I was soooo excited for FoC Grimlock when announced but by the time photos started to show up and impressions were floating around I couldn't bring myself to grab him after having multiple opportunities. Maybe on clearance.

This figure though, most of the griping seems like nitpicks and QC issues, so no offense, but I think lots of peope are going to end up absolutely loving this guy.

And yeah, review threads ARE for nitpicking and griping but I think some people are taking it farther than they would with the fig in hand.

Also, not for nothing but your photos are sweet and the early review IS much appreciated.

No worries man. I can't wait for you guys to get this in hand too, or see video reviews, so that I'll know if the issues are just with mine or if I did something wrong.

By the way, I forgot to mention that the instructions are really shitty.

Thanks for the review archie boy! I'm disappointed in the quality issues, but will be picking this up anyway.

    ... I love everything I see.

    Really.

I don't mind there being gaps in the alt modes of a triple changer. I think both modes look awesome. The shoulder issue is kinda bad, but let's face it, we have LOTS of toys with similar problems that are still praised (RTS Jazz's floppy chest says hello)

I can't wait to get this guy.

Despite the flaws and issues with Blitzy. My mind is still saying buy him and who knows maybe you gotten a shoddy one. Still you can't deny that he looks awesome, but that's my honest opinion.

I love it too, I am glad the two alt modes at least if you do not look at the back does look like completely different vehicles and the tank cannon under plane mode doesn't look derpy like it did on G1...

The only major complaint is the plane needs to bigger than the tank like in real life, that is why I like the not so great animated as it did that where it went longer a little bit.... Still I can not wait to get it.

I'm still super excited for this dude, I think he looks pretty great, shoulders are the only thing I'm not a huge fan of, but oh well.

Same here-- I'm amazed at how little any of these "issues" bother me. I still consider Blitzwing an instant buy in spite of them. I learned long ago that there's no such thing as a perfect figure, so I'm fine with flaws as long as they don't render the whole damn toy non-functional.

The review says you love how the tank treads work, but you don't say how they work. What's the thing with the tank treads that you like?

First off thanks for the review Archieboy and I love the variety of pics.

The shoulders are dissapointing, but at least his entire chest doesn't flip up like RTS Jazz. Generally he looks good in terms of filling the classics Blitzwing gap, so I will still get him.

Going to pass on this guy for the time being until we see whether the issues are a design flaw or a simple QC issue with the one you got. Not a fan of the rotating faces though. Wasn't crazy about it in TF: Animated and am disappointed that they're sticking with it.

Thanks for the pics but I don't really agree with the review.

The tankmode is still way better than any H-tank ( looking at Generations Warpath & all those Shockwave tanks ). The few gaps don't detract much imo and the overal aesthetic of the tank still beats Titanium Megatron's tankmode by miles.

I honestly don't think this review is doing this guy justice.

He's not a gem but focusing so much on the minor issues really makes him look worse than he is.

I mean I like him a lot more now than I did when he was first shown. So I'm really excited to pick him up.

Thanks for the review! I'm still excited for this guy. The shoulders will probably bother me the most, but a little part of me hopes that the crap instructions means it's been inadvertently mistransformed!

And I'm so glad the plastic quality is getting better.

How is the head attached to the neck? Just a ball-joint? I'm thinking/hoping someone can make a new resin head for "one single good-looking head" as a replacement. And we don't have to worry about color-matching it, as the bright yellow isn't used anywhere else on the figure. And almost any other color would look better!
