This is just a quick and simple review of the new IDW inspired legends class Megatron.

For starters here is Megatron in vehicle mode.

I was pleasantly surprised that Chopshop can officially combined with Megatron in vehicle mode. I believe that this is unique to the 4 new legends figures.

It creates a kind of cow catcher.

The transformation, for the size, is quite interesting. Basically all of the tank treads are in the legs and can be split away and folded together to form the legs of the vehicle.

The chest panel with that carries the Decepticon symbol in robot mode can spin 360 degrees when the arms are not locked in place and provides an ingenious way to give the tank turret a full circle of movement.

The headsculpt is nice and his arm cannon is more visually more like a precision weapon which is an interesting change. Chopshop, as a weapon, essentially becomes a pair of cyber claws or more like scissors.

As a conclusion to a short review on this guy, I'm impressed by everything that is packed into this little figure. My only disappointment is that TFP Commander Class figures tower over these Generations legends as below.

To be fair, CVC Prime Megatron is rather large.

Short review, but at least you have actual pictures.
Speaking of which, this looks like a great representation of miner Megatron. No complaints whatsoever.

    Thanks for the pics..

Megatron is my Fav TF character. I LOVE cyberverse too.

Why in the hell am I so unimpressed with Megatrons look?

Chopshop..meh..that will get tossed on the shelf or something..it has no place on Megatron. Looks silly on the tank..silly on his arm..no thanks. It's a cool pack in, but not what I would like to see. How about actual legion insecticons? And make the minicon like...reflector or something..split up in 3 different packages.

To be fair...this Megatron reminds me of "origins:megatron" comic...I am just sick of Megatron tank modes.

This actually is inspired by the Megatron Origins design.

That why guys are calling him miner Megatron huh? Because of what he did before being a gladiator?

    Well...that's cool...but he didn't turn into that..

I must have read that comic run 10 times...and this design is only vaguely familiar.. the head..yes..

Yes, you're right. I believe it is 'minertron' with an earth alt mode.

Thanks for the review! This is one I'll get for sure. I love that he can have a minesweeper made out of a bug. I'm also really glad they went with 5mm hands for these new Legends because it means they can share weapons with larger figures.

Also, maybe my coffee got drugged this morning but why do I keep seeing this mold repurposed as TFP Breakdown? Not the alt mode of course, but in bot mode...maybe it's the chest and overall proportions? Anyway, make him blue with Breakdown's head and I'll buy the mold all over again! And he could be displayed with Cyberverse Bulkhead without looking ridiculous.

It most definitely can. It's not noted in the instructions but it can and was obviously designed to do so.

I don't know why but to me the plastic looks so cheap on this guy and Starscream. So far all of these 30th anniversary legends have been easy passes for me.

I think its just Hasbro's Attempt at making something look Metallic when its plastic. Unfortunately, we as adults lose that ability kids have to see through that funky milky looking plastic. I agree..The plastic looks funky..but I will still get ALL of these if they keep up the quality that BB and Prime have.

I reeeeeeealy dislike the brown/tan plastic. The figure looks great otherwise. Hopefully it's an easy, quick sharpie job.

I find it deeply amusing how in "cow-catcher" mode Chop Shop has his arms stretched out ready to grab anything Megatron drives towards.

Definitely want to get Chop Shop, not so much Megatron. The latter's hands legs are two sizes too big. And I wish a "miner" Megatron turned into a mining vehicle, not yet another damn tank. Granted I'm not entirely sure what the canon alt is.

Looks fun and interesting, IDW-like with a hint of G2.

I don't want an army of Megatrons, but I kinda want an army of Chop Shops.

I actually really like this guy. Great review! I really hope they make a Legends Ironhide. It's actually been on my mind the past few days.

Yeah I see where you're coming from. I guess I'm just so completely satisfied with my the RTS "G1" Legends (even if they are smaller/less articulated) that these just leave me feeling like "eh, don't need 'em."
