If I didn't have the awesome 3rd party insecticons, I'd be chasing this down, insecticons were the first TFs I bought with my own money.As is, once I see this in store I'm snatching it right up immediately.

 

The poor lil urchins that don't have cool daddies, will be immediately picked out in the future generations of TF boards..

There will be 2 factions..

-Kids with "cool parents" that DO indeed know his name is Shrapnel. The new generations of kids will look to these people as the "Old crew" That for some reason believes toys should be shiny and have metal parts.

-Then the kids that call him Skrapnel..Those kids will be targeted as "Posers" by the hardcores...

Its possible all love and politics in the future revolve around this.

Not making the other two insecticons with the other two reflector components would be a huge fail by Hasbro

 

As much as I love the name Shrapnel, Skrapnel comes off the tongue a lot sharper and grittier. Shrapnel sounds a bit soft.

I pre ordered 3 of these. I really hope Hasbro doesn't drag their feet with the other two.

 

I love it and am shocked he is G1 height. I know g1 toys are tiny but Jeez. I just sold my g1 Insecticons I do not remember them being that short.

 

They release the leaders of two Decepticon subgroups?
There better be a Bombshell/Spectro and Kickback/Spyglass and the Reflectors combine to make a larger camera.

 

The more I see of this toy the more glad I am that I pre-ordered him! I was on the fence for a while, but am really looking forward to getting him...I think its the shots of him next his G1 counterpart that did me in.

You know, for me the translucent yellow and chromed plastic are what makes the original Shrapnel still much better than this updated release. It looks cool, but also cheap.

 

Nice review! Maybe if there is a Takara version released, he'll have chrome mandibles and a translucent yellow chest! I also wouldn't mind an E-Hobby/Diaclone Zaptrap repaint with Reflector getting a Microx/G1 toy color scheme.
Hopefully Shrapnel won't be like FOC Kickback and will actually get the rest of his teammates soon in the same scale and style!

Yeah.....good luck. That would be odd with the fact that Reflector is already..Reflector. Here's how hasbro thinks. The released Kickback as a Generations FoC Deluxe, Hardshell (aka, Bombshell) is a Prime Commander class and now with have Shrapnell. Job done

awesome, i can't wait. now for a "Hardshell" G1 repaint (if they don't make it by next summer, i'll do a custom) and a legends Kickback so there'll be a scale accurate CHUG set.

then i can put the ninjabugs in with the masterpiece cons, even if they'll be undersized, but that's o.k. because they're bugs.

I thought the random girl in the images was awesome and fresh. Why do Westerners feel the need to remove women from all their boy hobbies? Or is it NOT pervy when a Westerner puts a bikini chick on his car for a photo? Asians and Westerners aren't as different as you think, bud!

I think he's referring to the "Haha he's sexually harassing her" photo with Reflector taking a photo up her skirt. Which is pretty pervy. Sure, writing off all Asians is wrong and unacceptable, but he obviously isn't just referring to the figure, but what they've taken photos of happening to the figure.
