News Credits: 12 | Cybertron Longrack review w/ pics I just picked up Cybertron Longrack, a remold of Armada Hoist. I never picked up Armada Hoist so the mold is new to me. Vehicle mode is pretty cool. It is a construction type vehicle with a big digging crane. Longrack comes with a Cybertron Planet cyber key and you must insert the key to activate the use of his shovel. After the key is inserted, a button behind the shovel extends the shovel forward and back.
Robot mode is very interesting. He has a nice yellow and brown paint job, with red shovel and claw. The legs are primarily grey.
His head sculp is very nice. He looks almost as if he is a relative of Override.
The vehicle's shovel becomes his right arm and his left arm is a claw of sorts, with an elbow. The head can look up and turn. Again the cyber key activates the shovel's usage. He has knees, but swivels on the thighs or knees would have been a nice addition. His waist also swivels. Overall Longrack is a nice looking figure and I recommend him, especially if you don't have Armada hoist! Read "Gears' Comedy Explosion!!!" How awesome is Gears? |

The cyber-key addition works similar to Armada (insert key/minicon to unlock the mechanical shovel arm movement), but Hoist's lock stays unlocked when you remove the Minicon, unless you manually reset it. I prefered that myself. Also the bigass chunk that you push to move the shovel is a lot more overdone and ugly on Longrack IMO.
The headsculpt on Longrack is nice, but the more elaborate helmet design makes the head and face look much smaller and more disproportionate than Hoist's.
My verdict: If you don't have Armada Hoist, or are a Longrack fan (for whatever reason) or a completist, it's a nice toy. Otherwise, it's barely worth getting IMO, as most of the changes hurt, rather than help it in my eyes. How the Animated toy line REALLY came to an end |
