Very nice. I'm curious to see which ones are which. You've set this about midway between G1 and the time period that the Maximals come from. Any chance of some Maximals or Predacons turning up in the story?
Not likely, mainly because there are very few beastformers I like. And there never will be a "Beast wars" here. Among other things, Micromasters are human and Nebulon cyborgs in this continuity, not Cybertronians, and everything from third season on never happened.
The character ideas are the most interesting part of this to me, particularly the idea that Rodimus was meant to be the leader for a certain time and a certain reason, and now that he thinks that's done, he's ready to step down. The backgrounds are very nice. Great job. Borrowed or created, they still work well.
I like that concept as well. The whole idea that this an alternate path from the movie, where Roddy has a bit more backbone to him. (Not that I really minded the concept of him questioning his abilities...it was an interesting take for a kid's cartoon in the '80's...) And, of course, we're all curious to see where this is all going, besides the resurrection of Megs so that we might have a continuation of war.
Nice character backhistory. I always find that kind of stuff fascinating, especially when it revolves around characters we already know to a degree.
Heh, a LOT of that backstory is simply to explain why I'm using what figures I am. I have a relatively limited selection, and others may show up as background characters (like the Spychangers, knockoff Micromasters, and LOC's as "Master" troops... the LOC's will be "Warmasters", the largest of the Masters, and I will only use the LOC's I don't have the full-sized figures for). Meanwhile, I'm SERIOUSLY considering repainting Megatron and the Cybertron repaint of "Bendy" Prime (at least his legs), if only to make it easier to use colored cloth as a BG and extract them from it.
What color cloth are you using? I shoot my characters against a white posterboard, which works very well and doesn't reflect the colors onto the figures, at least until I get to white figures like Ultra Magnus or Jetfire..
Right now I'm rather stuck using an unfolded sketchpad, which both is too small AND is difficult to edit out entirely.
Okay, looking at my work schedule, looks like this will be updated on the weekends, only. Some questions raised by the current strips: 1 ) Who will be the new Prime? 2 ) What will happen to Chalcyon? 3 ) Will the Seekers and megatron be themselves - or their Unicronian modes? 4 ) What will happpen when I have to stop using the digital stand-ins for the Constructicons and start having to use the crappy yellow G2 knockoffs I have? More to come!
