Its not just Bug legs though, G1 Shrapnel had barely anything to make it noticeably an insect without prior knowledge of what its supposed to resemble or having all three together. It is literally a black rectangle with pincers on the front. I understand that's because the original intention was the toy to be a vehicle, but Shrapnel probably has the worst alt-mode in early G1, he is even trounced by the other G1 Insecticons because they actually LOOKED like insects. This figure however, in my humble opinion, is perfect.

Really, the Legends Class so far has just been constant home-runs and I can't wait to see what it does after the upcoming repaints. I'm really hoping its not stopped!

Can you attach reflector to the back of the beetle? The fins look like they should plug into Reflector's chest.

 

Is G1 Shrapnell on the pic standing next to Skrapnell photoshopped or is that really their scale?

Skrapnell being noticeably shorter than his G1 counterpart made me really anxious. If what I see in that picture is the right scale, than Skrapnell is a must buy for me.

To answer your question Acesan, Shrapnel is now Skrapnel because of trademark issues, however Skrapnel is a great replacement name because It's really only like one word away from the original name much like Slag/Slug.

Oh wow Reflector's pose is based on Viewfinder and the gun mode is based on Shrapnel's toy gun. They went all out on the homages here.

Yea..thats right..I think every one of these releases has had a hidden way to attach each minicon. it took a while, but you guys even figured out cosmos attaches to the shuttle.

It just makes NO sense to me. I would understand a trademark infringement on a name like "George Washington" or "Mustang", Without rights, but its such a generic word. Its freaking shrapnel..its a THING that happens from a device and tech that has no relevance to the Hasbro toy, or ANY other toy or device, for me, in my mind to justify a way to argue some of these.

Slag.

Slag is Slag....Its a thing and no one owns the word. It just boggles me how some of this works..I have heard some of the Smart guys explain it..but it still seems like Hasbro could just argue its a generic word..everyone should be able to use a "word" to sell a product.

Now "optimus Prime" or "Grimlock"..That is a word that should be bound..

The munbo jumbo really tends to just much stuff up shittier trying to fix something not broke.

Love it. I'm a big Shrapnel fan and this guy looks great. I would've liked the legs to fold up more, but as a Legend I can live with it. Next to Cosmos, this is my most wanted TF from all that have been shown to us so far.

I can't speak for the other names, but I believe Hasbro stopped using the name Slag because it's a pretty nasty curse word in some English-speaking countries...

 

Both Shrapnel/Skrapnel & Tailgate with their Targetmaster Partners look pretty sweet.

I can''t wait to get them alongside Cosmos & Swerve, hopefuly.  

 

I just hope that they announce the other two bugs and that they come with the other two reflector team members. I may have to buy three of these guys for now.
