Not that I can tell. Still, as someone with a cracked piece, I can say this. I wouldn't worry about it. Just transform it the most careful way possible, bending the bottom section all the way above the top section before folding over. Even with the crack, there's almost no way for it to actually really truly break. The crack on mine actually relieves pressure on the joint and it won't crack further if I don't force it to transform the wrong way. It's a bad thing that it happens, but not one that should cause huge issues.

I tried rounding those little plastic pieces with a file and it seemed to help. The damage was already done before that point though so I don't know if it will help prevent damage.

I sold him and Laserbeak off last week and am just waiting for the Hasbro release now. I broke even on my sale of him and Laserbeak so I'm happy.

Can't argue with that. And seeing how there isn't much difference between the Hasbro and the TT versions, i would say that you went the right route for yourself.

It's amazing how light Soundwave still is even fully loaded with 3 cassettes, the Megatron mini gun, the Rumble twin arm cannon and the energon cube on his chest.

Man, I can't believe the level of petty bitching people do around here about these toys. Yes, they are EXPENSIVE. But at the end of the day they are still mass-produced plastic playthings. They are not perfect and never will be. Perfection on the level that people seem to expect would cost a thousand dollars per toy.

"There's a tiny scratch on my Sideswipe. You can't see it but I know it's there so I'm sending it back."

"This is the third Soundwave I got that has an unpainted triangle on his head. I'm sending it back for another replacement."

My Soundwave has a gnarly plastic flash gouge on his face. The blue paint on one of the bottoms of his feet is thin and wearing off. The cassettes get stuck and don't pop out right every time. His left leg is juuuust off center and can't stand perfectly straight.

I don't care!! About any of that!! Cause what the toy has going for it outweighs the teeny tiny little flaws by a million!! It's still a freaking amazing toy....a literal dream come true that I could only imagine when I was a child. And now it's a reality!!

I thought I was bad and had some OCD kinda issues in the past, but I see now that it's nothing compared to some people. If little things like flecks of missing paint give you that much grief, maybe this is the wrong hobby!

And really, the most anyone is going to spend on a single Masterpiece toy is about $200. That's not exactly a huge investment in the grand scheme of things! People fill "ripped off" cause Hasbro's version is gonna end up costing less in the long run...is that hundred or so dollars REALLY that big a deal? If your budget is stretched so thin that a hundred dollars can make or break you.....again, maybe these aren't the toys for you.

The complaints are fully justified when paint quality has noticeably taken a dive in the past couple years. If that wasn't true then the number of "petty complaints" would have always been the same as it is now. It's gotten worse and people are noticing, thus the increased bitching. Perhaps it's coincidence, but it seemed to start when they switched factories from China to Vietnam.

Yes he did, like many painted diecast toys. Paint chipping off diecast and paint poorly and sloppily applied aren't really comparable. And whatever paint problems MP01 had are nowhere even close to being as severe and widespread as MP12.

I didn't say there weren't any paint qc problems ever before the last couple of years, just that its gotten noticeably worse.

I actually didn't realize that the triangle was ever painted. Oh well, mine isn't, but write me up as someone who really doesn't care.

Most people got fine MP12 or had very, very minor defects that would be unnoticed if not scrutinised. Its just the loud minority that did get really bad ones increased paranoia and made everyone who didn't have a Sideswipe think that all or most were bad, which was not even nearly the case.

MAYBE the first one is worth complaining about (but thats really not a big deal), but I can't even tell what's wrong in the second and third picture... And hey, you got a silver triangle!

So if we bought a Toyota with a scratch from the factory it would be ok since it is a mass produce vehicle? Hey we shouldnt bitch about the sratch because its not like we spent $500K on a Bentley or RR right, its just a $20K car. Or how about getting a burned bun on my McDonalds. Hey why bitch cause it a $2 burger its not Kobe beef right. Please....

No. I wouldn't complain about a scratch on my car. It's a car. It takes me from point A to point B. What do I care if it's scratched?

A burned burger at McDonald's? Who gives a rat's ass...it's a $2 burger made in 15 seconds by a guy making minimum wage. If it matters that much to you, cook for yourself. I'm certainly not gonna bitch about it and make the poor bastard's day any worse.

Is it really worth getting upset over such trival little things in life? You really think you and your $2 are SOOO special and important that you deserve to be totally happy all the time and everyone should bend over backwards to please you?

People have different levels of standards. Let's just leave it at that.

I would believe so too as I would freak out at scratches on my car but then there's my wife... She does not care one bit about her car being scratched.

Either way, people have different perspectives in life. Some make a big deal out of small things while others look at the bigger picture.

But let's get back on topic.

It's one of the biggest issues I have with importing. You don't get to pick and choose like you can in stores.

I often look at all the figures available in stores and pick the one with the best paint. Meanwhile I have friends who'll just grab the first one they see and be okay with it.
