Just discovered this a week or so ago and couldn't stop reading till the end. Man is it amazing Coolhand great writing phenomenal photos and effects I just love it. Great work all around.

He presents all of them, and leaves the reader to go forth and dig more if they are interested via the sources cited in the appendix and glossary at the back of the book.

Splendid geek-out stuff. Sometimes these "reply from the author" posts are as much fun as the comic itself!

BTW, is "archeology" the standard UK spelling?

The novel thing never came of unfortunately- I got over quite a few hurdles and managed to get quite far down the submission road, but in the end they passed and went with something else. No big deal, happens all the time in publishing. Watch this space though, coz a new door opens every time an old one closes…

My mother’s doing very well now, thanks for asking. Rehabilitation from a head injury is something that never really ends but she’s making good progress and now I have an endless supply of brain-injury jokes to throw at her. As long as I’m out of range.

Just curious, I was watching the review for MP Soundwave and thought of you. I know you bought him, is he going to be the soundwave in the comic?

I have considered it, but money is tight in Coolhand land, and since I have the older Thundercracker already I'm focusing on dudes I don't have. My priority is "Can I use it in the comic?" If I can't use it in the comic, it has to be awesome (basically an MP figure) for me to buy it.

In other words, if you see the new Thundercracker and Starscream molds pop up in the comic, you'll know I got a pay rise.

Ooooooh....tricky.
See, the script for OOTDL is done. the story is pretty much set. I do have some wiggle room, and I can shuffle some things about, but I can go nuts with the changes or it'll screw with the arc of the overall tale.
If I include new people who were not around when the original script was done, I really want it to be enhance the story and have something meaningful for them to do. I added the MP coneheads because no-one really cares if Dirge, Thrust and Ramjet are just background dudes (They actually do have more to do than just background scenery, but they're certainly not going to be at the core of the story in the way Ravage, Jazz, Starscream or Silverstreak are) but someone like Soundwave, who is a huge character and deserves careful treatment, needs to be done properly and have a big part in the tale, or not done at all.

That doesn't mean he won't show up. It does mean I have to be happy that Soundwave fans will be happy.
