This guy still rocks! I never get tired of him and I like him better than SS!

 

this toy is beautiful. might pick him up after all, i need filler for my '13'.

 

it's very finicky.. to get them the right way in robot mode, the wings need to be rotated one way, and to get them back for jet mode, they need to be rotated the other way.

i think he looks A LOT better when they're positioned the way starscreams are.

 

and this is how i like to have them positioned..



and i know that the nose cone folds up.. sometimes i fold it up, sometimes i feel like it looks better down.

I also flip flop on the Nosecone. Sometimes folded up, sometimes not.

 

So do we know yet if Takara will be releasing this guy, especially in his glorious G2 colours? I need my G2/IDW Jhiaxus.

 

no problem! i hope it works for you, they popped off the ball joints the first two times i tried it, but once i got the hang of it they haven't popped off since.

ditto. i really hope they do.

 

Can someone clip these guns on Hound's chest holes or see what he looks like with them and his other guns?

 

I've thought about getting this figure for some time now and he looks quite tempting.

But theres something I'd like to know: does the chest connect to anything when the nosecone is folded in, or is it just held in place with friction?

 

Jhiaxus, I still don't know how to say your name... I didn't really care about this dude much before. I really didn't even know who he was. I mostly got him for the comic. But having read the reason why he looks like Starscream I find it odd that Starscream didn't know he has swords until Jhiaxus copied him and the toy doesn't even have the swords. He comes with guns. Which I actually like better because Starscream swords are very fragile and I feel like they're eventually going to turn to clear translucent dust. I actually just checked my Starscream and one of them is starting to crack almost totally in half. Jhiaxus is a lot more sturdy... the only problem is I dropped one of his guns some place between opening presents and getting him in my room... so now he only has one gun which doesn't look that bad in robot more but makes the vehicle mode look weird since they store as under wing vehicle weapons.

This guy does seen pretty cool, I only own the Starscream version though. I do love that mold, so I'd totally be open to grabbing one for around retail price. I'd totally have bought him just for the guns had I ever seen him. Maybe I'll start getting into resin casting just because I already love those rifles so much - actually, there's your solution on that missing gun. I haven't done any resin casting before, but maybe try your hand at it, for just a single gun, it might not be that hard. Hell, you could make as many copies of it as you want once you make the mold.

I've never done it before. I was going to attempt to make a cast of BH Shockwave's chest plate, slightly alter the back of it so it could be attached to the existing chest of DotM Shockwave that way I could cover that rib cage and give him a more G1 style appearance but I can't even find the materials to attempt it. I kind of gave up on it and now don't even own BH Shockwave anymore.

Anyway that seems like a lot of work for a replacement gun that's not even that big a deal.

 

I still need an Armada Starscream head so I can pop it on my other Jhiaxus body to make another Seeker for my shelf.
