A very nice glimpse into Grimlock's history there.

I've only one minor issue with the recent strip: Compared to how well posed Windcharger and Grimlock are, Prime looks kind of...kind of like he just got out of bed.

Hmm... Not much in this new strip, but as always, very neat and well used Photoshop skills (if you're using it XD).

Although I said 'not much', I still liked the background of Grimlock there. Looking forward to more ^^.

I like it. Kind of a late Marvel-styled Grimlock, where he's not just a dumb lug or a lone loose cannon, but an actual leader. Did you have Earthforce in mind here, by the way? Your comic reminds me of it, somehow.

I like your Windcharger, too. I should mention that Windy once destroyed the Dinobots with his magnetic power...it was one of the "bad" endings to a FIND YOUR FATE Transformers book that traumatized a lot of us back in the day.

Makes you feel bad for Grimms. Kinda cool he takes on a new recruit instead of wallowing on his lonesome.
Will we be seeing Ricochet anytime soon? He was my fav. of the Alternators line.
Great effects and story BTW. :thumb

Great update, although Windcharger a badass? You will have a rough time convincing me that can happen.

Great update, but poor Grim. He's a very sympathetic character. :)

That was a great background history for Grimlock. And I too have to wonder if Windcharger is up to snuff for this one. Things should look rather interesting in the future.

Coolhand appreciates your comments. They make him feel warm and fuzzy, and make him speak in the third person…

    Thanks dude. :)

Cool. Again, hope I’m not boring people with all the yak-yak. If I start to, let me know.

    Snoozimus Prime? :D
Heh heh. I know what you mean, and I’m not that happy with his poses so far either. I’m tempted to just blame it all on that damn blocky lump of a Dodge RAM, plus the fact that so far Prime’s just been strolling around the base chatting to Jazz, but I’ve got to take some of the wrap for it as well. I envisioned him as a poised statesman so his stances and gestures were always going to be more reserved and subtle than the others, but I’m obviously not quite hitting that mark.
I’ll work on it for further updates. (pops off to review Nemi’s posing in fun-ness.)

Yeah, I like Grimlock (Though I’ll try not go all Furman and start worshiping the guy) My Grim is the warrior-commander version, and not the dumb smash-brains version. Of course, smashing brains is still a big part of what he does, but he also actually gives a rats ass about the men under his command, and he’ll never be wearing an apron or asking anyone for stories about Petro-rabbits. And my Grimlock would have EATEN WHEELIE’S ARMS for that catapult stunt…:ev:

Well, the question as to who might turn up in the strip is one I’m going to totally dodge, because it might spoil the fun. That’s not me saying he will, and it’s not me saying he won’t. I’m genuinely just keeping silent.

Thanks puppylove, and thanks for the support. :)

(Sponsorship voiceover) Out Of The Dead Land is brought to you by GIMP photo editing software, because GIMP is free and I am broke.

Heh heh. So did Grimlock. He’s not used to getting that from people he’s about to pulverize. Usually it’s more sort of “AAHHHHGH NO, NOT THE FACE! OH PRIMUS, MY LEG’S COME OFF!”

Hey, no problem. Thanks for reading.:thumb

Yeah, Jazz shares your concerns, as do a couple of other Autobots. Additionally, there’s something about Windcharger I should probably tell you...
Nah, you’ll find out soon enough.:D

Do you mean the Babylon 5 Earthforce? If so then yes, along with the Re-Imagined Battlestar Galactica, Space: Above and Beyond and any other S/F series that has a relatively realistic take on the military have inspired the way the Autobots run their operations in OOTDL to a degree.
And as for Windcharger taking out the Dinobots…I didn’t know that but hey, how’s that for irony!

Lemme guess. He does not fear death because he has a death wish, because like Grimlock, all of his companions are dead (he's the only Alternators mini-bot)? Am I close?

And yes, GIMP is awesome. It's like getting Photoshop for free, without the possibility of retribution for pirating it! XP

Oh, one question. If Windcharger is gonna be a Dinobot, does that mean he's gonna start talking in third person? :p

Nope. It can't be all action all the time. So far, it's a nice balance.

Funny, here I was thinking Prime looked so static precisely because of the way he's designed. I've got both Nemesis and Optimus, and they are blocky lumps ;)  The leg mod helps a bit to give him some proportion though.

Oh, and a minor quibble, but you've got a few spelling mistakes throughout the strip. Nothing major, but it pulls the reader (or at least me) out of the strip for a moment.

Nice. Nice dialogue, good character work for Grimlock, and an interesting situation for Windcharger to be in. And the effects were good too. :thumb

    Oooh, that’s a rather nice theory…
    …but no. :D

    :lol
Well, the final ritual in the Dinobot initiation ceremony is to lay your head on an anvil whilst your comrades beat it with sledgehammers until your IQ drops by about fifty points….
    Only kidding.

Ooh, there’s a leg mod for Alt Prime? I knew about the Prowl one, but not about Prime.
Got a link? Wheeljack might just be calling Prime in for an upgrade…

Erm, er, yeah, see all the Autobots have damage to their…uh…speech processors…and I’m showing that with deliberate spelling mistakes….
    :tumbleweed:
(Okay, not fooling anyone am I?)
    DOH!!!
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll make certain that it doesn’t happen again. From now on, everything gets DOUBLE SPELL CHECKED!

Thanks guys. Glad to know you’re enjoying it so far. :)
