Got Grimlock from Ontario last Friday and found Optimus this morning at my local TRU, so here's a quick review.

What's to say? Grimlock's transformation is really simple (move the backpack up and clip it into place, move the arms back and clip them into place, straighten the legs and rotate the feet around), but still, he looks pretty good in both modes. A little gimmick here: spin the blue wheel to create some chomping action. Simple but effective. You can also sit Dinobot Rider Optimus Prime (or any other Dinobot Rider) on his back: just clip the crotch bar into his back and you're good to go. A fun pair.

i wish all the dinobots actually had gears built into their designs like this guy and vector prime. would help push the old-timey theme they have goin on.

I REALLY wish the T-rex head did something to split and make shoulder pads.

He's a titch generic without them.

Haven't bought any construct bot yet, but planning to buy this on sight. Is the durability okay? I mean, can I transform it back and forth, play with it like little kid does, and it stays good?

Also, I can't remove the ">_<" eyes vibe I get from his dino eyes -_-

transform them no problem, trow them or clash them probably ended in pieces but can be assembled again, the only really fragile spot are the C clips

How are the ball joints? Are they prone to looseness like the previous rubber coated Constructbots ball joints? Some of mine are loose from the 1st wave last year

    :(

That's a damn shame. I like this Grimlock but until Hasbro finds a way to keep Constructbots ball joints tight like Lego, I'm only going to use Constructbots for armor/weapons for my Generations figures.

Btw can generations voyager AOE Grimlock hold Constructbots Grimlock's sword?

Due to the handle design, no, but if you have any of those giant Construct-bots swords, I bet Voyager Grims would look bad-freaking ass with one or two.
