The colors are almost dead onto his G1 persona, I don't get why some people say they clash I think the red and grey break up what would otherwise be a monotonous black and yellow pallette. The vehicle mode is gorgeous...simply gorgeous. Sunstreaker gets an A- ![]() www.facebook.com/SlowRicky Check out Grimlock_13's Attempt at Funnies if you dare! Vipers. Anyone else have this trouble? Maybe I can search out a better one - at least it's easy to see a car mode that fits together well in those packages. |

Deadend's car mode is probably my favorite of all alts, and Sunstreaker's look great too, I only wish his forearms were black, but I may fix that myself in the future. This is what this mold was meant to be, and I'm happy we got him, and while he has all the same shortcomings of Deadend, he still looks like he would kick your ass and spit on your corpse. I have a deadend that got junked, and have been thinking of swapping the tail lights, since that is the only thing that strikes me as off on this alt. |

| Herald of Unicron Join Date: Aug 2002 Posts: 3,700 Location: Port Jervis, NY | Sunstreaker was my first Autobot, and my 3rd TF after Ravage and Rumble, so I regret to say I'm a bit disappointed in this figure. Don't get me wrong, it's about as good as it can be, but his mold simply is not that good, and I find the new colors make it a bit worse. To start, the Sideswipe mold is probably the weakest of all the Alternators. The legs have little articulation, the torso is too wide, and the arms proportionately too skinny. Dead End mold was a touch worse as the lost the chest piece exposed a bit too many nuts and bolts. This was less noticable with Dead End's color scheme, but the canary yellow just seems to call attention to the vacant upper torso. At the same time, the rear backpack jumps out making the torso appear even wider, while the gray and red arms recede, and thus seem even more puny. The one saving grace with this mold is the vehicle. The Viper is simply a beautiful design, and Sunstreaker does look good here. Just not as good as Dead End. We've come a good way in this line, and revisiting this mold only reminds me of how weak it was in the first place, and how much better the line has become. |

| Watch him out! Join Date: Jan 2005 Posts: 10,669 Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa Collection Count: more than I probably need. News Credits: 1 | Got mine today at Wal-Mart. They had three out of the four Alts from the new wave. No Skids for Switchy. Still, I'm loving Sunstreaker. I actually like him more than Dead End, although I've yet to put the two next to each other. The joints are a bit tighter than I'm used to with Dead End or Sideswipe. This is especially obvious in the fingers, heels, and side mirrors. The legs move more smoothly, though. I am a bit disappointed with some of the paint aps. The red lines at the bottom of his legs are kind of sloppy, and there's a bit of silver bled over onto the black on his head. The big downer, though, is the very noticeable smear on top of his roof. I'll have to see if I ahve any model paint to fix it. It's a pity there's such a mar on an otherwise gorgeous figure. |
