    Nope, I hate stickers with a passion.:lol

I preordered the TakTom version for the better paint apps, but once I saw this guy on the shelf I had to have him to fiddle with.

I put the Hasbro stickers on him, and while they improve the figure the stickers themselves are poop. They aren't cut to any particular shape on him so some stickers are too big for where they're supposed to go. Whirl had the same problem, but I bought the Reprolabels set which has massively improved Whirl.

So basicwlly what I'm saying is I'm patiently awaiting the inevitable Roadbuster Reprolabel set.

I've had Roadbuster for just a few weeks now and noticed yesterday that mine has 2 of the same ankle joint. Does anyone know how to knock out the pins there? One side is a pin while the other is like a much wider metal piece/pin/screw. It still transforms but the feet are out or alignment by a few millimeters. For example when going to truck mode, the bottoms of both feet go together. One foot will be clicked at an angle due to having a duplicate ankle joint if that makes sense. I want to see if knocking the pins out then swiveling the piece around before reassembly will fix it.

I love the feedback area. Prolly where I do the majority of my posts. When I pick something up, I like to post about my initial impressions, that are filled with "new toy" excitement, and examinations of detail and function. Then, after having it for a bit, I usually return to post about it AFTER the honeymoon is over, and report back if it was a success with my boy...if HE, the kid likes it.

Well..Yes, he still likes it...but my roadbuster is SMASHED. Im not talkin steamroller smashed..but its wasted. My son is VERY VERY good with his stuff. it makes me SO proud. and after played with it only a few times, the shoulder mechanisms are just a complete..utter...floppy ball of shit mess.
Add to that the inferior arm ratchets have all but worn out..and I think I see a defect as well. Now when the arm rotates, the ratchets only even touch the gears in the "arms to side" area, but when you lift the arms, the ratchets dont even touch plastic. PATHETIC.
    Stickers are holding up..

But I KNOW these toys are not like 80's toys..I get that..but I would like to see stuff last at least a little bit. My boy only played with it 3 times..and its like it was a vintage from the 80's. Its just worn out already.

The same shit happened to the FOC toys. My son LOVES the FOC stuff, but all of those, mind you AFTER a kid actually plays with the AS INTENDED..every joint is complete shit. My sons favorite, FOC jazz..wont even stand up and his FOC prime arms are so loose it wont hold a gun.

Yea...yea..I can future it..it will fix it. But what about the average kid that just gets a toy here and there and then ends up frustrated because its a worn out junker that wont even stand, like jazz.

I LOVE the overall designs they are doing..but they really need to consider a BETTER system for at least making these things last longer than a week of play.

so, my conclusion on roadbuster..if he is going to sit on a shelf..he is AWESOME. if your kid or you are going to TF it and play with it..get ready for a floppy mess.

I have always thought QUALITY when I think of Hasbro...not so much anymore. the toy may look pretty..but it just dont last even my childs delicate play.

I had the same issue with TF Prime Voyager Megatron. After moving his arm once or twice with the cannon on it, his arms are a floppy mess. I had to wrap the ball in a piece of paper and shove it back in for additional friction.

I dont have RB yet, but your shoulder ball joint issue is what I have with Generation Whirl and his was loose right out of the box and I haven't transformed him into Heli mode either. Yes, toys of today are NOT like they was 30 years ago, but damn for the price we pay for them, at least make them last a little longer than 3 or 4 transformations.

Bump, anyone know how to get the ankle joint off? It appears I have 2 of the same ankle joint instead of 1 left and 1 right. These joints attach to the feet via pins, narrow on 1 end, THICK on the other. Never took pins like that apart before.

Due to duplicate ankle joints, the feet are off alignment by a few millimeters but It's enough to throw the alt mode off in a way. Like that green "window" in truck mode in the middle...alignment for that is off on mine. My plan is to take the problematic joint apart, turn it around, then put it back together.

    I 100% agree with you.

After the differences I had seen in Cosmos, Swerve and Whirl, I was hoping Hasbro quality was starting to come back and be where it needs to be. It's not.

I was so thrilled for Roadbuster to come out. Then I got him and it was one disappointment after another.
    - Horrible ratchets
    - Compromised Articulation
    - Stupid ankles no matter the way you look at it
    - Mine has one of the worst paint jobs I have ever seen on a figure, and I own Kronos and Huff (which mine had no issues with paint on either).
    - Joints that are way to tight, where you feel like you will break it, that is only made worse by my next point.

But the worst, worst part of the whole thing, it feels likes it's made of KO plastic. Like if they KOed this piece the KO would come out better then this.

I just wish Hasbro would get their QC on point at this time. This isn't even QC. The paint was QC. This is more of fuck the purchaser. Done consciously as a cost savings measure.

The figure is okay in terms of design. It will look good on the shelf. But I am not going to be playing with it. I don't see the point.

BTW, for the quality, I think that is the Tomy side that has crept into Hasbro and Takara, and hence why their toys are worse and worse in terms of quality. Tomy is notorious for bad quality,

    Really? Huh.

My Roadbuster is still feeling solid after quite a few transformations. Only issue is that one shoulder ratchet is stiffer than the other.

The only compromised articulation I've seen is the lack of wrists and the rear tires interfering with his knees, both of which are fairly minor. His bicep and thigh swivels are scarily tight, but with care they still work fine. Ankles look a bit off if you follow the instructions, but it's pretty easy to fix that and doing so shifts his center of mass enough that it improves his balance substantially. Plastic and paint quality are also pretty good on mine. He feels nice and solid and most of the paint is well applied.

Knowing this I trimmed the stock stickers with a scalpel before application. No problems with mine as a result.

    Looks bloody awesome too.

I'm a big fan of this toy, he turned out to be a big chunk of old school fun. Tons of stickers and weapons is good in my book.

I feel for those with ratchets that are shot. Luckily mine are still good after a bunch of TFs.

As for the paint, well, chalk it up to large surfaces being painted twice. Yeah, it isn't that awesome but IDK, it isn't so bad IMHO.

My biggest issue, aside from arm and thight swivels that needed quite a bit of working in to loosen up are the 5mm holes. They are pretty much loose everywhere except the hands. Really Hasbro?

Plastic. KO? Seriously? I HATE this charge especially when it's wayyyy off base. The plastic on this fig doesn't feel anything like a KO. In fact the only figs I've ever had that comes close to that charge are the G2 FoC Combaticons and maybe, just maybe, my BiS Hot Rod.

Seriously, the only moment I've felt the plastic was almost unacceptable was, as you say, the G2 Combaticons. The FoC-era toys are the lowest point materials-wise and they've been slowly but steadily getting better since then.

"feels KO quality" is the new "like a Mcdonalds toy" it seems.

I didnt mean to be the Debbie Downer...in fact, I was just checking it out again after reading some posts after mine, so went and looked at it again.

Dont get me wrong. This figure is seriously rocking attitude. The feet dont really bother me much..and I 100000% agree that FOC was really the biggest quality lowpoint ive seen in TF hasbro collecting.

Im just shakin my head, because..Im an adult..but I still have some of that 80's kid in me. Prolly how I can still play and have fun with my kids so much and joke and shit.

But im telling you..If I were my son, and I took care of my stuff, and this thing wore out (specifically in the shoulder/chest/arm area that held together VERY flimsily, AND the shoulder "ratchets" just SMASHED to shit) the way this one has Id be freakin bummed. My son does not sit watching TV moving the arms and spinning stuff..he poses them..TFs them..he just plain ol' PLAYS with em

and its worn out bad. Thats just the downer part of this toy.
