got a family member in hospital, which isn't cool, but they appear to be over the worst and have started on the road to recovery, which IS cool. It's one of the reasons why the update was a little delayed. There's also ANOTHER reason for the delay, which could be SUPERCOOL but also might amount to nothing, but if anything ever develops on that front I'll post about it in more detail. For now, I don't want to jinx it. I'm really glad the RX-8 has an opening chest, it saved me a ton of FX work. One of the nice things about Transformers having TF schemes and pop-off limbs and kibble is that your GIMP time can be carefully cut down if you plan your injuries well. Laziness drives everything I do Yep. One damaged and disarmed Shockwave, one undamaged, armed and furious Grimlock. It was pretty much always going to go this way. I did consider something like that, but in the end I decided that Shockwave wouldn't do it. He knows, logically, that he's finished, and that nothing he can say can stop Grimlock, so he decided to hang on to his dignity and face death without pleading. (Well, hang onto as much dignity as you can whilst being force-fed your own soul.) He's made of stern stuff, Shockwave.
Amazing storytelling, good shots and posing. And hell, I've read through 3 years of awesome story telling! - The more I read, the more I feel for Windcharger and Grimlock. This is fragging good!
You know, shockwave COULD have switched bodies (to a cybertronian all surface dragster maybe?) and that was a "clone" with a modified spark, maybe a corrupted old autobot spark? ...nah. And Coolhand, you and your wheeljack got 20% cooler with that energon cake study.
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG. Ripped his spark out and fed it back to him. Nice.
XD As if in piercin' someone with the ribs you tore out of'em... But yeah, this is one of those times when someone actually just effin' takes out the villain who's had it coming for a long time. Usually very satisfying, even if Shockwave was a cool rather than just simply despicable villain.
Shockwave was one cool, calculated and utterly evil guy. He knew damn well if things got bad he could end up like this. I really like his ending, the finality to his wicked schemes. His plot couldn't have been more evil, and the way he left the story more appropriate. To quote an American special forces phrase: "mess with the best, die like the rest".
I really look forward to the Autobots conflict regarding Grimlock. I hold your photo-comic in VERY high regard, I am sure it will be a very intresting read seeing the fall-out of all this. Besides that, I cant wait to find out about Optimus and Grimlocks past.
The last OoTDL? He already stated that this was something like Chapter 2 of a planned 6 chapters, so I'm guessing no, it's not the last one.
Revenge is like beer. Best served cold, somewhat fizzy, and if you have too much revenge in one night you start falling over and telling people you love them, then call your ex and beg her to take you back.... ...okay, maybe it's not like beer at all. Thanks mate, glad you're enjoying the story so far. Damn, people are coming up with loads of cool ways too keep Shockwave alive. Sadly, bringing the cyclops back would sort of mess with the direction of the story from here on out, but nonetheless, that's a cool idea. Fed it back to him with fries and a large coke. Burp. Me Grimlock say: Me proud of movie Prime. Him been taking to heart the lessons me gave him. And the brass knuckles Me gave him too... Yup, the Cyclops had been overdrawn at the karma bank for quite some time, and eventually the dinobots came home to roost... We apologise for that hideously mangled analogy. Normal service will resume shortly. Messing with Dinobots is indeed rather hazardous to your health. In fact, most experts agree that ingestion of your own spark can often lead to extreme cases of fatal death. Thanks dude. I'll endeavour not to let you down. Ah, the Ravage tail thing. I actually did know about that, yeah, but only after I'd been messing around with the figure for about six months. It's not obvious at first that the licence plate flips around, and when I first did it I thought I'd broken him! But when I realised it was intentional, it made a cool figure even cooler. Thanks for posting it though, a lot of people miss that feature. Nope, there's one last post for this season to come. It's quite long, but I'm GIMP'ing it now. Hope to have it up in the next couple of weeks Yep, there's one last update to come for this chapter, and then we're onto the next. I'd say we're roughly a third of the way through at this point. Right, my apologies for the delay in getting the final update of this season posted. I'm studying for my CCNA at the moment (IT geeks, throw yo hands up!) and that's taking up a lot of my time, and I've got a family member in hospital who's condition is serious but gradually improving every day, and so I'm spending a lot of free time with them. However, outside of work, study and visiting hours, I AM doing a bit on the comic every day because doing so keeps my brain sane. Thanks for sticking with me during these delays guys, I really appreciate it.
Gimp faster...please. I going on vacation to the 13th century and am not sure if we'll have our mail delivered by the ethereal mystics.
Stop lying to the man to get him to push his comics out faster! If you can get to the 13th century, so can your mail. I hate having to go to the USPS to get my mail forwarded like the next person, but there it is. How does that song go? Not rain, nor sleet, nor fourth dimension? Something something something...
