My Grimlock came in today. After doing the shoulder mod, and playing around with him a bit, I like him a lot more than what I was expecting (the voyager doesn't look so great in my eyes anymore). The chrome (which looks bad on him in photos IMO) looks great in hand. T-rex mode doesn't look that bad in hand as well, personally I think the legs should've move forwards a tad bit more to make the torso not as long looking.

 

I never return a Transformer, but I picked this guy up and...I dunno. For the price, I expected more. I'll just stick with the voyager. Nicer paint and better modes.

 

Well, finally opened my Leader Class Grimlock (Black Knight version) and here are my thoughts:

Pros:

1. Nice robot mode. Well sculpted and looks intimidating.

2. Good articulation.

3. Cool weapons - I dig the mace and shield.

Cons:

1. Too much chrome. I experience chrome chipping during the transformation process but its not that mad.

2. Difficult to stand in dinobot mode. Takes quite a while to find a balance.

3. Colour scheme could be darker.

Conclusion:

Its a decent toy but if one isn't a fan of the mould - pass him up or get the voyager class version or get him when he's discounted.
