ya, some are still drawn as quilless, but some artists overdue it and make psittacosaurus look like a walking bush.

Slug's tail spikes look closer to a stegosaur thagomizer than Psittacosaurus quills.
Were psittacosaur quills sharp, like a porcupine? For some reason I'm thinking they're soft, like regular hair or feathers... but I must admit I don't know much about psittacosaur quills besides that they had them.

Thanks for the pics! This guy is really growing on me. Might have to pick him up afterall, although Scorn looks like the best dinobot figure so far IMO.

Slug takes the cake for me. Definitely my favorite of the movie Dinos. It helps that purple is my favorite color.

Can't wait to start snagging these.

Can anyone tell me how large the ball joint on Slag's neck is? Maybe try fitting some recent generations heads on it? I'm brainstorming ideas to drop the knight head and give him something similar to G1.

I absolutely LOVE this guy's robot mode. After figuring out how to peg him the dino arms into the torso he really does look like a badass knight. Love the split head on the shoulders, love the arms, bot mode is really awesome. Dino mode is kinda meh. Just not a lot to do with it, and the transformation is an absolute bitch. Second favorite of the three, but my favorite bot mode by far.

Can I ask how exactly do you peg them in? For the life of me, I can't get them to peg in.

On topic, I absolutely love this guy, especially his massive shoulderpads and forearms. Might get some gold paint and repaint his red parts gold to make him a Saints Row robot though.

Make sure the shoulders are all the way back (the ones swiveling in his upper chest) and then just finesse it in. It took me some time to figure it out, but they stay in surprisingly well once you get it.

He's a pretty neat figure, but it can be difficult to pose and transform at times.

Just got this guy today and immediately starting fiddling with him. A new head and a new paint job, and he could actually be a pretty good classics stand-in.

They are, IIRC, planing a G1 redeco of him. Maybe a Third Party will do a replacement head?

Slug really got overshadowed by the excellence of Scorn...which is odd, because Scorn has that "Beast Wars Megatron" transformation that I usually dislike. Still, while I love how he fits into the Dinobots in general, I consider him in particular a little marginal because his proportions and kibble in robot mode are just a little out of control.

Still, I haven't seen an AoE Grimlock I can imagine buying yet, so Slug it is as Dinobot leader!

Believe it or not, I actually like the sword "storage" in dino mode. He's like an armored chariot. By the time he starts charging you, you are doomed.

I also love the idea of the swords sticking straight out from his sides in dino mode.

Even if you manage to dive out of the way of his horns, the blades will still slice and dice you.

Like this guy a lot. Not quite as much as Scorn, but still good. And he looks like a total badass with his two swords in Bot mode.

For the love of god I can't get the legs to peg in the back. How'd you do it?

It's really, really tough. You need to line the pegs up perfectly and push way harder than you'd thing. With the spikes all around them, it really tends to hurt your fingers as well. Probably the only thing I really dislike about this figure.

I think somebody else already mentioned this, but it really helps if you make sure his shoulders are pulled back all the way. For the life of me I couldn't get the legs to peg in, then I made sure to always keep the shoulders back and they went in quite easily.
