I wonder why they couldn't just took some inspiration from the TFA Rodimus toy that found a way to convert a Lamborgeni transformer to toy form in a neat way while at the same time being fairly close to the animation model it's based on. The proportions would be still a little off but at least it would have been better then the official toy we got. Not to mention if they made it the same size as TFA Rodimus he'll be at least as tall the Evasion Optimus toy if not the same size.
Holy shit that's not a bad idea at all. Hell, if he ended up with those proportions and size he'd be perfect!
i love lambos and the aventador is my dream car but it really doesn't fit lockdown at all. i saw an aventador goin down the street yesterday and my scion felt a lot less shiny all of a sudden lol
As one of the only enemy figures in the line, it's really disappointing to see that this figure got the shaft. Admittedly after getting buyers remorse for it, it's slowly growing on me. I like how the arms can reach forward and cross pretty far, never had an issue with car mode but it's a bit gappy. It just reeks of being designed way early on with limited budget. I hate the stumpy proportions especially when in the movie, Lockdown was one of the most human-looking of all the Transformers aside from Drift. The head and gun are cool, the rest could've been a lot better. It's a shame because he was one of the most important characters in the movie.
Wasn't Lockdown traditionally a fan of having snazzy looking alt modes either they be spikey or otherwise in the past? I think this fits him just as much as the alt mode he had in Animated. Besides if you're trying to at least blend in the sports car section chances are being all spiky isn't going to help much.
Any one here thinks the deluxe lockdown would be great as army building/clone troopers or something? Since his small and somehow reminds me of prime vehicon, the only problem is yeah his too important from the movie to make an army of him lols. I actually want to see galvatron with like 10 lockdowns haha.
Bullshit it don't. It's sleek, dark, and powerful. Just like Lockdown. Perfect fit. Having him parade around as some ridiculous madmax atrocity would look stupid. He's a high-class business man, and so he turns into a high-class business car. Yeah no kidding. It's the perfect balance between agressive power and disguise. Yeah, this is what bites the most. His movie design was excellent. Sleek, subtle, and threatening. This toy's robot mode is anything but. The face isn't even right. Retool the head and maybe yeah. This robot mode better fits more grunt-like followers, like Barricade.
Meh. A decent toy for $10. Wasn't really expecting any AOE deluxe toy to be awesome. Not complaining about the rifle though. If it was a gun, then yes, it would be too long. The car mode looks very good. Not a fan of the whole door being under the forearms. Mine wasn't floppy nor does it have huge gaps in car mode. I was bored so I took these pics:
There's plenty of good AOE toys, like the Dinobots, Drift, Evasion Prime, Hound, Galvatron, etc. Lockdown is not one of them.
yeah i think i might just ditch mine and live without a lambo transformer, lol. hopefully we get one someday that matches the model more... someone did a mod to extend his torso and kept him transformable but i can't find it for the life of me.
still does not save it though. I still have hopes the character will be revisited later on. theres been a few times where the 1st attempt at a movie character was not that great and they did a better job down the road even when the character was "dead". Lockdown was on OK character in the movie. definitely was not the high point of the whole movie for me. If he gets a better figure down the road..cool..if not..it is what it is. Whoever did the design for Battle blade bee should get a shot at this one. With combiner stuff coming down the road...this deluxe will be forgotten in time. there have been some serious GEMS to come from this movie line..this is probably the low point of the line for me. I can see guys collecting these for troop building con armys. I dont think its much good at anything else. I would have preferred a shellformer with the car hanging on his back and a nice bot mode over what we got. Cant win em all I guess.
Honestly, my need for a lambo in a similar shape was already filled with Fansproject's Car Crash. If you're willing to go 3P then it isn't such a bad figure to have.
Just picked this guy up yesterday on sale for 10, and at first I wasn`t too happy. He was ok, and kinda fun, especially because I`d paid such a low price for him, as well as had heavily tempered my expectations, but still he definitely wasn`t great. Mine was especaially loose in the left arm and the waist, and the fact that the arms went past the knees was just too much. But honestly, after doing Megamoonman`s mod that`s on radicons right now...I am actually super happy with him! It just gives him that height he needed, streches out his torso, and makes him super cool, plus just shifting the arms u a bit makes SUCH a difference as well! It also helps just how freakin easy it is, took me literally 5 minutes with a clumsy and cheap utility knife, also he`s still fully articulated and transformable! Something none of the other legs mods have really done yet! Super happy posing him now along side some Cod soldiers I grabbed yesterday (also on sale!) and my DOTM ratchet. Will definitely be doing the kreo helmet mod, and I was planning on doing the arm panel mod as well...but now I`m not so sure as I don`t know how good they`ll look on the inside of his legs. Anyways, here`s some pictures! Before! After! Before! After! With troops! Also here`s a link to the mod! Cheers! http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/1008457-deluxe-lockdown-improvement.html
a friend bought me lockdown, the only AOE toy I have. I actually like it, everything locks into place in both modes when you figure out the pegs, the detailing is amazing and mine has decent tight joints, the transformation is interesting, a bit like my favourite movie toy, sidearm sideswipe.
Actually his transformation is 99% identical to DOTM Deluxe Roadbuster. But I can see the similarities to SA Sideswipe too. Also, one of my favorite movie figures.
I was tempted to pick this guy up on the current Kmart sale. I figured he'd at least be worth it for the Lambo mode, but honestly, I don't know.
