Thanks for the feedback on the leg/hip joints everyone, seems to be one of the weak points on an otherwise great figure....Love the pics btw TC,beautiful as always.
Wow, that's awesome! I thought the G1's would be smaller/thinner. That's some great piece of engineering! Good to know we can fit G1 tapes in without a problem!
Just got this guy too. Cool looking bot mode. Hip joints make me nervous too. Surprisingly cool deck mode, which i personally find useless. Earphone jack looks like it works and the on/off switch and volume controls are fiddleable. Fwd n rewind button works. Laserbeak is amazing. Things to watch out. Dodgy gold paint on the frame of soundwaves chest. And silver paint on laserbeak in particular need a bit of care, u can see some rubbing off on other parts due to small tolerance in moving parts. Still A toy, if not A+ depending on how u find the deck mode playable. Audiophiles will find it cool tho, even if ive never seen a walkman this chunky. Edit: oh man just discovered his collapsible inner chest, so cool. HEY GUISE ITS SUB SPACE!
It would be cool to gut one of those cheap mp3 players, and try to get it to fit in there...run the headphone jack...I think that would be sick.
When we first got pics of this guy, the first thing I thought was "Wow those hip joints look scary..." Hopefully they don't start breaking on people, that would really suck hard.
This hips breaking is taking off like the "breakable" Fansproject Springer's blade. In other words, it was NOTHING to worry about. Can anyone take some up close pics of the hips for those of us waiting on him to arrive?
Yup, so far every TF with common breaking issues has been with parts nobody expected to break, and not from being thin but generally because of design issues or factory errors.
Actually, that could make a pretty good bonus 2-pack of cassettes: Laserbeak & Ratbat. For all the collectors that can't afford or have no desire to get both Soundwave & Soundblaster but still want a complete minion line-up.
I would bet rat bat with soundblaster. Squaktalk and beast box if anyone needs an update and to combine as well would rule.
Agree. Some paranoid peeps. I've yet to hear ONE person actually say that the hips on their MP Soundwave broke. Until then, Houston...we ain't got a problem. And at least some of you got'em already (waiting on mine-talking to you, tfsource).
Id get sound blaster as well - such a cool mold. In answer to some of the questions, the hips do seem a bit thin, and makes you want to make sure you grasp it close to the joint when transforming or posing. So far it seems fine. His hands, though designed similarly to MP-10 are different, slightly smaller, has different moulding patterns on it, and of course painted differently. The finger bit does come off if u force it. The main QC flaw in the figure is on the right side of his face mask if u look closely, it shows where they clipped it off the runner, therefore the paint isn't as symmetrical as the other side. I've been looking carefully at everyone's photos and it is in every figure to some degree... Except for the photo on the box
Could you snap a picture of this, please? I'd like to see this so I know what to look for when kind arrives. Thanks, .
