Since Mattel's Computer Warriors toyline from 1989-90, I've always loved that "tiny warriors fighting a war in our own backyard" genre. Seeing the world through the eyes of beings MUCH smaller then ourselves is interesting & presents a lot of different story options; getting to the roof of an apartment building for us is easy, but imagine how long it'd take a person only 6" tall to get up there? Or what if they ran into an animal along the way? Or a human? What I'm doing here is creating a world like that using the Real Gear transformers. I've made up bios for each of the first 6 real gear robot toys that are out & will be posting them in this thread sometime during this week. In the meantime, here's a teaser to the Real Gear Robots photo story I'm working on: In our world...a war is secretly being fought between a race of alien robots. So yeah, this is really just the teaser before I get started on the actual "comic" itself. This looks like a nice change... LOLgear, while funny, got old fairly quickly (OK... U R Spyshot... PEEK... We heard you the first 10 times...) I think it's almost required that you get Meantime and Highscore now...
Awesome, glad you guys are digging this idea! I'm gonna have to get crackin' then LoL. In the meantime (no pun intended), while I get stuff ready for the first episode/comic, here's some Bios of the 6 Real Gear Robots I have that will be in the comics. I've done them up ala the More Then Meets the Eye comic books & I think they came out really awesomely if I may say so myself. The background for my version of the story, is that the Real Gear Robots (R.G.R.s) are a new Sub-Group in a Alternate Universe Generation 1 continuity. The big 'bots will never show up in the strip, as this focuses on the little guys, although odds are they will be mentioned here & there. Basically, after the war was brought to earth, the Micromaster technology was micro-sized again, making even smaller robots. The Decepticons planned to send 3 of their newly re-formatted R.G.R.s down to earth to try to break the human's world down from the inside. When the Autobots found out about this, they got their own R.G.R.s & sent them down to Earth with the intention of stopping the Decepticons from causing some serious damage. Currently they're all in a small town somewhere, trying to set up base camps, as they don't have ships (both sides basically shot the each group down to earth in these very thick meteor-like pods) to travel around in or even live in. Plus, being 4-to-5 inches tall means getting around on foot is gonna take a while. Okay! So here's the bios, in alphabetical order: As for where Meantime, High Score, Night Beat & Wiretap are, I'll make up bios for those guys & work them into the story as soon as I'm able to actually find them in the store. My area still has a TF drought, only new things I've seen are some voyagers, Robot Heroes & FABs. But believe me, I wanna put those guys into the story as they seem to be really cool little characters.
