After painting the chinstrap on my Hasbro version, I have no need for this one. Shame they didn't go for full-on Armada accuracy. That white doesn't look quite right.

Seibertron.com has a full gallery of the 2 of them. Go check it there.

I have the Hasbro one, but I adore this mold that I just went got this one too, and I don't think I've ever done that before.

I own both now, I think the head is great fully painted up. But a lot of the paint apps on this version are not accurate to the IDW design. That isn't a good or bad thing just something to note.

So looking forward to him! Definitely much better than Hasbro's version.

It's better but not much better.

I think that they overdid the white on him. The shoulder cannons in red would have been a better look.

Considering I now live in Japan, I'll prob pick this up if I can figure out where to buy this kind of thing (I'm in the north and havent seen transformers anywhere)

I have my us version and I think I actually prefer its color scheme, but this definitely looks great and I don't mind owning multiples of this mold.

Thank you so much for that fix. Mine had the same neck problem, and that fixed it.

Bumping an old(ish) thread (because I can), but I got mine a few weeks back, and whilst it LOOKS gorgeous... I just don't get why people like this thing. The articulation isn't that great. I mean, no wrist swivels? I'm so sick of no wrist swivels. Orion Pax got them, but it seems no one else is allowed them.

The swords just suck. I'm sorry, but they do. One of mine doesn't even fold up perfectly, so it doesn't sit under the wing properly. I sanded it, trimmed it, cut it etc. for ages, and looked at it from every angle, but I can't for the life of me figure out what's preventing it from folding up perfectly. It's just a stupid little amount that it can't fold up, too, so it's not like it's major, but it's still frustrating. And yes, the wings should totally become the swords. I'm currently planning a mod to do as much using the provided wings and swords. As far as I can tell, it's super-easy and only requires some cutting and gluing. I kinda want to get a Hasbro one so that I don't have to experiment on my Japanese one, but since New Zealand SUCKS, that won't be happening any time soon (or ever). But if it's so easy for me to do, why couldn't Hasbro do it instead?

The waist is awful. It doesn't lock. It just doesn't. It's PVC as all hell, and refuses to tab into the nosecone in any way. Maybe I could cut it, but I really don't want to make it worse. Not that I could really make it worse, since it doesn't lock at all anyway.

That's another thing - barely anything locks in place. There's that stupid white panel in his torso that doesn't do anything but get in the way and (barely) covers up the gaping hole in his chest, and, at least on mine, flipping it up in vehicle mode makes it angle slightly upwards, which wouldn't be a problem if it was just because it could move a little further, but it seems to almost have a faux ratchet joint (it doesn't, but it likes to sorta 'pop' into that position instead of staying perfectly horizontal). The head is a pain in the ass, too, because that red panel doesn't lock in place at all. Any time I try to move his head, the whole panel moves before the ball-joint, because the neck is tighter than that panel.

Finally, there are the cannons. I'm not disappointed that it isn't all gimmicky like the Armada toy, but the cannons are awful. The yellow bits that slide out are pointless. They're so loose that it's almost impossible to get them both to stay out, especially with those awful missiles, and there's no real change between having them on his back or having them on his shoulders. Sure, the folding cannons like the original Armada design would have been neat, but all I really want is an actual reason to put his cannons on his shoulders. They look the same as they do on his back, because all they do is flip up. If pushing them forward made them extend further over his shoulders so he didn't have giant pieces hanging out behind him, that'd be enough for me.

Overall, I'm very disappointed with this figure. I don't like it. It's not good. Rhinox, on the other hand, is very enjoyable. I think he looks great, and he's a nice figure. He also has some serious flaws (polyester backside, that useless crotch panel that doesn't fit into place when folded up, etc.), but he's a much better toy than Starscream. As it is, I much prefer the other Generations deludes, and even then, I haven't been super-impressed with most of them.

Okay, okay, Bumblebee/Goldbug/Goldfire is a pretty ass mould. It looks nice, though, and with some modifications, it gets much better.

Dunno if it'll be the same for you, but in Osaka the best places to look for mainstream Generations TFs are Toys R Us (kinda pricey though) and Yamada Denki. Yamada Denki may or may not have them subject to store size.
Joshin has been focussing on the TF GO! Series and now the Movie stuff, not sure about Bic Camera 'cos there aren't any near where I live.

I just got mine today (ironically the exact same day I got a Micron Legend Starscream), so I'm way late to the party but man do I LOVE him. The Armada Starscream mold is just excellent already and he really brings it out. He's just amazing in person. Hasbro A' SS was one of my favourite figures ever and this deco just blows it out of the water.

I took some quick comparison photos with the original Micron Legend Starscream, because I haven't see too many. Its a good comparison on why there are the deco changes.
