Put Soundwave on a shelf next to some of the great $40 leader toys we have gotten over the years. RotF Prime. HftD Starscream. Animated Magnus. Cybertron Megatron. Movie Brawl.

Soundwave is smaller, has less parts, and is simpler. If he is less than a leader, I compare him to an ultra with extra paint.

Not saying he isn't the perfect Soundwave. He is. I'm saying the price is lunacy. $60 would be way too much unless he also came with the 4 main tapes.

 

Good luck on that $40 release you're hoping for, to go with all the $40 Masterpieces that came before it, and all the $40 Masterpieces that are yet to come.

Anyone remember FT-02 Acoustic Wave? Or for that matter, mourn it never eventuating?

Wow, Takara's version looks so much better. I can only be optimistic and believe Takara's MP version of Shockwave will look equally as better then FT's Quackwave!

I remember it well, and I also think it looks better than Takara's so, yes, I do mourn that it never came to be.

I also think MP13 looks wonderful and I have no complaints, but if I had the choice I would have gone for AW.

Yep, mine does. Just be careful when opening his hands.

 

Mine shipped missing an index finger. Still waiting to hear back from rk about getting a replacement

as much as i love mp-13, acoustivc wave, both protos (you only show the first one) have better legs than mp-13. i would have been very happy to buy him 6+ months ago (the original planned release date was summer last year IIRC) and still would have bought mp-13. i think acousticwave would have rocked. then again i'm a guy that has 3 different "MP" versions of thundercracker.   so, yes i do mourn his not coming to be.

just got mine today and opened it up. perfect fella to replace the g1 soundwave after his head melted via chemicals... the only blemishes is the silver on his feet is pretty messed up with scratches and paint chips. i can probably get some paint to fix it. also his feet is pretty tight so its hard to fold it to be flush. i think i read people with similar problems where they couldn't bend it all the way at all. i had to grip the joint so i can push it and its hard but i got it to bend all the way to be flush. im just scared i might snap that joint but it feels sturdy.

laserbeak is awesome but has some noticeable ships but when you fold its wings you dont see it.

anyone know the reason why the megatron handle can slide down? is it for particular figures?

 

ATH-AD700's and M10's are appropriate companions for Soundwave. Not sure about the reading material.
