And then at the start, they were more...$25 IIRC.
Fortunately, there was a window of opportunity at the end of the line, when some of the later waves got clearanced at $12-$15, and I was able to get a few. Very nifty they are, even now that we've had so many great classic characters at the Deluxe size (which I prefer to the larger sizes). They're a little too complex to have a lot of "fiddle value". I like to transform them, but I don't do it as often as with simpler toys.
They're great PR tools. When people see that the model car on the shelf actually changes into a robot, they have to see you do it again, and take it down and fiddle with it to see if they can make it work, too. My father-in-law was quite fascinated by the concept.   |
