Today is Boxing Day in HK, and several toy stores have offered great deals on some figures. Of all the awesome figures that I were able to buy today, I think these two $12-figures are giving me the most enjoyment.

I have decided to just lump these two in one thread because I pretty much have the same comments for both of them.

Pics were taken while I was waiting for my fiancee in a cafe, so pardon the poor quality.

Overall, the build quality is pretty good. The plastic feels better than the earlier BH releases, no swirly plastic here. The joints are considerably tighter too since they replaced ball joints with universal (?) and swivel joints. Paint apps are well applied as well. I also really like the headsculpts on these guys.

As expected, the low point of these figures is articulation. They just have what their cyberverse counterparts have, and are thus lacking elbows, knees, and head movement.

Overall, I like these two a lot. They go very well with other BH Predacons. But of course, I am biased because I collect beast/dragon formers. I really hope they give the same treatment to the rest of the Terrorcons.

By the way, they have holes on their feet where pegs should have been. It's still possible to have a combiner gimmick if the Deluxe Hun-Gurr would have the pegs instead.

How big is Sinnertwinstrike in beast mode compared to a deluxe car? I have the legion and he feels huge compared to the legion cars.

These guys actually look like a lot of fun.

Elbows and knees would have been the killer feature for a "simpler" figure like these two. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what happens if they continue down the "easier transformation" path in the future.

I freely admit to having trouble figuring out transforming some of the Prime / Beast Hunters figures. :)

Will hold off on these until we find out if Abominus is gonna happen or not.

    If not, pass.

I like how so far they have a good plastic feel as well as the paint looks decent here but even then I'm not going to pick them up because well they're just upscaled Leigon figures that did no added articulation. It's nice that some people are enjoying them but even if they do combine I don't think it's worth it for me picking them.

Wow, they look great thanks in no small part to the colours. May get a Twinstrike even though I have the baby version. His face looks great.

Man, Rippersnapper ain't so bad either. Shit, just when I thought this up-scaling business was a bad idea.

I was always for the 'upscale Cyberverse figures', & this is a good reason why. The two Predacons have very nice weapons, a good looking sculpt, & have quite a bit more detail packed into them than their tiny counterparts

Not that I own either of these figures.

I can't wait to spot them in the wild, i don't mine not combining or lack of articulation. Just glad to hear the plastic quality is better than BH releases

When everyone went raging mad about upsizing legends..I stood out in the cold by myself saying I thought It was a GREAT idea for Hasbro overall.

I still stand by that..I think its awesome..and I hope they upaize/downsize a ton more cool toys.

These guys actually look pretty cool, though I don't know if I'd be willing to pay full deluxe price for them. If they knock a couple bucks of the MSRP then I might consider grabbing them, especially if they combine.

I must ask though, are Twinstrike's leg armor pieces still worrying to transform? On the legion figure I'm constantly afraid I'm going to break them off, not sure if the better plastic on the larger ones combined with the larger size of the pieces has alleviated this fear.

Given how the holes don't appear to be anywhere near the same size as each other, I severely doubt an Abominus is likely.

The Terrorcons are the best candidates for this upscale thing, though they still need a little extra work. Simple transformation is great and all, but that shouldn't preclude a more refined sculpt and perhaps improved range of articulation. Official Transformers should NEVER look like those terrible oversized knock offs.
Really, the new Voyager Predaking started out as an oversized Commander, but you could hardly tell by looking at it.

And why did they make those two the same colors?

    >no elbows or knees
    >no bigger than any other deluxes
    >no less expensive than any other deluxes

Yeah. No thanks. Hasbro can keep their cheapass money-grubbing legion upscales.

The last post in this thread was last year and these never saw the light of day beyond limited distribution. They didn't even have all five members in order to combine.

Since then they've show up in the UK in considerable quantity in both discount stores and TRU!

And they are rather good. I'd have bought all five in a flash.

Has anyone spotted a variant for Twinstrike, like the one Windrazor got? I currently still have the original Twinstrike packaged. If there is a variant out there, I don't want to open mine just yet.
