Can't take a picture at the moment, but the combiner head is really big compared to a regular one, and the mold has very small and thin arms - so not really, unfortunately. :(

With the release of TFCC's Fisitron (AKA Ironfist) putting Ruination together with more visual balance has just been made easier and with these photos makes him look great (Never would have thought of sloting Whirl into the back and getting an additional figure to balance him).

This is probably old news, but I will leave it here.

    1) Topspin and Whirl's weapons both fit nicely on the side of Whirl's gunblades. If you assemble the phase gun without Impactor's double gun, you will be able to get some oversized shotgun.

    2) Ruination is able to get a "hook-arm". Impactor's weapon perfectly fits inside Topspin's folded legs. Bonus: if you remove the harpoon/missile, the part sticking out still looks like FoC's flamethrower. Now you have to get a second Impactor for your Bruticus!

    3) As somebody previously reported, Whirl's "skirt" lets the helicopter mode fit stably on the back of Ruination, freeing space for Fisitron and giving Ruination's torso some bulk.

    4) It is possible to fit Twintwist's weapon in front of the hover-tank. This requires some massaging, though. The small tabs in the front of the tank have their respective gaps on the sides of Twintwists' drills.

No pics, but you should get the idea :)

Well since the threads been revived and I've been playing with Ruination again since getting Ironfist I thought I'd share some photos.

Using hte same arrangement I've been happy with since I got G2 Bruticus apart from swapping Whirl, now on the back, for Ironfist. The arm symmetry does make the body look bulkier. which great.

Looks great! Topspin's mistransformation looks like a great improvement for stability.

Keep an eye out on eBay or the Junkion Exchange forums and you might be able to snag a used set for pretty close to retail. I managed to win an eBay auction of them complete but without instructions for about $65 after shipping back in June and this was after Club Fisitron was released.

I'm hoping for Marvel/IDW comics colors Impactor to be made as a Botcon exclusive, with Xaaron colors Ruination head.

I'm expecting one of the Combaticon molds will be seen at this year's Botcon.

Funny that this just got bumped, I assembled Ruination for the first time in a long time the other night. I used Ironfist and Roadbuster as his arms, which gives him a great muscular, symmetrical look! Guess we all have combiners on the brain right now...

is this one still desirable? Ive been thinking about getting rid of mine. I have 2 twin twists I used for the arms, and put topspin on his back. Pretty cool. I think these were some really cool guns that came with this set.

I think this one will stay desirable. The components were pretty hard to come by and it's a unique piece. I think this mold retains its appeal as a quirky "what-if" Wrecker combiner, whereas FOC Bruticus may become less desireable when a CW Bruticus is released.

Personally, FOC Bruticus didn't interest me at all, but this guy was a must get the moment I saw him--and I still love messing with him.

Ruination is my first complete combiner and I gotta say I don't like him so much. I am not crazy about the color schemes and he looks too langy and the hip/leg connection comes apart too easily.

Basically I bought this because I wanted a combiner.

I am looking forward to Superion. (I am missing Air Raid) Had I known there'd be ones coming soon I would have passed on Ruination. I could've saved my money for Superion and Devastator.

    Hi all,

Sorry to bump an old thread but wanted to share some pics. I bought the Wreckers for an outstanding price (loose and used) from ablack23 on the BST topic back in February and was quickly able to score Fisitron on eBay for $20~ shipped which I thought was a heck of a deal at the time. At the beginning of the week my son (9) caught me transferring all of 'em from one box to another and asked if he could see them. I hadn't planned on gifting any of them to him for a while yet but since I still have a boxed FoC G2 Bruticus to give him at a future date I said, sure, why not? And he's having the time of his life playing around with it in Ruination form. Bogatan here gave me the idea to seek out Fisitron when I did and I thank him and others for the idea of adding him to the mix. So, just some quick pics. I'm trying a "peg leg" approach but it ain't working out too great, heh:

I finally completed this set... I'll upload pictures later. My camera's battery went dead at Comic Com earlier today so it's charging right now and I still gotta edit that footage...

Anyway... I've customized mine a bit to differentiate them more from the Combaticons. I should probably judge them by how they come stock out of the package not by my modifications but that's boring and there isn't much I can say that would be different from the Combaticons since out of package the only difference is paint and head sculpts. And since I brought that up. I think this version of the set is actually better painted than Bruticus. They all actually have paint for the Energon/Tron glow lines that were in the game while Bruticus forgets most of those details and leaves them unpainted. This is especially weird when the Wreckers aren't actually in the game but Bruticus is. Though to be fair the version of Bruticus that I have wasn't painted to be game accurate in the first place. I have the retail version and the game accurate version I believe was sold in a box set for a higher price at a convention or something. So just so you know I'm compairing the Wreckers to the basic retail version of the Combaticons.

I'm going to go in order from my favorite to my least favorite.

Topspin: This guy right out of the package actually did have one other remolded part besides the head... There's a panel with a peg hole that allows for weapon storage of his new gun. This is the only figure to have a specific spot for his new weapon molded in. The others want you to mount their weapons in weird places that don't make a lot of sense and look terrible because they weren't designed with these weapons in mind.

Additions: I've taken the four guns that were on Deluxe DotM Topspin and attached them to the four peg holes in the back of his vehicle mode. They fit nicely and he can be transformed in all his modes without removing them.

Robot mode: The head design is a little boring. Also the joins on his arms are a little loose on mine so he can't even really hold his gun straight. The original Blast Off version of the mold however can lift it just fine so this might just be a QC issue with my Topspin.

Twin Twist: Oddly Brawl was my favorite of the Combaticons but this guy got pushed down a bit cause I've probably done the most custom work on him and he was a pain in my arse to work on. I removed his cannons completely. The vehicle mode is slightly mistransformed to bring that rig forward cause that's how I attach his drill weapon. He's now a straight up drill tank. Kinda wish Hasbro had thought to design him this way in the first place because he's suppose to be a drill tank not Brawl with a drill weapon randomly mounted on top where it's totally useless. Anyway this change gives his a completely different look from Brawl.

Robot Mode: Cause this version no longer has cannons it's also changed the look of his robot mode. That head reminds me a lot of Megatron but I don't mind that so much. I'd probably annoy me more if he shared Megatron's color scheme but he doesn't so I'm OK with accepting this guy as a different character.

Roadbuster: This was my least favorite of the Combaticons due to the fact that of the five he's the least solid. However he moved up a bit cause I've been able to do more with him to differentiate him from his Combaticon counterpart than the last two. Anyway... This one actually has my favorite weapon. He has a gun that transforms into a totally different gun and both of them are based on weapons that were actually in the game. All the weapons have some sort of gimmick. Impactor's is suppose to launch a missile. Twin Twist has moving drills. Top Spin has a spinning saw that deploys. Whirl has a spinning Gatling gun. This one just transforms into another gun and actually can stay in either mode. It's not like one of those stupid mech tech weapons. I freaking love this gun.

Additions/Alterations: I removed the pipes from one arm and attached the saw weapon from Human Alliance Roadbuster. It fits pretty well into that socket though it is a little loose. It has fallen out while transforming the figure but other than that it usually stays in pretty well. The only bad thing is that I can't find any place better for the saw that would make more sense. He just kinda looks like he's caring around a useless saw on the side of his vehicle mode. The other set of pipes is still attached... I kind of want to remove them but that's the only thing hiding his hands and I don't have a replacement part for that side.

I've also popped his arms off the ball joints and switched the shoulders around. The result of which is that the shoulder panels now site upside down from Swindle's. I hadn't really planned on this but the way they're painted on Roadbuster kinda matches details on the front of his vehicle mode and I had him mistransformed so rather than hiding the shoulder pads under the fenders they stick out a little bit in the front which gives his vehicle mode a bit of a different look from Swindle. This really shouldn't work but it looks so good if I didn't know better I would think it was intended to work this way.

Robot Mode: Again I actually like his head sculpt more than Swindle. The saw on his arm makes more sense here as he can actually use it. Also the pipes I'm not bothering to flip around just to make him look a bit different from Swindle. And yeah his shoulder pads are upside dowm. It's kinda amazing how much little differences like these can help separate the two characters from each other.

Impactor: I had to mistransform his arms in order to get his weapon to mount without Onslaught's gun but it works. His gun has two pegs which his hands can hold onto as long as you arrange them in such a way that they're upside down from how they should sit in vehicle mode. It sits a little bit higher when the arms are arranged this way but I don't mind that.

Robot Mode: I really like the head sculpt on this guy. I actually like him more than Onslaught. The original head looks kinda generic and boring compared to this version. Unfortunately I got this guy loose with no missile for his gun. I didn't realize that the gun was molded to hide his hand and I think it was intended to replicate the look of Impactor's original design which only had one hand. A lot of the guns from the game actually replace the hand of the robot so you might be thinking it was designed based on that but he's the only one who's weapon was designed this way. The other four just look like they're holding giant guns rather than their arm is a gun. It's a shame the missile is missing cause it would of completed the look... though knowing me I'm likely to end up accidentally launching it into a pocket dimension where lost missiles go anyway.

I'm also going to point out that just to differentiate him from Onslaught I have him transformed so that the shoulder spikes are up in this mode. They're suppose to be used in combined mode not here but I have it reversed for the Wreckers. Impactor has the spikes Ruination does not. I would of put him higher but there's not a whole lot I can do with him to make him not look like Onslaught. There's no spots to add weapons, he doesn't have any parts I can take off him, the only difference is the weapon and how I transform him. Of the five he feels the most like a straight up repaint.

Whirl: I removed the helicopter blades and basically got him looking like an entirely different vehicle. Vortex has always looked the least alien to me and those blades just get in the way in every other mode except vehicle so I just took them off. That panel is gone. It just pegs in so I could put it back if I wanted to. It was surprisingly easy to take off. I also found a way to wedge his gun onto the under side of the vehicle mode. It's not totally secure but it works. You have to have the skirt piece lifted up though.

Robot Mode: Whirl is mainly last on this list because I hate Whirl... I can not look at that head and not see Shockwave. My original plan to swap out the head with another figure turning this into Seaspray, without the helicopter blades he looks like a submarine. However the other figure I was going to use turns out is on a different size ball joint. The head fits inside the cavity for vehicle mode but is REALLY loose on Whirl's body and the body I was going to use with Whirl's head as a custom Shockwave I can't attach the head at all because the ball joint is too big. Also I thought the blue's would match better based on pictures I seen online but in person the other head I was going to use looks more pink while Whirl looks more purple to my color blind eyes. So basically he's still stuck with that Whirl head which I hate because I can't see that as anything other than Shockwave. That's really the only reason he's last on this list because he's the only one where I want to replace his head.

    Now lets talk combined mode...

Ruination: Now it seems officially Bruticus has one configuration while Ruination has all the parts swapped which I like so that's how I have them configured. And again Impactor's shoulder spikes are down for this mode which further changes the combined look. Roadbuster being the left arm rather than the right leg, that saw ends up being on his shoulder. I'm also not entirely sure exactly how his arm mode is suppose to work cause he didn't come with instructions. I have instructions for all the others but I got him loose and have no idea how his arms are suppose to peg in. I've tried to figure it out just based on pictures but I have no idea what to do with his arms so I just have it configured my own way. I made sure that the arm I placed the saw on would be the one that ends up on the front of the shoulder for this mode. Also really like the head sculpt here.

I would also like to point out that Brawl/Twin Twist has the worst arm mode. I don't like the way he holds weapons as an arm, he has a GIANT shoulder pad, and his elbow is basically in his arm pit. It's a terrible arm.

Anyway... the weapons... the instructions, and I do have instructions for everyone except Roadbuster only show one configuration for the Combaticon weapons which I don't even use because I attach Onslaught's gun to Bruticus' back. I'm not even using those weapons at all for Ruination and the instructions say nothing about what to do with the new weapons for this mode. They all have extra pegs and slots which I've attempted to use to combine them but some of them are loose and there's no decent way of combining them where they actually stay together. At least none that I've found. I decided to basically just arm mount Roadbuster and Whirl's guns onto horrible right arm, The left hand is holding Impactor's gun. Topspin's gun is mounted on the left arm where Roadbuster would normally mount a weapon in vehicle mode. Twin Twist's weapon is being loosely stored in the back of the figure. None of the weapons have any way of pegging back there like Onslaught's gun does but Twin Twist's does the best job of covering that hole in his back and gives him twin drills over his shoulders instead of the cannons that Bruticus has, the only problem is literally nothing is holding. Any movement at all will knock the drills off his back. It's just sitting in that cavity. He looks great sitting on my shelf next to Bruticus. I like Ruination's head sculpt better but honestly Bruticus has weapons that are actually intended to combine and actually has a solid back with Onslaught's gun stored back there and Runiation has a lot of guns that can't combine and a loosely covered hole in his back because those weapons aren't really intended for these figures, they're after thoughts. Also Bruticus actually has two working hands... sure one's molded flat but odd it can still hold things and they both look like decent arms while Ruination has one good arm and a gimp arm that looks terrible and can't actually hold anything. I mean you can arm mount weapons but he doesn't have a functional hand due to the way that mold transforms.

So can I recommend these figures... Honestly no... I've put a lot of work into these guys to make them look and feel like different figures from the Combaticons. Right out of the box they're basically the exact same figures and I really prefer the originals over these. Even after I've customized them despite the fact there are things about this set I really do like I still prefer the original versions. If you're going to get a set of these I would have to recommend the Combaticons not the Wreckers... and unless you're going to customize them like I did there's really no reason to have both versions.

I have pictures posted in the customs forum here. Minor/Repaint: - FoC Wreckers
