My first attempt at a review, so be kind. (Comments and criticism welcome!)

I want to start off by saying that he does not feel cheap at all. In fact he has some of the best quality I've seen in a while. (Not since MP-10 anyways) The box is really cool too. I love the new direction they are going with in the new MP line.

The joints are tight. Only the hip joints are loose. (But not Rhinox loose)

 

Random question. Is there a "xx of 30" numbering on the box at all for the 30 of 30 celebration?

 

Different enough from last TRU release, shoulder stripes, thigh paint, etc.

Glad to hear the return to plastic quality is still in effect. If I ever get an MP Grimlock, it'll be this one.

How dull is the plastic?

 

So the paint apps shown on the box photos on the arms are missing?

 

Looks pretty nice. How well does the torso hold together in robot mode? That's an issue that annoyed me with previous releases of this mold.

 

Man... this time I really should get him. This is my chance to get him for a much lower price.

The deco on the box is the old Hasbro version and this one does NOT have that. It has the same deco that MP-08 has, just with rounded teeth/claws, lighter gray plastic, and more greenish tint to the clear plastic. Torso holds together pretty much the same as the old Hasbro and the newer AE one, which are the only other two I've owned.

 

Can't wait to find this figure. I need him since I'm getting MP Wheeljack

 

Nope. Just the new MP numbering.

No problem.  

Depends on your definition of "Dull", but the plastic holds up well. Nothing feels rickety.

Gonna have to take a side by side look at the box and figure again, but if I remember correctly, the box picture matches up with the figure pretty well. (Only things that are missing are the arm stickers)

Pretty well actually. Only issue is that you don't hear a click noise when you get everything in place.

Are his back feet gold painted or gold chromed?

 

Speaking purely from the perspective of someone who has never seen MP Grimlock in person, the photos and differences between this new one and earlier versions don't seem all that significant to me - certainly not enough to justify the difference in price. Can't wait to finally get Grimlock at a decent price!
