Actually the back profile is quite flat already. not really much of a kibble.

The cannons cannot be removed but can be retracted and stored individually.

    Hope this helps.

EDIT: Correct angle and transformation to reflect the side profile.

I'm not sure I understand all the complaining about back kibble. It looks exactly as I expected it would look.

    Awesome pics TCracker!

I can't put this down! And despite the fact that there are more steps than I'm used to, I can't stop transforming him either!!!

This seriously might be one of the greatest TFs ever made...no hyperbole. Both modes just look so incredibly flawless. Anyone complaining about the "hollow backs of the legs" needs to re-evaluate what went wrong with their lives. This toy is PERFECT.

The robot mode has such an incredible range of motion and EVERYTHING tabs into place so perfectly. He doesn't even look like he was designed to transform; he just looks like a figure of the character from the cartoon. The head is SO damn perfect it's scary.

And the car? My lord, the car also tabs to perfection.

LOVE this toy....I understand a lot of people had some gripes about MP 12 with paint issues or parts not fitting correctly....NONE of that here! Truly a Masterpiece in every sense of the word!!!

Tcracker...in your pics, you haven't tabbed the flat square black piece on the chest into the slot under the hood! Holds it all together much more solidly!

There are so many things to like about this mold, the head sculpt, the fact that he holds his gun A LOT more sturdier than the Lambor mold, and the legs.
The way they are engineered is amazing and allows for so much range of motion!

Only gripe I have with this is that it comes with NO accessories other than its (beautiful) gun.

Can the wings/doors be positioned to stick out parallel to the ground to look more like the '84 toy?

Agreed. It's not back kibble at all... it's just his... back. It looks absolutely no better or worse than Sideswipe/Red Alert's, and is in fact shockingly cleaner looking than it could have been.

Hmm, one more question for those who have him: can the base of the doors be raised higher up in robot mode? My only VERY minor nitpick would be that the doors seem to be set slightly lower than optimal.

He looks great in someone else's collection. But I won't buy this for a number of reasons.
    1. If Lambors very poor paint is anything to go by, I will stay clear of these.
    2. Misaligned panels. Poor quality in general.
    3. Just too small. Basically deluxe size.
    4. KOs of Lambor are everywhere. Soon Prowls I expect.

    MP Prowl is simply perfect!

Awfully dated alt mode... An updated car... That makes me sad. :(

That dated alt mode happens to be a classic with an amazing heritage.

An updated car would defeat the purpose of what the MP line is currently about.

Everything about this MP represents a perfect G1 Prowl and based on your post, maybe you should avoid this one and stick with the Classics.

Wait, if it's got bad paint, poor quality, and is too small, why would you be interested in the KO?

Really it's just a hope for #4, right? Come on. We're friends here.

Thanks for the pictorial review. This thing is beautiful, but I'll have to wait another month before I get the first out of three that I've bought. These pictures will keep me entertained while I wait :D

I said it before, but I gotta reiterate....to me the best thing about this toy is how well it all tabs into place.

In car mode, all the panels align perfectly. No gaps. It pretty much looks like a model car.

And robot mode is even more impressive. The legs have a full range of motion, from the hips to knees to the crazy over-sized feet. And the waist swivels of course cause it's part of the transformation. But the chest tabs in and locks, and the back plate also tabs in and the figure just feels SO solid after that.

I don't have a lot of MPs....but I have MP9 and he's a floppy mess that can't lock any of his parts down. And MP 11....LOVE it, but the chest is also floppy and loose.

This guy fixes all of that. Such a solid design...whether you are a fan of the character or not, this is definitely the best designed and execution of the designs we've seen in MP yet!!

I canceled my preorder for Smokescreen but now I'm reconsidering it, cause having all three of these guys together is just too awesome....
