Here a repost of my review as I had to separate the two toys.

Just got Trailbreaker in the mail today but he didn't come with any packaging as they are loose figures from the factories in China. He's the Hasbro release that is due out later on in the month. Overall I love the figure as he has been long over due for a reimaging under the Generation line. The head sculpt on him is great as its close to the IDW head and has cues from G1. And his visor light piping just pops on this guy and the plastic on the visor has a bit of a metallic sunglass style them reflective shine quality to it. You will have to see it in person to know what I mean. There isn't a lot of paint on him but plastic on the toy feels pretty good and he has the following articulation, head swivel, shoulder ball joint, elbow bend and swivel, no wrist swivel, waist swivel but a bit tight, hip ball joint, thigh swivel, knee bend and no ankle tilt. Overall the figures has pretty decent articulation. Trailbreaker comes with a shield for a accessory and the figure is a bit small compare to older generation figures. I would say he the same size as current generations figures such as the FOC toys. He a bit bigger then causaulity figures from Fansproject which is about a scout size figure. In the end, the only major flaw I find from him is that I wish that he would have been a bit bigger as that would allow him to scale better. Trailbreaker was always a larger G1 robot so he should be taller then the other car bots but its a minor thing in the end. After playing with the toy more I would say the two negative point on the figure is that I don't like how the shoulders lock in to the chest with the small tab as mine doesn't lock in that well. Secondly, with the feet being flat it a bit annoying to try to pose this guy. But in the end, still luving the fact we have a generation figure after 7 since the classic line started. My 84 Ark crew is almost completed.

UPDATE: I've included a pic of Trailbreaker besides some smaller generation deluxes for everyone to see. As you can see he still very small for a deluxe.

He's small, but I don't really mind, since I'll be displaying with ROTF Lockdown, who dwarfs everyone, and subsequently with the other MTMTE figures like Swerve and Skids.

I assume the shield/gun can attach on his back for the traditional cannons-over-the-shoulders look?

If this guy had painted rims like Hoist, he'd be the clearcut definitive version of this mold IMHO. As is, I am just leaning towards him because of the differences in alt mode.

I really like the look of Generations Trailcutter. Despite the smaller size, I am really liking the chunkiness of both modes.

Okay, yeah - now that we have comparisons with more average-sized Classics guys, he looks like he fits right in.

Given we're getting a new Trailbreaker in some way after all these years again, I have to be thankful.
However, I do wish he was a bit bigger in size. Same with Hoist. Still, I have to remember scale doesn't really exist in this line anymore than it did in the G1 days. Heck, look at all the Classics style seeker jets.

Other than being a new Trailbreaker, I'm not so enamored with this toy any more. I think I'll be passing on Trailcutter at least for the time being.

    Thanks for the (non-video) review!

His height next to the Sideswipe and Silverstreak is disappointing... though those guys are perhaps 'overly' tall. Back when Inferno was made as a voyager I had hoped Trailbreaker would eventually get that treatment too. Well... guess have to put him next to shorter guys. Looks like he should at least be a fun figure.

Looks nice, but I'll echo the desire for a bit larger toy.

Wow, I haven't had many Classics on display lately (I cycle) and I forgot how big the Sideswipe/Sunstreaker/Red Alert/etc. Mold is.

No it can't attach on the back to give him his backpack look. At least I haven't figure out a way to do it. The way his truck cabin folds in robot mode prevents the shield from tabbing into any of the peg holes in his forcefield generator or the peg in the back.

The size is a pity (as mentioned before) but everything else is great. This will do.
