**Spoilers for Transformers Prime Season 2 are implied by this figure's very nature, so if you do not wish to be spoiled turn back now.**

The penultimate figure from Takara's Transformers Prime Arms Micron series, AM-33 Final Battle Megatron is in many ways what this voyager mold should have been in the first place. While the AM series is certainly not know for its paint applications, FB Megatron hails from the slightly-over-voyager price point that comes with a fair amount of paint or chrome. The paint and deco of this figure is an absolutely gorgeous representation of Megatron from Prime; it blows the previous three versions away. Unlike PRiD Megatron, this version doesn't come off as plain. Along with the areas that appear to be painted in silver, parts of the limb and the inner chest are couple of shades of grey. It creates a great looking two tone effect on the chest and limbs. The painted right arm to simulate the arm "borrowed" in the show is a disappointment in that its not a new arm. However, the paint here is also used mostly to great effect. There is one side of the edge of the gauntlet that's not painted to match the opposite side, but its not really noticeable. So while not at all accurate to the show it does looks good. A bit of a downside to all the paint is the alt mode.. its a little bit disconcerting when paint parts are being rubbed against by other parts. Not worried about it in the same way some worried about Darkness Megatron's chrome but it's still a concern.

One thing I want to point out to alleviate a concern that some have concerning the toys ability to hold the sword. This mold was altered for Darkness Megatron by curving the thumb. This small change makes a huge difference, as both Darkness and Final Battle Megatron have no issues holding pegged weapons.

The Dark Matter Calibre microns are molded in translucent black plastic. It's similar to the Shadow Microns from last year, but a little more transparent. Unfortunately the stickers for the blade are not any better. They are peeling up a bit just like the single release versions. Still, the combined sword looks pretty cool, and better than the previous version in my book.

This is a great, but somewhat pricey version of voyager Megatron. I was swayed to go in on it when someone pointed out to me that its not that bad of a deal considering that the microns run around $25 before shipping on their own. I am very glad I did go in, as it is the best looking version of the mold in my opinion and I do not regret picking it up one bit. The biggest downside to this release, aside from Takara not molding a new right arm, is that there's nothing new about it outside of the deco. Everything's the same mold wise from the previous Megatron and micron sword. Despite that, I consider it THE Megatron to get.

Awesome, looks damn fine. I really like the look of the Dark Matter Calibur microns, though yeah the stickers peeling already is unfortunate.

One thing I forgot to put in the above text: There are only four stickers for Megatron, and two of them are 'con symbols. There are a couple of extra ones although I could not figure out where they were meant to go. They are just simple purple rectangles. *shrug*

Man I bet those shoulders are going to get real loose soon. Looks good, but I have the RiD voyager version and the mold is disappointing to me.

Translucent Microns in black? I've finally been knocked off the tip to get this.

Paintjob is really sweet - although it's kind of bad they went all the trouble of painting his right arm to make it look like the Prime arm, but not paint his hand.

He's nice though - but for the amount of money he costs, I think I'm happy enough with my regular voyager. Which isn't a really good mold anyway.

Finally, a damn near perfect voyager Megatron. Not a fan of microns though. Looks like I'll have to find another sword...

The silver does make him look nicer than the Hasbro release, if only Takara made a new right arm for him, that would make this go from a meh to a order asap for me.

Dr. Wu has their own Dark Star Saber coming out in a month or so, so that's an option.

Wish I were located in the U.S. -- I'd immediately make an offer for those who aren't too crazy about the Microns. Anyway, with the time and effort involved, I can just get my own set locally.

I have to admit that I wasn't interested in this one (having Darkness and Dark Energon Megatrons) but those translucent black AM's reeled me in for a set. This thing would cost me close to USD60 locally...

If I had any love for this mold, I'd probably get this without a second thought. As it is though, I really don't care for it, so it's ultimately a pass without some massive clearance pricing.

If I remember correctly, those purple rectangles were supposed to go to the knees -- they're already painted purple here (and the Hasbro version) but you had to apply them in Darkness Megatron.

They seem to long for the knee's and the sticker sheet is new for Megatron. So unless it was a change late in the process, I have my doubts.

Looking at mine, I think if you bend the knee it would wrap around there perfectly.
