Didn't see a review for these blinged out repaints, so I thought I'd do a quickie for everyone. They're just repaints so I won't go over transformations or anything.

The two-pack consists of a super-chromed out Deluxe DOTM Optimus Prime representing "Silver Knight" Optimus Prime for AOE and a G1 repaint of Voyager FOC Grimlock to, somehow, represent AOE Grimlock, I guess.

Silver Knight Optimus is SUPER chromed out. Nearly everywhere that chrome could go chrome has been placed. Unlike most of Hasbro's other recent chromed out toys the chrome actually looks pretty fantastic. It may not be the right form of Optimus Prime, but he definitely comes across as decked out in armor and being a powerful knight. He comes equipped with a grey version of G1 Rampage's sword to represent his sword from AOE. Close enough, I guess. A lot of the stock images also have him using Grimlock's shield as the Sentinel Shield, which also works pretty well. The shield looks too small for Grimlock, but works well for Optimus.

Here he is with AOE Voyager Grimlock. Size-wise, he works better with Leader Class Grimlock. But Leader Grimlock's T-Rex mode is awful so I'm happy enough with this.

Truck mode has Chrome EVERYWHERE! The only left over parts are his rig! Very, very shiny but naturally prone to finger prints. I've transformed him twice and there's no wear so far so good job with that Hasbro, the only places that seem to rub during transformation is minimal contact with his knee-caps.

(The trailer's too big for my teeny-tiny Light box!)

Of course he's compatable with the trailer that was included with Movie Trilogy Optimus Prime.

Grimlock is colored completely G1 style, which I think makes him a much better match for those who want a Classic Grimlock but dislike the actual Classics Grimlock. He has thoughfully placed pale gold chrome and red weapons. Unfortunately is eyes are red instead of my preferred blue.

His deco is very close to MP08's deco! The gold of Voyager Grimlock is much paler, but most of the other details are retained.

This is actually my first experience with the mold as FOC Grimlock never made it to Australia and I have to say I'm a little disappointed with T-Rex mode. T-Rex mode is definitely what I prefer when it comes to Grimlock and I really feel like he lacks. He has Animated Grimlock's transformation scheme but he definitely doesn't pull it off as well. Otherwise the deco looks really good. Unlike Hasbro's recent attempts the chrome is well thought out, on his back, neck and claws. Unfortunately there was a little chrome wear on the figure behind the legs straight out of the box.

Fire gimmick is retained and batteries are included with the pack.

I'm pretty pleased with the pack. It was $60 here in Australia, but the US has it for half that which seems to me like an awesome bargain. This is, in my opinion, the best deco for FOC Grimlock so far and the best done Silver Knight Prime that there's been for offer. The Deluxe Prime is a really fun mold and I recommend anyone who doesn't have it to pick this up.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to try and get that Grimlock. It looks miles better than the other versions of the mold, except maybe for the original Takara deco. Although I might try and take the yellow paint off his feet.

I picked this up yesterday at my local Target. For $30 what a sweet deal, seeings how FOC Grimlock sells for $24.99, the inclusion of the Optimus is a sweet deal.

Over all I am very pleased, FOC Grimlock looks sweet with G1 colors and gold chrome. I'd have happily paid $30 just for the Grimlock.

man that grimlock looks plain as hell in dino mode. not a fan of the red booty shorts he's sporting either.

i dunno, i think the leg paint is kinda weird, should done it a bit differently. like the green over the vents, not sure i woulda done that. also no idea why his feet have yellow on it.

all i want that grim for is those chrome dino claws.

prime looks very nice, blinged out like that.

Silver Knight Prime looks to be good, but that Grimlock looks so stupid.

The reason why it's putting me off is because of the red on the thighs. Seriously, it makes him look like he's wearing boxers. Prefer Takara's red application.

Got this set yesterday and absolutely love it. I already liked the Grimlock mold, but this deco looks so great on it that I felt like a little kid again when I saw the box on the shelf. The gold chrome, red shorts and highlights on the legs really look fantastic on this mold.

The Optimus mold is one of my favorite movie toys and it looks great with all the silver chrome, although I still prefer the deco on the earlier versions.

Quite a nice set overall. Next to Evasion Optimus is my favorite thing to come out of the AoE line so far.
Also I get a kick out of seeing a G1 weapon in the box. Throw in more random G1 guns and swords, I wont complain. :)

The Grimlock in this set feels so much more solid than the mass release Voyager one.

Maybe it's just the chrome, but he's got weight to him. He feels thicker.

I don't know. I like the look a lot but the plastic feels a lot cheaper than the FoC Generations Grimlock. He makes a good "Earth-Dinobot" grimlock.

But wait, isn't the real in-scale Grimlock Masterpiece Grimmy anyway? :)

It's worth noting the autobot symbol on Grrimlock's chest is the actual symbol, rather than the weird dinobot-ized one the FoC one had.

Also the all silver legs/tail helps the look of the dino mode immeasurably.

I absolutely ADORE the Prime in this set. They nailed it with the chrome. I think the mold is pretty okay - it's my first time with it - but the full-body-bling really sells it. I really wish I had the trailer from the DotM release now, but it would be even better to have one in matching chrome. I'd probably be willing to pay retail price for that alone for a display piece.

Grimlock... I'm on the fence about Grimlock. I like the chrome, I think it's tastefully placed. I don't like the colorful legs. I know it's accurate and all (well, I'm not sure about the yellow), but it just doesn't look right to me. I prefer the look of the original FoC Grimlock. But I like the chrome! Also, I wish the shield had the black paint app that FoC Grimlock had.

Bling-Bling Optimus surprisingly works better than I would've thought, especially since it's easier to count the bits that AREN'T chromed rather than the parts that are.

Grimlock is a strange mix of stuff I like and stuff I don't (compared to the FoC release). The chrome usage is pretty good, with the chest, dino neck, and claws a pale gold (as opposed to the really yellow, almost greenish gold of the Platinum pack with Bruticus). One side benefit to the chrome is it blocks light, so the lit chest in robot mode only shines out the transparent bits, instead of making all the plastic glow. I also like the black plastic used for the head and (part of) upper legs. The hands are nicely painted black as well. I don't the red painted bits of the legs on the hip joints - looks too much like bike shorts. They should have went black with those as well (the plastic underneath is gray) The red, green, blue, and yellow blocks on the legs are G1-inspired, but look tacky as all hell. Except for those color blocks, almost all the gray plastic (and thus most of the dino mode) has no painted detail, so that mode looks really dull compared to other FOC mold versions. This Grimlock toy bugs me with how all the improvements over the first FoC release are balanced out by something way worse.

Im in love with the whole package especially for 30$ color me impressed as hell. I never got a chance to handle either of these molds in their first releases but both here are amazingly cool! I love the chromed out optimus. Just makes that toy stand out and reminds me of a poor man's lucky draw (do they still do those?) And grimlock is everything I wanted from a classics grimlock. The paint is awesome and the dino mode and "fire breath" are stellar. I just wish Grimmys shield had some paint on it but I can do that with a sharpie if I really want to. Overall I think this set is well worth the 30$ its going for. Especially seeing as grimlocks price online some places has gone up like crazy.
