Picked up both Bludgeon and BH Magnus from Transfan2's shop recently; only saw a thread for Magnus, so creating one for Bludgeon. (Note: Apparently these have only been released in Canada so far (I think?), so it's the multilingual packaging. Apparently that means no little bio card you tear off like the other Cyberverse figures; the perforation is still there, but it's just info on Youtube.) Robot mode: - Remolded chest and head looks sharp - Deco is suitably Bludgeony, going back to the recent RotF Voyager - Head unfortunately can't move (I don't have my two Shockwave versions of the mold, so I don't recall if that one could either) - Comes with a redish orange version of the Star Saber Tank mode: - There's nowhere I can find for the Star Saber/sword to peg in during tank mode, unfortunately; there's not enough room on the underside of the tank for it to remain pegged into his hand either Overall: - No new QC or molding issues of any kind, poses and transforms just as well as the other two versions of the mold that I own I really hope these guys see a wider release because he's pretty cool. If you're a Prime completionist or have a thing for Cyberverse, Pretenders and/or Bludgeon, it's definitely worth tracking down (I only paid a little over what would be US retail for it, so if TF2's shop still has it in stock, I think it's worth it given its fate in the US is in limbo). Even as a one-off, if you stumble upon it, I think it's a cool little dude to snag to keep by your desk or something, though the inability to peg the sword anywhere in alt mode is unfortunate.
That was me that added the ball joint, and would do the exact same thing to Bludgeon if I could get it. I really do hope we see this and Magnus released, but it's doubtful. Nice close ups, there. Really shows the changed parts. It's funny how with just a new head and chest piece, a Shockwave mold becomes a totally different character rather than a bland repaint.
A Youtube disclaimer? Have I somehow missed those on all the figures I've bought? Bludgeon looks pretty good at not being Shockwave, though the cannon-arm doesn't really fit the character... as a samurai at least. If we reimagine him as a pirate or something I guess it could work. Would've made a better BM Scavenger update, I think.
It was me that added the pin joint (as opposed to Yaujta's more articulated ball joint). I'll probably do the same with the remold, which I MUST HAVE. Edit: Transfan2 is out of stock. Guess I'll have to wait on this particular mod project, then!
Yeah, he looks really good and different enough but agree with you on the arm, seems a shame they didnt change to something else. Cant have everything, i am pleased for chest which was the main thing thats iconically Shockwave. Hmm maybe a custom is on cards. Maybe a giant spinning blade arm tank mode... This wave is in limbo, we're waiting/wanting. Maybe it gets wider European release which greatly increases the chances for guys in the states. Maybe it gets released everwhere by going straight bargain shops which aint bad either.
Got mine today and am pretty pleased with him. He's a bit looser feeling compared to my Shockwave and mine does definitely suffer from some QC/mold degradation. For certain the rear treads don't like to stay folded all the way down when he's in tank mode and I'm not exactly sure but I think his chest piece doesn't peg in as far as it should so I might try shaving the sides down a bit. All in all he looks really cool and this mold works for him better than I expected. The arm cannon isn't exactly a great character fit as others have mentioned but any way this version of Bludgeon is pretty beefy compared to many of his past incarnations so I imagine that like the rest of the Prime cast he's an alternate take on an old character and sot he cannon arm doesn't bug me. I do wish the sword had a place to store in vehicle mode. You can peg it into the rear tracks but inserting the post into the back side of the rolly wheel but it's not intended to do that as it stops the wheel from rolling. With all the other remolded bits its a shame they couldn't find a spot to add a peg hole.
I got mine from Home Bargains via a friend, but you can order the wave online at their website. I've not TF'd it yet but I'd have thought the sword would store on the side of the rear track.
This guy is in the mail. Looking forward to seeing him up close. Not my most anticipated figure, but I'm too much of a Completionist when it comes to Prime Cyberverse.
I got mine from Home Bargains too, but had to look in several before I could find him. Eventually found him in Llandudno next to Smyths Toy Store. Bludgeon looks a lot better than Shockwave (which I don't own and have never seen). I didn't like how Shockwave's head looked in pictures. While Bludgeon looks like he can be repurposed to be G1 Bludgeon which is what I'm doing. The only flaws of the toy is its tank mode. I find it awkward to transform so I don't bother doing so as it doesn't look good anyway. I'm happy keeping Bludgeon in robot mode. The cannon arm detracts from the appearance from the robot mode but doesn't ruin it. It would have been nicer if his left arm was the same as his right arm but being a Shockwave remold, its forgiveable, plus its required for his tank mode. I don't bother having the grey spikes up on his back as they don't really add anything and look better down. And a minor nitpick is that he doesn't have paint on his knees like he does on the packaging image. I don't collect Prime toys but had to get Bludgeon when I first saw he was announced. I kinda hope that he gets repainted into Banzai-Tron like Movie Bludgeon has done.
I kove bludgeon, he is a really good retool commander. The chest, the skull head are sweet. Shockwaves is better for his alt mode which jares less due to the closer muted colours. Shockwaves tank mode really grew on me even though it is floppy because the leg treads dont peg, booo. Bludgeon even with the loud colours is executed really well. I like his black feet as they bring down the tone of the figure from being too loud and bright. My Bludgeon had no qualty issues, stirdy joints.
