Another great update. I can't get enough of this strip. This is truly fascinating.
Btw what type of animal-bot did Mirage hunt?

    Thank you. :)

Well, his G1 Toy bio has him down as hunting "Turbo-Foxes" but I can quite see that someone with Mirage's hunting obsession and priviliged lifestyle would have frequently jetted of around the galaxy looking for bigger and better prey. So if it moves, and is sufficently challenging, I imagine that he's tried to put it's head on his trophy wall.

Sort of like a snootier, more upper-class version of the Predator.. :D

I'd also say that Mirage has hunted many things quite capable of hunting him back. So he's certainly not just plugging small cute creatures with an air-rifle at point blank range.

It is indeed a very grey area. Its like trying to define animal behavior in human terms. We can observe familiar signs, but without knowing their exact thoughts its still speculation at best and a somewhat biased assessment too. Sometimes I think we forget that only humans truly act human when trying to explain things. :)

Honestly, I struggled with introducing the idea in my comic. Knowing how divided opinions can be on the subject, I was afraid it would alienate many readers. Fortunately everyone in this forum has proven to be pretty open-minded. And I'm glad to see others exploring similar relationships in their comics.

    :lol

And I'm looking at it from my "young woman" perspective that prefers the lovey-dovey emotional angle of romance. So I think we're even. :D

Good installments, by the way. I'm glad you finally let us in on Mirage's thoughts. I've become quite fond of the character in general and seeing your take on him is fun. :)

In just seven panels, you made me go from hating Mirage's guts to kind of liking him. Well done! :D

Excellent stuff you have here. Great writing, awesome effects. I'm really liking your Mirage so far, I look forward to seeing more of him.

I love the personalties. Mirage is all "I'm rich, cater to my pretentious little desires."

Silverstreak is all like, "Blah blah blah, yer a jerk. " :p

    Loves it!!

His classics bio says he now protects Turbo-foxes from extinction.

I stick to his cartoon Bio, that he really wants to back on cybertron and Hates war.

Awesome beyond words man. The photoshop effects is top notch and the storytelling is way cool. Definitely one of the best threads in the funnies (if you can even consider this as funnies) :D

...And people wonder why my split personality is female. I may be a teenage boy, but that's how I see romance too... And I'm staying out of the whole TF/romance debate for right now.
I'm not. You can have a loving, romantic relationship without sex or even physical attraction whatsoever. Trust me, I know from experience. ;)

Ah, the sniper. If I were to be forced into military service, I'd want that job too. Unless I could just do computer work or something. And nice configuration for Mirage's gun(s), never thought about trying that... And as always, your SFX and writing is kick-aft, and I am envious. v.v

Heh... I have to agree. REALLY good effects there! I'm going to have to steal a few of those ideas and see if I can reproduce a little of that (The fire effects anyway)

Thanks again for everyone’s comments. You guys rock. :thumb

:lol  I didn’t know that was his classics bio. How's that for irony! I guess the Classics Mirage spends his time trying to undo the effects that the G1 Mirage had on the TurboFox population...
It is interesting how some of the more extreme Transformers have had their personalities toned down over time. Personally, I think it’s a shame, because I find the “less-than-good” good guys fascinating. As well as the “not-all-bad” bad guys.
But I guess the good thing about having multiple versions of the TF’s is that you can pick the version you like the best to be your “canonical” one.
    I picked the nasty one.

Feel free to steal, Pol. I actually have a confession to make-if you look at the centre of my explosions, you might recognise the blast effect, coz I nicked it from your tutorial!

The fire is really easy to do. I just take a blowtorch and…
Nah, I used the GIMP paint brush tool with the sparks brush to build up a blob in the rough shape of the flame, then used the smudge tool to spread the sparks out (when you smear them they look like fire almost instantly), then mess about a bit with blurs, just to take the edges off it. Shoving in some airbrushed charring (just black airbrush tool with the galaxy brush and a little smudging and/or blurring) underneath then gives it that little final kick. Simple, quick and it looks quite tasty. I'm sure you guys can improve on the effect no end.

Thanks. :)  I don’t know if it’s an intentional, undocumented feature for Mirage’s pistols to combine like that, but it seems to work quite well, and he can actually hold both handles due to the Ford GT’s good proportions and arm articulation.

BTW I’m glad Mirage is provoking a reaction, both from people who like him and people who don’t. It’ll be interesting to see how reactions change as events progress…

That's my preference as well. Never did like cut and dry characters. Give me lots of grey area. Its far more interesting to explore the possibilites. :)

Very nice. Love Mirage's aristocratic personality but yet his excitement for the hunt brings out the warrior in him

Yep, there are definitely enough different versions of the major characters to fit just about any scenario your looking for, but I also like to think that since your the creator of these comics, then you create an all-new bio, by what you have them become. And those are really the best bio's IMO.
