I've just received Generations Tankor. I can take some pictures but I'm not sure how to host or post them in the review.

Vehicle mode is heavily based on the Beast Machines show version of Tankor but stretched so it's a longer tank. The weapon clips on and comes with a translucent red, slightly rubbery missile, that fires through one of those friction balls.

Tank mode is quite gappy, with open spaces at the top front of the tank, which form the lower legs in robot mode. The rear tank treads also have a large chunk of plastic missing, so they don't really look like treads. No instructions so perhaps I've transformed him wrong. There's a small round peg hole in each rear tread gap that might mean there's parts missing that fill in the gap. However from Hasbro's official pictures, the gap appears to be there too.

As on the show, the head is just sat there, on top of the tank.

The blue plastic and matching blue metallic paint is really nice. The 'cheap' grey plastic that no-one seemed keen on is actually a bluey grey and doesn't look as bad in person.

The tank rolls on 3 small, cheap looking plastic wheels. One at each side at the front and one in the middle at the back.

Transformation is very simple. Basically unpegging the legs, folding up the feet and flipping a panel to cover the gap in the front of the lower legs. The chest panel lifts up, allowing the arms to fold out and then the head folds back into place and the chest panel pegs in slightly higher up.

A decent range of articulation from swivels, hinges and universal joints. No ball joints.

Arms feel a bit on the long and skinny side, almost reaching his feet.

He's very stocky but short. In robot mode the top of his head is roughly in line with the top of Generations Armada Starscream's shoulders. He's about the same height as classics Bumblebee.

He has a two coloured version of the Vehicon logo on his chest.

There is an alternative transformation of the legs that gives him more show accurate legs.

Overall a nice figure but I think a lot will feel he's too small. I'll be interested to see what the Takara version looks like (assuming there will be one). Probably even more metallic.

    Factory stolen sample?

    Need pictures NOW!
I'll proudly display it with my three BM tank drones in my Cyberverse display. After all, Tankor was rather huge in the show.

Get an account like Photobucket and upload em there, then copy-paste the provided IMG code OR use the Attachments tool on your post and upload them directly.

Looking forward to seeing it! :)

Ew, not Photobucket. Bandwidth runs out fast. Maybe tinypic.com.

Or just use the attachments tool here. Probably safer all around.

The title of the thread made me do a bit of a double-take. It was like, "Why is this guy reviewing the triple-changer from five years ago?" :p

Toy blue balls again. This should be illegal to tease a review, and then not have pics.

It's like...I been wanting a coney dog..I can kinda smell it in my head, I can picture it...so I go to a place that makes em..a coney island, and I say "hello my fine coney proprietor..I would like 3 of your finest coney islands" and then the waitress is all "sorry buck-o were out of coneys.."

    I came here for a coney...can I haz coney?

Bah...I will patiently await pics. I'll check the thread after lunch...all this coney talk got my coney mojo busting at the seams.

Seeings how I already have the Beast-Machines versions, and this is just as inaccurate as BOTH of those molds, I believe I've found the first pass on the 2014 Generations.

Yeah, no its not. Its far more accurate then the Drone and FAR more accurate then the first Beast Machines mold. Saying otherwise is just objectively incorrect.

The toys only short coming is its size. Otherwise it looks like its robot mode jumped right off the screen and any inaccuracies in vehicle mode (which are still FAR LESS then the original mold) are to make up for the very accurate robot.

Just before people make more claims that the Drone or original BM are more accurate/similarly accurate, which is an incorrect claim that ran rampant in the previous thread...

Here's how he looks in the show:

    Here's the original BM figure:

    Here's the Tank Drone:

You may prefer the other two, which is totally OK, but this is by far the most accurate in everything except size (which Tank Drone got wrong even more).

To the OP, I'm just kidding around with my coney thing. I get pissed when guys post reviews with no pics, but instead of ranting and sounding like an ass, I prefer to try my hardest to get a chuckle out of people, while still delivering my point. I just think it should be mandatory 1st post reviews should have a few pics...

    Thanks for putting some up.

Gaga, you may be absolutely right. It may be very accurate to the show...but Tankor is one of 2 I had from that line..and I still hardly see the original toy there.

So what is their intention? Show accurate? Or toy accurate? I would prefer toy accuracy.

This one...looks so bad, as a toy, as an homage (to me, Gaga) that it looks like the star wars Xover team was tossed this to design. It's weird..its off...I feel no "tankor" homage...

It's a puzzling release for me. Of course ill wait to see it in the store..but that tank mode..if you can call it that..is killing any desire to own it.

Man, what a shrimp. Thought he was supposed to be bulky and intimidating. Besides scale, he looks great in robot mode.

The new one's robot mode definitely seems the most accurate. However the alt mode seems very, very inaccurate. I think a case could be made that when counting both modes, the tank drone may be just as or more accurate as Generations Tankor.

Okay, that is one boring figure. This will be the easiest pass for me since Dark of the Moon.

...Why on earth would a Classics Tankor figure be accurate to the toy? That design has never represented Tankor fictionally except for the Universe repaint showing up in some obscure Universe 1.0 fiction. It sounds like you just want the original Beast Machines toy re-released, which you probably already have.

The expectations you had for this toy sound comparable to wanting Classics Ratchet and Ironhide to have square, flat, black, mustacioed heads.
