The question is, can Windcharger drive his captors insane? The conversation between Tracks and Smokescreen was great! Poor Hound. I was hoping he's finally be back up and running, and then, he's still stuck in stasis. Still, at least, better in stasis then dead. I'm also feeling sorry for Wheeljack. I still like your version of Optimus Prime; I like how he's always trying to encourage his troops.
I'll be looking forward to seeing what happens! | Thanks. Glad you're enjoying it. And trust me, Ravage has not even BEGUN to be nasty yet... Quote:

i am SO impressed with your writing.... seriously dude. it's epic. my favourite strip so far (and i'm only on page 60) is the Hound Introspective... just amazing. granted, overlay of a cropped image is difficult, but there were some that just looked like he was really there.... and the feelings.... i really felt sorry for him...
you bring them to life in a way i envy. your choice to make their world real.. to add physical damage, interaction... all of that... well it's different from the "i'm in a room made for much bigger people, interacting with their stuff as if i'm small" and "hi i'm a toy" that we so often see. it's refreshing and unique in a way i can't describe...
like how an energy sword drops to the carpet-like surface of the "road" (or courtyard as grimlock calls it) and begins burning it. FANTASTIC.
so, i love the hound hologram effect. very nice. how did you pull that off?
also, the glowing spark effect when a robot slaps another five, or when windcharger kicks at grim...
and the fire with showering molteney goodness...
advice welcome please!
and.... i LOVE this comic! :: scampers off to read more ::
-A.S. EDIT: wow.... i just got caught up....

i LOVE what you did with ravage.... honestly. That was EPIC. and... about your lighting... how do you get such clear shots in the low-lighting like that? It is such a problem for me that i find myself limited by what i can do in my comics... so help is again greatly appreciated.

I do keep meaning to put tutorials up for all the F/X but time is such a swine at the moment. I find with low lighting that setting the shutter speed to the camera to 3 or full seconds, and messing around with the aperture settings really make the difference. I've sort of learned which areas of the house need which settings, and if I get it a bit wrong I tidy it up in GIMP.
The stuff shot in the dark (The Shadowbase set) is aided with LCD spotlights. Nothing fancy, just cheap little things I bought for £3 each. I shine one or two on different bits of the set until I get a nice mix of shadows and light spots. It takes a fair bit of trial and error but I take so many shots of each set-up that odds are one will look good.
Okay, I know I've been falling behind badly with the rate of updates. I AM still working hard on this strip, it's just that things keep going wrong!
To apologise, I'll update later today, and hopefully answer one of the questions that was brought up in the first season, all those months ago... Out Of The Dead Land- Updated 20/11/2009 PDF's of season 1 and 2 now available with bonus content. |

It's seriously admirable.
