Looks good, still prefer my Takara version, the extra money was worth him being better looking and having him and the cassettes so much earlier, but this guy is cheap enough to double dip when it starts appearing on Australian shelves as a back-up.

The differences are minor, I think all there is are

    -Soundwave has show-accurate red eyes
    -More Silver Paint
    -Gold Chrome on cassetes

The red eyes are the kicker for me, I hate the yellow, but as I said, I'm happy to double-dip for that price.

    Just opened mine.
    This set is AWESOME!

The box was larger than I expected. Pleasant surprise! It was also pretty banged up because TRU doesn't respect the collector market... Then again, those guys still haven't charged my credit card even though my order processed, shipped, and is now at my house!
I LOVE this toy. I was really jealous of all the SW pics many months back when he came out in Japan, and am PSYCHED to have this finally in hand. I don't mind the unpainted feet. I may paint it myself, one day. I had a couple of paint smudges on his face, but honestly that's been par for the course with me and TRU exclusives.
The cassettes are better than I had expected! Really love these guys! They seem fragile, but I expected that. This is a $120 collectible, after all. If it were 3rd Party, we'd treat it very delicately. That's how I treat Masterpiece figures.
What else can I say? I hope to get some pics up tomorrow night. Until then, enjoy this guy if you have him, go hunt him down if you don't!

EDIT: Turns out my Rumble came with 2 left blasters. If anyone has two right (when placed on back, fins face right) blasters, let's hook up a trade!

EDIT 2: I think that technically means my Rumble came with two left PILEDRIVERS, since the guns fit differently into each piledriver. Yet, from the outside you cannot tell the difference between piledrivers.

    Soundwaver vs Soundwave differences:

    Yellow visor
    really bad chrome apps
    alot of bad overspray
BIG CE on side of right calf
    horrible flashing on thighs
Non painted heel cubbies (horrible maybe he has fungus or athletes foot)

    Differences in tapes:

    Loose joints (be careful!)
Rumble is more of a lavender then blue
Frenzy is a really dark red vs the orangey red of the TT (pile drivers are half orangey and half dark red for whatever reason)

I think ravage is the same and so is LB.
Buzzsaw is a more duller shade of yellow than the TT

I prefer the TT versions, but you can't lose with either.

I got my Soundwave my tapes have crazy tight ball joints. My Ravage came with his left front paw assembled upside down, which I pulled off and flipped around. But sadly my Buzzsaw's camera part was cut too close so it has all of the camera detail missing. Other than those two issues everything else was fine

Soundwave looks okay. I'm not going to stress out about getting the Hasbro one. If I find it great, but I have the Takara one on Pre order from HLJ so I will get him one way or another. I am not overly impressed with the cassettes anyway so if I don't get them, no biggie.

Any pictures of the two versions together? I'm really curious to know how their blue plastic parts match up color-wise.

Are there any potential QC issues?

The index finger joints. The left index finger of mine popped out when I tried moving it. I've read a few comments that indicate this is a problem with Takara versions and MP-10.

I've never had that problem on either toy. They only pop off during forced overextension, which is incredibly obvious and not an occurrence during normal handling.

Consider yourself lucky if all you had to do was switch your ravage's paw around. Mine was totally missing that left front :(

Opened mine today, love it. Doesn't feel as much weight as some other MPs but for the price I cannot complain.

I never had a problem with Soundwave's yellow visor. This is no different.

Rumble and Frenzy are absolutely the best. Amazing design.

Ravage...not so much. Better than the Ravage that came with $10 Hound but is this really MP worthy?

Laserbeak/Buzzsaw is a step up from G1. Nice.

Masterpiece Soundwave (mini collection, not even my MP SW)

Just wanted to share. I was too slow to snag a Masterpiece Soundwave from TRU.com, but a friend of mine from outside of the US managed to get one and have it delivered to me. Prior to shipping it overseas, he asked me to open up the box and check for QC issues. I happily obliged and took these pics. I'm sure I mistransformed something, but I don't care. It was fun :)

My thoughts are this is one of the finest molds to come out in quite some time. Wish I owned it myself, but for now I was happy taking these pics....
