Hi there. I've been collecting these for uh... my son, since he was way little. So, I had to jump at the chance to pick up the latest offerings for him.

From my 3 year old sons perspective - He likes the bigger, rescue vehicles better. He plays with the original eight more than these three Rescan releases. Always asking me to come "Zoom" them with him.

Now, on to my thoughts:

I fully expected these to be the same size as the previous ones, so I was a little taken back when I picked them up in store.

Optimus takes on the form of a tiny monster truck in this rescan release. Transformation is simple. By pulling the bed of the truck the head will pop up, the arms will slide out and the rear wheels will fold up. It's a more detailed and less kid-ified version of Optimus in comparison to the original. The legs have a tendency of easily popping back in or out so if you're playing heavily and push him to roll, he can come undone easily. Don't be fooled by the comparison pics with the original Rescue Bots Prime in vehicle mode. While they look comparable in size, they definitely aren't.

 

Yeah, now that you point it out, I notice it's kind of a "cheat" transformation isn't it?
