That's why there's no Alternators in my comics. Well, that, and the only ones I have that I haven't lost the weapons for are Skidz and Tracks, and who cares about them? Plus, scale problems with the Classics... Since you were thoughtful enough to change "quote=Tomiku" to "quote=Jess," permission happily granted, hun. Eh? Oh, didn't even notice that! Cool. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Er, yeah, woohoo, and stuff... *rolls eyes*
Man I need more. I hate cliffhangers. Shane gives us enough of those. Great line a couple strips back with the Freakazoid Ford. Nice to see the makes get some acknowledgment. Keep up the great work!
It makes for good drama, but I hate to see Autobots showing genuine hostility towards each other like this. Maybe they'll make it up later down the line. Oh, and I envy you your MIrage. I'm missing four Alternators out of the line, and he's one of them... never saw him in the stores at all.
To me Mirage and Silverstreak are like Stewie and Brian "It;s a love-hate Friendship" I still need Mirage........and really everbody else.
Noice!!! Hopefully, this and TF: Apocalyspe that Grimlock13 is doin will bring back the desire for serious comics! kud0s!!
Excellent banter between Silverstreak and Mirage. And the last three panels were just perfection. I got used to it, after reading enough of Grimlock_13's Apocalypse.
Boy ain't that the truth! It would seem as though all Autobots just fall in line with their leader, cuz they're all good 'n stuff, but reality sets in eventually. And in this case, with no more war, the observance of strict military precision and the like seems to be waning. But now it looks as though those rules and regs are about to be reinstated.
Sorry I haven't commented sooner, Coolhand. I noticed your thread, but decided to wait until I returned from vacation so I could give it my full attention. And I'm so glad I did because this is exceptional work. Bravo on a job well done. I think there is a nice balance between comedy and drama right now. Some are even mixing in new elements as well. So there's a little something for everyone. For me, the diversity is what makes this forum fun to hang out in. Interesting. I agree about sexuality. However I believe Transformers are certainly capable of romantic relationships. Falling in love is about the emotional attachements we form and the desire for companionship rather than any sexual instincts. That is how couples are able to maintain their commitment to each other long after the physical passion is gone. So as emotional beings who have exhibited much the same range as humans, it seems plausible for Transformers. Its just simplified by the lack of any biological/reproductive programming.
Amazing comic, awesome writing, it manages to feel fresh and emotive, something that many comics his site have lost . I love the way you portray the grim experiences and relations of the surviving bots. You have gained a frequent reader, keep it up!!
First of all, sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. I only get internet access during the week, so this has been my first chance to get back online. Once again, thanks for everyone’s kind comments. Really glad you guys are enjoying it. Yeah, one of the things I love about the Alts is that they’re licensed, accurate cars, so I’ll be making a few references to their makes. After all, I guess if you’re a transformer, you Alt mode is a big part of who you are. Heh heh. Coming up next, Mirage beats Silverstreak with a golf club whilst yelling “Where’s mah money, man? Where’s mah money?” Silverstreak and Mirage do have quite an antagonistic relationship. Rest assured, MOST of the other Autobots get along fine, and we’ll see that we meet the rest of the cast. But Streak and Mirage are quite important characters, so we had to meet them first to set up who they are, and also establish the fact that they really don’t get on. Hopefully, I’m not going to go overboard on it too much. Your Mirage is out there somewhere Shane, search and yea shall find! I had to get him from eBay, coz they never released him in the UK. I recommend him 100%, for both his awesome bot and alt modes. I think he’s one of the few Alternators that’s genuinely worth paying ebay prices for. Unlike some that I could mention… (cough…Prowl…cough…) Ah, Wheeljack. The Professor Farnsworth of the autobots... Aye. The balancing act required to successfully demilitarize an entire civilization and take them from a war footing to a peacetime one, is quite tricky I imagine. It’s something that will get touched on to a degree, but as you can see, not all of the Autobot’s are getting quite right at the moment. … That’s assuming Optimus survived the war… That’s a very interesting point you make. I suspect you’re probably right, though I’d argue that romance usually contains a sexual element to it at some point, even if that element fades after a while. But of course there are always exceptions to that as well. It’s that tricky delineation between passion, as different from romance, and as different again from the strong, non-sexual and non-romantic love of a close friendship. When does one become the other, and when is one person’s romance another person’s life-long friend? Tricky, and I’m damned if I can give a definitive answer, especially for a fictional robot civilisation. Romantic transformers certainly have a place in good storytelling, as many of the strips here, (yours included DA) have proved. This forum would be a far poorer, less heart-warming place if we didn’t have some romantic transformers in here. And TF romance is certainly canonical, as far as BW and BM goes. So “officially,” they are certainly capable of full on romantic relationships. My personal take on it: What we’d call romance, they'd call a very close friendship: Transformers and humans feeling the exact same emotions of love, strong attachment and companionship but categorising it differently due to a difference frame of reference. But ultimately, I may just be looking at this from my “young male” perspective which puts sex pretty high on the list of things required for romance… Look, nature hardwired me this way okay? That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it! Today: Two updates! Well, one update split into two short ones, to accommodate a shift in the POV character. Update number one below. Update two coming along later…
