I don't get the obsession with wrist swivel.

Yep. One of the first leaders I ever got, Cybertron Optimus, had none, and he's one of my favorite figures. Leader Starscream has none. I believe leader Metroplex doesn't, along with AOE Leader Prime, just to name a few.

Though he's lacking in some areas, Jetfire looks to be awesome toy and will be bought.

He's glorious. I can't wait to get my mits on him. I wonder if the Takara version will use regular ass red for the super bits as well as restore all of the missing paint apps. Does Hasbro know we'd pay a little more if they stopped editing out all the frickin paint?

You know, I goddamn love the way this looks. The bot mode is ace, and the jet mode looks badass. It looks like the kind of jet you don't want to fuck with in an air fight. With so many F22 lookalikes out there, having a classic swing wing look is a highly welcome change. I can't wait to get mine.

Too much hollowness going on there. The giant pre-posed heels look really bad to me. They made it look great otherwise though, Kudos for that. I'd rather have a smaller less hollow variation...actually if it were smaller those problems would be passable.

Nailed it as calling it a mixed bag.

I was fist pumpin when initial images came out. as soon as we seen the chrome red I was disappointed.

It looks cool. The packaging, to me at least from the front page pics, Seemed just massive for the actual toy. WILL they eventually fill that massive box?

I think for me, Im a sucker for aviation and military alt modes, so Ill buy the hell out of this.

But I can tell you this....As soon a I get it, I will figure out the best damn Matte clear to cover that chrome crap, and I ll have a decent figure. You could, if you like screwing with stuff..fill the legs and forearm with something and it would add to the "heft"..Look nice too.

Still small as hell. the new norm.

Priority one..find a GOOD adhering Matte spray just to knock off that flaming bling he has goin on.

Shit...Print some RDF logos..could be the start of some epic customs too.

You know...Im still looking at pics in another window..Hasbro could easily remold just a few parts, and have ALL sorts of different aircraft. Delta wings, Forward swept wings, different tail parts. Or radicons could do it. Looks fun there.

Could make a G.I.JOE Conquest X30 and use a human alliance guy and paint him up as slipstream.

Yea..looks cheaper...But it still looks good. MATTE those guns priority one.

    Awesome review as always

    EDIT; Does the cockpit open?

Me neither. It's warranted with figs that come with melee weapons I suppose. But with guns...I guess for some strange reason people wanna pose their TFs holding their guns all gangsta style like a bunch of Crips or something.

    Thanks for the review!

The plastic things scares me a bit but I'll mainly be using it as a display piece. I'm painting all that awful chrome for sure though.

It's necessary if you want to pose your figures holding their rifles crossed their chest.

So far I'm not turned off this toy. There are distinct flaws, but the good stuff is still good, and it avoids the things I disliked in Classics Jetfire, so unless it turns out the plastic is so cheap it spontaneously reverts back to crude oil and combusts, I'm on board.
