So is there any rhyme or reason to which figures have the metallic dot in the bottom triangle of the forehead crest? Mine has it, but it looks like there are others who recently got Soundwave that don't have it.
^top left deep scratch. Bottom around the decepticon symbol light scratches back and forth. Looks much worse in person. ^The arrow is pointing to the deep scratches. On top of all this the hip joints are not aligned equally so when I stand him straight he leans to his right. Also laserbeak has some pretty bad painting. This bad boy is going back for a refund. Hopefully RK play nice.
since ive been messing with this guy i dont think the leg kibble really is a big deal, it totally emulates the mass of blue plastic that sticks out on the side like the g1 figure, even the vent and piston detail is there. and like someone else said mine has the silver splash on the crest where others i have seen dont.
Danny, that sucks about those scratches, but thanks for posting those pictures as they show the techy details I was talking about in each corner of the window. Hope you get yours sorted out.
As I said, what you expect in a Masterpiece is in the eye of the beholder. I flipped out pretty hardcore when my SOC Grendizer set arrived and I found a "big" chip off his diecast red painted chest. But an SOC is not a Transformer and I've come to terms that a toy that was designed to transform by having parts snap on to tabs and/or rub against other surfaces is not going to maintain a perfect paint job anyway.
Ah hah, I stand corrected, man. sorry for doubting. I guess the QC is hit and miss on these as well?! Oh Takaratomy, WHY is this so?! Sigh.
I'm torn now. mp10 was my favorite masterpeice but this soundwave is unreal. Amazing figure and i just cant stop transforming him. on par with mp10 for me if not slightly better.
I should be getting mine by the end of the week. I'd happily swap it for yours, so you don't have to deal with RK.
Did he always cost like almost 200$? Or did they just up the price because of popularity just recently? Wasn't he under 100?
under a 100? we wish. orig preorder most places was at least 159.99 most mp prices go up after the first initial stock.
