I didn't see a thread for him yet, if I missed it, please merge.

I've been calling my local TRUs recently to check on the new Platinums. Finally found one that had just gotten in Starscream (though still no Optimus). So I took a small detour on my way to work and picked him up. I was pretty excited about this guy and getting him in hand, I wasn't let down.

No mold changes from the Cybertron version, so he's just as big and imposing as ever. He is solid. He's sturdy and his joints are tight. His paint scheme is top notch and he looks gorgeous in person. His sound effects hit an ear piercing pitch so that's fun. He lights up nice though so that looks cool. He's definitely one of the nicer Platinum figures to date.

Null Ray extended. Also, this picture does a decent job capturing how nice the metallic red looks. His paint job is really nice in person and I absolutely love it.

Headshot without the crown. Again the red looks so much better in person.

    With the crown.

Unfortunately the paint is messed up on both hips. On a cheaper figure I'd not care, but it's still small enough that I can deal.

And jet mode. It's a giant space jet. Rolls well enough. I like it.

When I realized how many different Seeker figures I had kicking around I had to do a group shot. Obviously, Starscream dwarfs them all. Generations Starscream and Skywarp were picked up in the same trip as Super Starscream.

I love this thing. First time with this mold and i love how big it is and the great deco. Not sure if its worth the asking price for most but i am happy with it.

I love big TFs..I just could not figure out a place to display it that would make me happy.

To the OP, who is a Starscream nut..Its probably a pretty sweet offering.

If I were to get this, I would prolly want to paint it, and make it into some HUGE cyberverse battleship or cruiser for the autobots to use against unicron or something..But then I would just get one of the originals on ebay on the cheap.

Its a real nice figure..Ive never handled one..what is the articulation like? You have him posed pretty static...can he pull off some sweet aiming poses or something cool?

Optibotimus shows off the articulation pretty well. Its not great but he can get some decent posing. The arms are what is limited. The legs have great in and out at the hip front and back and he has >90 degree knees. Most important he has really strong ratchets unlike metroplex

How come everybody rips this badboy, but looks like no one even has it?

Is it the price point? If so I can understand.

I got it with my birthday cash, and it's my favorite Starscream that I own. (HftD Leader a close 2nd)

It's just so massively awesome, and, considering electronics are on the downward trend, it's sweet having some sound and lights to a figure. I like the color scheme also.

I also wonder how he looks next to Metroplex. Just curious.

When this guy was first released ....I was interested. Who doesn't love a BAMFR - ( Big Arse Mother Fricken Robot)? G1 colors a plus, but the price was too many.

Well with Toys r Us dropping the price + 15 % off ..I picked him up.

    I like him...I like him a lot.

    Hmm.

I still think a repaint as "Overlord" would have been a more interesting use of this mold, but I have to admit, the G1 colors look really good on him.

Just got this big guy yesterday and DAMN is he impressive.
Sad that the paint on his hips scratches away more and more when you transform him.
Not to mention on mine the cyber key port for the sword was screwed in so tight it broke the tabs on the Decepticon Cyber key while I was trying to push it in for third time, after doing twice, successfully.
I went and loosened it so as to not break the Earth key

Anyone think Hasbro USA's shitty customer service will replace the cyber key for me?

    no....no I dont.

After buying hasbro stuff in the early 80's and enjoying PHENOMINAL customer service back then, I have learned, truth be told..they will tell you to piss up a rope. Especially because its a platinum TRU deal.

    Hi all,

I'm debating about adding this guy to my Pile of Loot over at BBTS. Has anybody's thoughts changed on him in the almost three and a half years since this thread was created (either good or bad?). I'm aware of the paint scratching but wondering how bad it can get? Any and all thoughts would be appreciated before I drop the cash on him. Thanks!
