I think after all he's been through, that the idea of giving up would appeal to him. His depth of character is definately being tested here.
Rattrap's not to happy with him, and as the last page showed, it never entered Nightscream's mind that Cheetor wouldn't be there to help solve the problem. They'll continue to react to his state of mind as the story goes on.
