Thank you! I managed to figure it out earlier, I had no idea the shoulder ball joints could retract inward like that. He looks a lot better now, and the shoulders don't flop as much.

Whirl is a beautiful figure and he just found his way on my MP shelf along the Autobots cars and surprisingly, he doesn't look out of place at all. He's very close to the G1 toy, has articulated claw-hands, a good amount a painted surface and the size feels just right. It's not like Whirl had ever been on the holy scale chart anyway.

I think I'm going to leave him there. MP purists can now express their outrage!

Out of the box, mine's left arm and leg are borderline floppy. I need to figure out how to fix that. Otherwise, he looks very nice. I like the fact he comes with stickers that I can pick and choose what to be of on my toy. The guns are all pretty fun as well. They have that great bonus of having a place to put each one on vehicle mode. I am quite pleased with the articulation as well, especially the ability to look up quite a bit.

Mine was the sameway and if its the ball and socket type joint you can remove it and apply a thin layer of nail polish, let it dry and pop it back it and it should add some fiction. Hope this helps

I'm shocked that there was only one post in the thread about the mis-numbered stickers. In retrospect, it has become clear to me that the smaller 17s belong on the legs...looking at copter mode port/starboard, above the lighter-blue heel that pops out for robot mode. The larger belongs on the cockpit.

Also, is it always this damned hard to get stickers off sheets? I damaged most of them trying. Is there some trick to this, so I know when I get Roadbuster? Argh.

Last things on stickers: for those of you who have used them, where did you put the 14s and how did your orient them? The instructions indicate they belong just behind the cockpit (port/starboard view), but I can't decide how they should look. If Hasbro keeps doing stickers, they should put indentations on the mold to make it more obvious where they go.

Anyway, so glad I read through this thread and learned about the shoulders and head.

And just remember: Whirl is spelled Ker-klick! CHOOM.

Here's some photos of the takara version, please excuse the photo quality. The color is definitely more blue than it looks in the pics.

Love the mold, the light piping doesn't work well so the light piping switch doesn't really work, but he looks great and the fact that all the tampos aren't stickers is really great

After a long long time waiting and wanting, I finally grabbed Whirl last night.

He delivered on damn near every level for me. Love the design, love the accessories (though my rounded gun thing is missing a pin so it splits in half pretty easily), love that he comes with stickers. Just an awesome figure. And he FEELS good, which is such a nice change of pace from most Transformers nowadays.

Mine has that smell. I just assumed someone at target had spilled lawn fertilizer on the case of voyager figures. Interesting this is the case with others.
